An animated Gandhi

Producer Krishnakanth, who faded away after back-to-back failures in Manmadhan and Pudukottailirundhu Saravanan, is back to his normal ways now. Apparently having solved all his problems, the producer is completing his long-pending movie Solli Adippen, which features Vivek in the lead role. The audio of Solli Adippen set to tunes by Sabesh - Murali would be released on the Tamil New Year's Day. Krishnakanth would also make an animation film and the subject he has chosen is Gandhi. His Indian Theatres will be making a 2D animation film about Gandhi. The movie has been titled Gandhi Thaatha. 'I would like to get the message of national integration across in this film. Work is going on to that effect and the film will have different titles according to the language', he adds.

Actress Pooja Gandhi's desire

Actress Pooja Gandhi, the popular Kannada actress, made her debut in Tamil films through the film 'Kokki' and has even finished the film 'Vaitheeswaran' with Sarath kumar. She is currently co-starring Arjun in 'Thiruvannamalai', a production venture of Kavithalaya and directed by Perarasu. Featuring in the role of a government officer, Pooja expressed her desire to lend her own voice for her character. Director Perarasu suggested that she could dub in her voice only after improvising her language with two more films, although he declared that her capability of delivering dialogues was really good. Pooja Gandhi entered filmdom through a Bengali film 'Tum Ake Salam' and dubs in her own voice for Kannada films. As director Perarasu said, it might probably take more time for the actress who hails from Punjab, to speak Tamil in a mellifluous way.

Not portraying Rahul Gandhi in 'Youngistaan': Jackky Bhagnani

Actor Jackky Bhagnani is playing a politician in "Youngistaan", but his role is not modeled on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. "I am interested in politics and I have always kept a tab on it. You may find the similarity in the looks, but I am not portraying Rahul Gandhi in the film," Jackky said. Directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal, the film also featuring late actor Farooque Sheikh and Neha Sharma will hit the screens March 28. Recalling his shooting experience with Farooque, who will be seen in a prominent role in "Youngistaan", Jackky said: "Farooque Sheikhji is playing my kind of father. It is a triangle love story between me, Neha and Farooque sir's character." Farooque Sheikh died of a sudden cardiac arrest in Dubai in December last year. He was 65. "For Farooque sir's character, he was our first choice because looking at him you realise, he is the most clean person...he's so experienced, but he would hardly talk about himself."

Casteism Trailer On Gandhi Birthday!

This is how Ram Gopal Varma is known as ridiculously mischievous publicity crazy film maker who can’t leave anything that goes in front from his eye. On the birthday of Gandhi, who fought battles against rigid caste system in India, here comes RGV releasing a purely caste based film ‘Vangaveeti’ trailer and first look that is on October 2nd. For all those audience and media men thinking of RGV might have shelved ‘Vangaveeti’ for the sake of ‘Nayeem,’ this trailer is going to be the answer. Reports say, RGV deliberately inserted a high dose of controversial content into the trailer thus depicting the age old rivalry between two caste groups in Vijayawada. In fact, the basic storyline and underpinning element in making of ‘Vangaveeti’ will be these caste based rivalries which led to bloodshed and violence in Vijayawada. Definitely, political repercussions could be on a massive scale after the release of trailer and first look. Well, RGV loves this sort of malice. Let’s wait and see; what producer Dasari Kiran Kumar and director RGV are here to offer us?
