Geeta loves the Mercedes

The scintillating beauty Geeta Basra who was last seen in 'The Train' grooving to the hit number 'Woh Ajnaabe' alongside Emraan Hashmi was spotted last evening at a prestigious car award ceremony. She was stunning as ever and her face was glowing with that splendid smile of hers. The awards organized by Carwale was an event to commemorate the power of the consumer in the choices that one makes in purchasing a car. The awards hosted by Cyrus Sahukar saw Geeta being invited on stage to present an award. When asked about her favourite car, Geeta quickly replied 'Mercedes'. It has been reported that Geeta Basra will be soon be seen in more challenging roles and will soon do away with her glamorous image. Geeta promises her fans much more and is set to impress. Till then, let's just hang in.

Geeta Basra celebrates Birthday

Actress Geeta Basra celebrated her birthday yesterday amidst close friends and family. The actress who has lived a major portion of her life in London did miss the city but was overwhelmed by the love and care that the people in India had to offer. Geeta was last seen in 'The Train' alongside Emraan Hashmi and has signed a film which she wouldn't like to talk about at the moment. It has also been reported that Geeta's name has featured in the list of top directors and producers such as Abbas-Mastan. Geeta who kept her birthday really private and kept away from media states that a birthday is more of a private affair and thus she isn't interested in any sort of publicity that comes across by informing the media about ones birthday. Geeta wanted to be known for her performance rather than anything else and aspires to be Madhuri Dixit whom she totally adores. Here's wishing her all the very best.

Geeta Arts makes mega budget films

It is the one banner that is making two mega budget films this year and will be releasing them next year. One of course is Pawan Kalyan's Jalsa and the other is the Tamil remake Ghazini in Hindi starring Amir Khan and Asin. Reportedly, the budget for Jalsa is around Rs 25 crore and for Ghazini, it's approximately Rs 45 crore. Given the corporate entry into the south Indian film industry, the production values have acquired lots of importance and the same is true of the Hindi film industry. Naturally, as they say, all good things come with a fat price tag!

Geeta Arts scouts for new talent

While on Geeta Arts, it is being said that, come next year, and they would start making films with heroes, apart from the stars in their family. Till date, they have only made films with Chiranjeevi, Nagababu, Pavan Kalyan and Allu Arjun. Now, it is being said that they have lined up a young team, who would listen to fresh scripts and check out new artistes and technicians. It is said that many young makers are losing out in working for them as the older set don't have the time to listen to the newcomers. So, Geeta Arts has decided to have a new set to decide on fresh stories and fresh approaches. Rumours are that they have already leased out an apartment in Madhapur from where the new team will operate and liaison with the main players at Geeta Arts.

Geeta Arts 'Gazhin' surpasses OSO at Rs 93 crore

'Gazhini' is the latest film under production at Geeta Arts. The film is being readied for release in October. As it is now well-known, the film is a remake of the Tamil film of the same name. In Hindi, it stars Aamir Khan, Asin and Jiya Khan. The latest from Bollywood is that the film has done Rs 93 crore business before its release, crossing the Rs 73 crore mark of Shah Rukh-starrer 'Om Shanti Om'.

Geeta Basra to pair with Sundar C

Popular Delhi based model Geeta Basra who has starred in Hindi movies such as 'The Train' and 'Dil Dosth' will make her debut in Tamil films opposite Sundar C. in the film 'Vaada'. Director G. Venkatesh who is currently shooting 'Durai' with Arjun is slated to direct the film. With 'Durai' almost nearing completion planning for his next film has already begun. Since Geeta Basra, like so many other heroines in the Tamil film industry, does not know Tamil, a language expert has been appointed to teach her the language. 'Vaada' would also feature Vivek, Jairam, Aasish Vidyarthi, Kalabhavan Mani and Shayaji Shinde in prominent roles. The film is produced by Screenplay Entertainment and shooting would start on August 16. Interestingly, the film will start its shooting in a Sivan Koil in Rishikesh. Despite many Hindi and Telugu films being shot there this will be the first time a Tamil film will be shot there.
