Asked Ravikumar about the fate of God Father, he says, all the works are over and we have successfully overcome all troubles to ensure a release this May. Godfather makes history

Buzz is that Ajith's Godfather, lying in the cans for a longtime, would eventually hit the screens this Deepavali. The State Government's order to grant entertainment tax exemption to movie's titled in Tamil, has prompted producer NIC Arts Chakravarthy and director K S Ravikumar to opt for a Tamil title for the movie. Godfather has been titled as Varalaru (meaning History). The movie featuring Ajith in three different roles is directed by K S Ravikumar and features Asin and Kanika in important roles. The music is by A R Rehman. Meanwhile, Vijayakanth's Perarasu, produced by Khaja Mohideen, which was lying in the cans for over a year, has been cleared of all troubles and is expected to hit the screens this week-end. Perarasu featuring Vijayakanth in dual roles and directed by a debutant Udhayan would be released on 16 September.

'Ajith is my godfather' - Jai

Jai, son of music composer Deva's elder brother Sampath, is fast climbing the ladder of success. Though he acted in the Vijay starrer 'Bhagawathy' as the younger brother, Jai is a huge fan of Ajith. Jai made an impact with 'Chennai 600028'. 'I thank Ajith sir for the all his advice and guidance that has helped me make a career out of acting. He was very friendly and advised me on various things with regard to the industry', Jai says. The young and aspiring actor is eagerly awaiting the release of his next film 'Subramaniapuram', directed by debutant and former associate of director Ameer, Sasi Kumar. Awaiting the release of 'Subramaniapuram', Jai says, ' 'Chennai 600028' was a fun-filled film shot entirely in Chennai, whereas 'Subramaniapuram' was made in rural areas of Madurai. It is a serious film. I play an ordinary youth Azhagar, who falls in love with a college student.' My forthcoming films include 'Rakozhi', 'Aval Peyar Thamizharasi', 'Rettai Suzhi' and another movie to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. Says Jai, ' I wanted to become a music director and started playing key-board initially. However director Venkatesh took me to acting. After four years of my entry, I am placed comfortably in the industry'.

Oh God, is that you Nakul, Can't believe

The film 'Boys' need not need an introduction to the viewers of Kollywood. The ace director Shankar's film which released a couple of years back presented the film field with some very talented actors like Bharath, Siddharth and Genelia. Bharath went on to become one of the most recognized and much in demand young actors of the Tamil film industry and now is a male lead who need not wait for roles to come knocking at his door. Siddharth is now one of the most wanted young lead actors in Tollywood as the Telugu film is called. He also made his mark in Bollywood in the super hit 'Rang de Basanti'. Genelia, the bubbly actress has come a long way in acting and more recently cast her beauty and acting magic in Kollywood with the recent hit 'Santosh Subaramanium' and is today considered as an budding actress in Bollywood too with the soon to released director Priyadarshan's 'Mere Baap Pehle Aap' with Akshaye Khanna and also in Aamir Khan's next home production which is the launching film for his nephew Imran Khan. When all the above mentioned actors climbed higher and higher in the glam worlds a young chap named Nakul was watching standing in the sidelines hoping to make his own mark one day. Are you able to scan your memory cells to find out who this new kid in the block is? Most probably the majority of us will try hard to recall him even if someone shows a photo of this young actor as the years that have passed between the time when he was one of the members of the gang in 'Boys' and to the present time has done a lot of change in the way this guy looked. Nakul now has shed his extra flab and his chubby look to emerge as a hot, appealing, young aspiring hero complete with a new trendy hairstyle and lean looks ready to ride on his dreams to be just like Bharath and Siddharth with whom he shared screen space in 'Boys'. He is soon to be seen as the male lead in 'Kadhalil Vizhunthean' directed by P.V.Prasath and produced by S.Umapathy under the banner of Atlantic Cinema. A new heroine called Sunaina also makes her debut in Kollywood through this film. The other supporting actors are Hari Raj, Livingston, Sampath and Pasi Sathya. The songs are composed by Vijay Antony and one of the songs titled 'Nakka Mukku' has already become a chartbuster after it started to be heard through the various radio stations and all the functions. The song has both the male version and female version. The video of the song has already been canned but due to the more than expected response to the song which is already a hit, the makers of 'Kadhalil Vizhunthean' have now decided to re shoot the visuals of the song. The makers might want to extract the last drop of the success of this song for helping the movie to be a super hit. One version is to be shot inside a studio while for the other version the search for the location is going on. The choreographer of the song is Sridhar. There is also a specialty in this movie. For the first time a leading T.V.Channel has brought the rights to release a film in the history of Kollywood. With his new looks being appreciated and a super hit song to add mileage and attract people to the theatres, everything has been going smooth for the young hero Nakul so far. Now Nakul, you just have to deliver with your performance. And remember that it is you who matters the most as you are not part of a group of teenage boys anymore, but has matured into a handsome hunk. You sure know it Nakul better than anyone else, don't you?

Waiting for the God is over!

The movie "Arai En 305il Kadavul", which was literally waiting for the 'Kadavul' (God), is now completed, with the 'God' was kind enough to come to the sets. Though the whole movie was completed, the unit had to wait for Prakashraj, who dons the role of the God in the movie. The actor, who is very busy with his commitments in many languages, could not find time to finish his portions in the movie. Finally, following the relief over the release and the good opening of his own production "Vellitherai", the versatile actor came back to "Arai En 305il Kadavul" to finish a song featuring him. The song was to be shot in Senji Fort, which was shot during last week. The film is now completed and is expected to hit the halls soon. Director Simbudevan, who provided us with a refreshing experience in Vadivelu starrer "Imsai Arasan 23aam Pulikesi", is excited about his forthcoming venture, which is also a comedy entertainer. While 'Imsai Arasan' added a new dimension in Vadivelu's career, 'Arai En' is expected to propel the careers of Ganja Karuppu and Santhanam, the lead actors of the movie.

ANR The Godfather of Telugu cinema's birthday

Akkineni Nageswara Rao is a niche for the title godfather of Telugu cinema who prevails in the industry since almost the first talkie made in Telugu. Being an encyclopedia of Telugu cinema, the veteran actor celebrates his birthday on September 20th. Akkineni Nageswara Rao can aptly be referred to as the god father as he is the man behind the relocation of Telugu industry to Hyderabad from Chennai. It was undertaken in an attempt to make movies in the native and bring Telugu cinema to lime light. On seeing deterioration in the number of films made, he started his own production house Annapurna Studios to bolster the industry. The era is even referred to as the akkineni era in which he gave a new dimension by introducing the concept of dance in the films and captivated the audience with his foot taps. He has played hero for a whooping number of 254 films. He made his debut venture as a lead in 1944 and continues to act in the recent 'Sriramadasu' which was released in 2007. Exaggeration is not the word that could be used if said there is a single role left untouched by the thespian. 'Devdas' performed by Akkineni Nageswara Rao is a mile stone in his career which is being remembered for ages. The movie was restated by adept actors Saigal, Dilip Kumar and Sivaji Ganesan in their respective languages yet they confessed their inability to portray a slick performance as the former. The era didn't conclude with 'Devdas' but continued in 'Laila Majnu' as a jinxed lover, a keen devotee in 'Vipranarayana, Bhakta Jayadeva' and the likes. Nageswara Rao was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his life time contribution to the Indian cinema. He is also the recipient of the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards. The laurelled actor is a boon to the industry for his contribution paved way for the Telugu industry which now serves as the home for a plethora of technicians and artists. musicmazaa wishes many more happy returns of the day to the thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao on his birthday.
