Prominent film director Gokulakrishna who has rendered successful movies such as 'Aanantha Kummi', 'Archanai Pookal', 'Poovarasan', 'Muthukkalai' and 'Udhavikku Varalama' passed away on the 28th of October. Besides directing films, Gokulkakrishna was also well versed in the art of scriptwriting. Two films he had written for 'Engal Anna' that featured Vijaykanth and 'Oru Naal Oru Kanavu' (dialogues) went on to become very successful among the masses.
Ramana Gogula to turn a producer
The bald-pate music director is said to be a frustrated man these days. He is unhappy that his music is not being well-received. He has been replaced in a couple of films recently. That was the final straw for Ramana Gogula, who now plans to turn a producer. He is said to be keen on making a film that one of his NRI friends had told him. Since the man was an ad film maker, apparently, Ramana liked the narrative. He is said to be considering Sumanth for the lead role. While Sumanth has refused to confirm the same till a formal announcement is made by Ramana, we have to simply wait to hear it from the horse's mouth!
Ramana Gogula launches production house
Ramana Gogula formally launched Green Mangoes Cinema, a production house and has turned a producer. He has also announced his first film with Sumanth as the hero, as we had mentioned earlier. In a special do held here yesterday, he said he was very happy with the support that he was receiving on turning a producer. He quickly clarified that he was a music director first and then a producer. Raj, a debutant director is also being introduced with this film. Venkatesh, ANR, Jayant C Paranje, D Suresh Babu, Lagadapati Sridhar, etc, were among the people who came in to wish Ramana Gogula.
Ramana Gogula's film at Gachibowli
Well known by his unique style of tunes and hit music, Ramana Gogula has turned to production with Green Mangoes banner. He is making a film with Sumanth as hero, introducing Raj Pippal as the director. For this film which completed 80 percent of shooting the title 'Boni' is under consideration. It is learnt that mostly a new title will be chosen for the film. Currently, the unit is shooting in the locales of Hyderabad, and right now it is going on at Gachibowli. Here, some key sequences are being canned on hero Sumanth. Kruthi Ahuja is playing the lead lady role in this film. As an already established actress is known by the name Kruthi in the industry, it is learnt that there are chances of changing the heroine's name.
Director Gokul spill beans on Aaha Kalyanam
Aaha Kalyanam is the Southern production debut of Yash Raj Films and the debutante director Gokul Krishna says, though I'm happy and lucky to be working with YRF banner for my first movie, its a huge responsibility. "Its a huge responsibility to live upto audiences expectations while working on the remake venture. More than nervousness, it is challenging part to work with such a big studio. I felt the responsibility to live up to the expectations and the standards of the studio. Working with YRF made me responsible," Krishna told. Director added, “After auditioning many new faces, we've zeroed in Nani after watching 'Ala Modalaindi' and Vaani Kapoor to reprise the roles of Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in this Band Baaja Baaraat remake. Nani has a unique charm in his act and Vaani was synonymous to her character.” "While making the remake, I ensured that the soul of the original is not lost. We stuck to the script of the original and made small changes for Southern nativity," Gokul Krishna said. He further added, "In a song we captured 23 different cultures. We've emphasized on the cross-cultural values through most of the film. For instance, the film is shot using a red, blue and yellow color palette," he said. Gokul is happy with Aaha Kalyanam output and said, “Saw the first copy of Aaha Kalyanam. I'm very happy with the output. Thanks Nani and Vaani for taking pain in learning Tamil perfectly and I thank Dharan Kumar and Madhan Karky for awesome musical." “Thanks Padam Kumar and YRF. I feel blessed to be a part of such a huge production house, thanks for having faith in me and supporting me and my dream,” he concluded. Nani's Aaha Kalyanam releasing simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu this Friday, on 21st February.
'Desamuduru' sets record in Gokul, Yerragadda
It is well aware that 'Desamuduru' directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Bhagawan and Danaiah on the banner of Universal Media with Allu Arjun and Hansika Mutwani in the lead was released on January 12 and was proved a big hit. Not only that, the film is creating new records in collections as well. The film was released in 16 theatres in Hyderabad alone and is successfully running at all the theatres for the past five weeks. Generally, films released in Gokul theatre of Yerragadda, won't run for more than two weeks. However, Desamuduru is running successfully for the past five weeks which is really a great record, say several prominent film personalities in Hyderabad.
