Vijay's next venture 'Vil' has kicked off in Palani and the actor is very keen to get things in order right from the outset. Both Vijay and Prabhu Deva, the director of the film, are very keen to cast Vadivelu in a meaty role. It can be recalled that Vadivelu came up with rib tickling stuff in 'Pokiri' that was appreciated by the masses. Initially the project was named 'Singam', but then director Hari had copyrighted the name for the movie he's planning to make with Suriya. So the Vijay-Prabhu Deva duo decided on 'Vil'. It was only after that they came to know director S. J. Suryah had the same title for a Telugu film he was making with Pawan Kalyan. Vijay reportedly convinced S. J. Suryah and had him change the title of the Telugu film title. S. J. Suryah has now decided on the name 'Puli' for his film. With the name game settled now, the unit is concentrating hard to get the movie in a slick format. Grapevine has it that 'Vil' is the remake of a Hindi film by name 'Soldier'. Asin plays Vijay's leading lady once again. The movie has cinematography by Ravi Varma, music by Devi Sri Prasad and stunts by Fefsi Vijayan.

Finally Chennai 600028 will hit the screens this weekend. Amidst commercial clich©s where the hero tots his gun and goes on revenge mode, Chennai 600028 promises to be a different fare dwelling on Gully cricket. A movie by a young brigade, it throws light on life of youth in Chennai, his ambitions, friendship and aspirations. Cricket forms the back bone of the movie. Venkat Prabhu, son of Gangai Amaran has directed the movie with S P B Charan and Saravanan producing the flick. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is a big hit. With promos already creating hype, expectations are high on the movie. The movie will open in over half-a-dozen screens in Chennai besides worldwide on Friday. Venkat Prabhu is confident that the movie would make a big impact among youngsters. 'It is a celebration of youth', he says.
Vilaiyattu: The game played by the fate
S. Kannan, an NRI Tamilian living in Australia, has launched his own production house Aspro Films. 'Vilaiyaattu' will be their maiden venture. 'Vilaiyaattu', as the title suggests, deals with the game that fate plays on the mankind. The movie has three main characters. Guru, the hero, is a person who has lost out to the world of drugs. Since he has no particular objective to go for, he gets in to anti-social activities. Priya, the heroine, roams around like a butterfly, with the intention to work hard to fulfill her dreams... Vellai is the typical hardcore criminal who is hunted across the country by the Police as well as by the Interpol. The film shows you how the fate plays with these three divergent characters. Guru boasts that he can floor any woman and takes up the challenge of his friends to 'get' Priya at any cost. As fate would have it, Priya falls for him instantly after getting fooled by his gimmicks. Though Guru cunningly gets Priya, her true love wins his heart and completely changes his life. A true and flawless love emerges between them. But the affair is interrupted by Vellai, who lusts after Priya. The film tells you what happens to the three. The story has been handled by debutant director Ezhilvendhan, who plays the lead role of Guru, besides penning the story, screenplay and dialogues. 'Kadhal' Saranya plays Priya's role. Pandiyarajan, 'Ganja' Karuppu, 'Mahanadhi' Sankar, Seema, Thambiraj and Andrew of Hollywood are the other actors in the film. Debutant Joicy Gift scores the music is while D. Kannan handles the camera. Veteran Suresh Urs and Vino Mirdat take care of the editing and art work respectively.
'Pandhayam' The game begins
Hitesh Jhabak whose production house Nemichand Jhabak Productions made the successful films 'Naan Avan Illai', 'Anjathey' and 'Pandi'. The producer has now collaborated with S. A. Chandrasekhar's production house V.V. Creations for the under-production film 'Pandhayam'. The film stars Nithin Sathya and Sindhu Tholani in lead roles. A major attraction of the film would be the fact that Vijay plays a cameo in the form of a guest role. The film is directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar and has the music of Vijay Antony. Expected to be a typical S. A. Chandrasekhar movie, the film would have the right mix of emotions, action and of course love. Nithin Sathya plays a die hard Vijay fan in the film.
Rajinikanth in games too
Rajinikanth's popularity is too well-known to bear any repetition here. But now the undisputed superstar is going to take a new avatar too. The man, who is going to be immortalized as an animation character by his daughter Soundarya, may soon be featured in a game console. Gaming and animation movies are now being seen as the next big thing as far as children's entertainment goes. Soundarya Rajinikanth, who is the managing director of Ocher Studios that specializes in such new-fangled forms of entertainment, is planning to sell online gaming and gaming consoles. She feels that the best way forward is to start with games based on popular films. Ocher is getting ready a gaming studio to make console, internet and mobile-games. Ocher Studios is co-producing the full-length animated film of Rajinikanth and will soon start off with a gaming theme on him. The studio is also into graphic designing for movies. The first of its famous projects was Chandramukhi. So Rajinikanth has another first to his credit now. He will be first star to be featured in a game. That's delighting news to fans of the superstar worldwide.
