Ganga, starring the National award winner for the best actress Tara, is all set to storm the festivals. The film on the Joginis in Telengana region is very sensitive and serious movie. Produced under Maithi Kalamandir banner by Sekhar Yalamanchi, the movie is primarily aimed for the festival circuit. A fact vouched by the film's producer himself. Inspired by a song of Ande Sri, Ganga is directed by Krishnamurthy (the original director Vemu is out of the project now). Venu Gopal, Priyanka, Jayaprakash Reddy, Suman, Eeswari Rao, Chandra Mohan, Babu Mohan, Ranganath, Raghubabu, Venu Madhav are also in the cast. Koti has strummed the music. The songs will be released by this month. The movie will be released in August.
Ganga The Bodyguard climax completed
Victory venkatesh Upcoming movie Ganga - The Bodyguard climax shooting completed today and the unit canned climax scenes on venkatesh, saloni at lingampalli Railway station. Bodyguard unit will be leaving Canada for song shoot and return in the 1st week of October. The makers are planning to release the film in October itself although the date has not been announced yet. Salman Khan's Bodyguard (Hindi version) has already hit the screens in AP with high volume of prints and the movie has opened to a mixed response. So it'll be interesting to see the response for the Telugu version Ganga The Bodyguard, which also stars Trisha and Saloni.
Gangadhar enthrals Atlanta Telugus
Popular playback singer and music director Gangadhar presented 'Bhakti Geetanjali' at Riverdale Temple in Atlanta for a non-stop four hours. The orchestra was presented jointly by Hindu Temple of Atlanta and Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA). The programme was held on June 30 and Gangadhar rendered several songs sung by Ghantasala, which include several devotional numbers and Annamayya Keerthans. In between the songs, he rendered slokas from Bhagavad Gita along with their meaning. There was a standing ovation when he sung 'Jaya Krishna Mukunda Muraari'' in 'Panduranga Mahatmyam' and 'Siva Shankaree'' in 'Jagadekaveeruni Katha'. Several other melodious numbers like '€” 'Namo Venkatesaa', Sesha Sailaavaasa', Pralaya Payodhijale', Ghanaa Ghana Sundaraa', Jagadabhi Raamaa', Nee Kondaku Neeve Rappinchuko', Neelakantharaa Devaa', Tiruvenkaadheesa Jagadeesaa', Jagadapu Chanavula Jajara', Brahma Kadigina Paadamu', Antaa Raama Mayam'' '€” rendered by Gangadhar enthralled the Telugu speaking people in Atlanta. Speaking on the occasion, Gangadhar says, 'We are going to conduct 'Sampurna Bhagavad Gita Gana Yagna' through Bhagavad Gita Foundation established by us. The Atlanta programme is a first step in this regard. The late Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao had sung only 108 slokas out of 701 in Bhagavad Gita. He was unable to render all of them due to ill-health. But in a bid to fulfil his ambition, I am planning to sing all the 18 chapters in Bhagavad Gita along with its meaning. All the 18 chapters would be provided in 18 separate CDs and cassettes. Now I am on the job and awaiting cooperation and sponsors for the yagna.' The Atlanta Hindu Temple and TAMA jointly announced that they would sponsor the Viswaroopa Sandarsana Yoga chapter CDs and cassettes. Gangadhar was awarded with a title 'Ghantasala Manasa Putra' by both the organisations in the presence Vedic pundits. Ramesh Chaparala, Bala Indurthy, Sridevi Dadithota of TAMA and Dr Jaganmohana Rao, Dr B K Mohan and Dr Hyma Mikkilineni of the temple felicitated Gangadhar on the occasion. The audiences '€” T Ramachandra Reddy, Dr Jayasri Moparthi, Karunakar Asireddy, Dr Mangaraju Vanapalli, Ramanamurthy, Dr Narsinga Rao Palep '€” who became spell-bound with the fantastic rendition of the songs and Bhagavad Gita slokas, announced that they would sponsor one chapter each in Bhagavad Gita CDs and cassettes.
Priyanka to shoot for 'Gangaajal 2' in Bhopal
Actress Priyanka Chopra has jetted off to Bhopal to begin shooting for Prakash Jha's "Gangaajal 2". The "Fashion" star will be seen playing the role of a policewoman in the police-drama, which is a sequel to the hit 2003 film that starred actor Ajay Devgn. "A sense of quiet... Inner balance... Time to discover the calm in the eye of the storm... Heading to Bhopal to start #Gangajal2 @prakashjha27," the "Dil Dhadakne Do" actress tweeted on Tuesday. "Gangaajal 2" is about a policewoman, who takes on some powerful and influential men in her district. It is expected to release later this year.
Ganga Cauvery from Himalayas!
Akshaya Productions maiden venture 'Ganga Cauvery' shot at the highest peak surroundings of this country starring Akshay, Mallika Kapoor, Mahi, Thara, two famous journalists Ganesh Kasargod and B.Ganapathi has returned from 15 days shooting in the beginning of snow fall at Himalaya. The 150 crew that went to Himalaya held the muhurut of the film 'Ganga Cauvery' at Gangotri the genesis place of Ganga River. The shooting was held at Harshil village, Bagodi, Gangotri, Batawadi, Bajora, Uttar Kashi, Haridwar and Hrishikesh says debut director Vishnukanth. The 15 scenes, two songs and two bit songs cost Rs.35 to 40 lakhs for the producer for the first schedule. Producer Venkatappa is brimming with happiness because the nature supported the unit to shoot the required portions. When some of the Hindi films found it difficult to shoot the Kannada film team had the great opportunity he said. This will be a visual treat to the audience of Karnataka feels Venkatappa. Actress Thara, journalist Ganesh Kasargod, lyricist and music director K.Kalyan, hero Akshay shared the shooting experience with the media on Sunday evening.
'Ganga Cauvery' brisk shooting
After completing fifteen days schedule at Himalaya region in the minus degree temperature at places like Harshal village, Bagodi, Gangotri, Batavadi, Baguru, Uttar Kashi, Haridwar, Hrishikesh producer R.V.Venkatappa's expensive venture 'Ganga Cauvery' is now shooting at a private house in Mysore ring road. It was a marriage invitation card getting final touches scene where yesteryears actress Roopa Devi, Ananthnag, Chitra Shenoy, Ramesh Bhat, hero Akshay and heroine Mallika Kapoor took part in the comedy sequence. Vishnukanth who played 'Dr.Ambedkar' title role in the past is independently directing this film. He has written the story and screenplay while B.A.Madhu of over 100 films has penned the dialogues. Two senior journalists Ganesh Kasargod and B.Ganapathi are playing key roles in this film produced by Akshaya Productions. H.C.Venu is the cameraman and K.Kalyan has penned the songs and scored the music.
