Today's big release is 'Gentleman' and it features Nani in lead role. Nani slowly entered the top league with back to back 'Blockbusters'. His 'Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha' fetched him more accolades earlier. Now he is looking to continue the same run. He is back to square one and has joined hands with his debut movie director Mohan Krishna. Niveda Thomas also makes her debut in Tollywood. The movie is a Crime thriller as shown in trailer. Story opens with two heroines and Catherine (Niveda Thomas) narrates her flashback about her boyfriend Gautam (Nani). Then Aishwarya (Surabhi) narrates her story to Catherine. The movie started off well and it was well supported by Manisharma's music. There were lots of twists to the tale and the pace of the screenplay was also good. Intermission part is the best one and we have another twist once again. The second half is where the movie falls flat. Too much of anything is good for nothing. Even though the second half also has twists, it just becomes 'Meh..!'. Vennela Kishore as IT manager did justice to his role. Also whenever a thriller is crafted, the knot should be opened carefully, else things will be rotten. Same mistake happens in 'Gentleman'. When the suspense is broke, everything gets too dramatic ! Overall, a good thriller, let down by a weak narration in latter half.
Gentleman 1st Weekend Collections
'Gentleman' marks 3rd consecutive Box Office success for Nani. While 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy' was a blockbuster, 'Krishnagaadi Veera Prema Gadha' stood as an above average. Now, 'Gentleman' generated solid revenue in its opening weekend. A share of close to Rs 9 crore in the first 3 days is an indication of Nani's market growth in the past one year. Most importantly, He has been consistently delivering content-driven films and that's the reason behind his expansion of market. In the long run, 'Gentleman' would collect close to Rs 20 crore if the revenues remain steady till the end of 2nd Weekend. Gentleman 1st Weekend Collections (Share): Nizam: Rs 2.44 crore Ceded: Rs 0.70 crore Uttar Andhra: Rs 0.71 crore Guntur: Rs 0.54 crore Krishna: Rs 0.49 crore East: Rs 0.45 crore West: Rs 0.36 crore Nellore: Rs 0.16 crore Gentleman 1st Weekend AP & Nizam Collections: Rs 5.85 crore Gentleman 1st Weekend Worldwide Collections: Rs 8.59 crore (includes Karnataka: Rs 0.62 crore, USA: Rs 1.82 crore, ROI & ROW: Rs 0.30 crore)

Downfall in 'Gentleman' collections
Actor Nani's is currently in the peak stage of his career. All his films are garnered well at the box-office these days. He recently scored a hat-trick with 'Evade Subramanyan', 'Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy' and 'Krishnagaadi Veera Premagaadha'. Now, his latest film 'Gentleman' opened with positive reviews. 'Gentleman' had a very strong weekend and the film's collections were amazing. But there was a sudden drop in the collections from Monday. Compared to here, the graph of overseas business went downwards from Sunday itself. The film collected 202,412 dollars on Saturday but it reduced to almost half on Sunday by collecting only 121,089 dollars. Though the film crossed half million mark and entered profit zone, sudden decline in collections is not something which is expected. Nani's is taking some much needed break and will kick-start the film with Trinath Rao in July. Keerthy Suresh of 'Nenu Sailaja' fame will be pairing up with Nani in this film.

Ambreesh - The True Gentleman
Rebel Star Ambareesh has proved to be a perfect and true gentleman once again. It is not for nothing that his fans and supporters call him 'Kaliyuga Karna,' the living Karna. The bypolls to the Mandya Parliamentary constituency has proved it again. Just over three months ago, the cold war between former chief minister SM Krishna and Ambreesh came to the fore during the Karnataka Assembly elections. After Ambreesh gained the upper hand in selecting candidates to the Assembly constituencies in the Vokkaliga heartland of Mandya, Krishna refrained from canvassing in his home district, instead confining his canvassing to Bangalore. Taking this cue, many Krishna supporters in the Congress party did not participate in canvassing in Mandya. This included Ramya. Even when Congress heir Rahul Gandhi came to Mandya, she kept away. In the election that followed, Ambareesh was the only Congress candidate to win from Mandya, which was swept by the JDS, led by former CM and film producer HD Kumaraswamy. Ambi is now the minister for Housing in the Siddaramaiah government and one of the most influential ministers in the State Cabinet. Nobody expected the bypolls to the Mandya and Bangalore Rural Parliamentary constituencies to be announced as the term of Lok Sabha is less than one year. In Mandya, Congress was still divided between Ambareesh and SM Krishna camps. But Ambareesh did not oppose Ramya's selection as the party's candidate. In fact he wholeheartedly supported her. Common folks would be surprised that Ambi did not harbour ill-will towards Ramya for not supporting him during the Assembly election. But those who know the 'Mandyada Gandu' better, which is most people, were not surprised. In his entire career in films and politics, and in his entire life, Ambareesh has not thought about, forget acting against, the interests of even his enemies. During the Assembly elections, the who is who of Sandalwood campaigned for Ambareesh including Darshan, Sudeep, Yash, Duniya Vijay, Nenapirali Prem among others. But Ramya, despite being a card carrying member of the Congress party did not. But Ambareesh is not the one to hold grudges against anyone. He not only supported her candidature but also was present when she filed the nomination papers. Ramya's foster father, RT Narayan died on the same day of Ramya filing the nominations, and the actress had second thoughts about contesting. It was left to Ambareesh, and not any other 'camp' of the party to convince her to continue the fight. Ambareesh, once again, thus proved to be the real gentleman.
