More news →No bad reason for leaving Vikramaditya's film: Imran
Actor Imran Khan, who has stepped out of Vikramaditya Motwanee's film "Bhavesh Joshi", says there was no "bad reason" behind his decision to leave it. "I don't like to talk about reasons for not doing a film. It's disrespectful. There is no bad reason for leaving the film," Imran said. "There's something between him and me, so I don't want to disrespect anyone," he added. Imran was to play the lead in "Bhavesh Joshi". Last seen in "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein", the actor is currently awaiting the arrival of his first baby with wife Avantika. His films haven't fared very well at the box office, and Imran says it is indeed "disappointing". "Of course, it's disappointing, but one should learn to deal with it. I have always been choosy. I have done films that I have believed in. I don't think I have made foolish choices at all," he added.
Imran back in action after 'long babymoon'
Imran Khan had been absent from scene since the release of his last film "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" and the actor says he was on an extended vacation before his wife delivers their first child. At a Vespa scooter launch event Wednesday, Imran revealed that he and his wife Avantika were away for a long "babymoon." "I was on a holiday. From Christmas till two weeks back, I have been on a very, very long extended vacation. So, it's the last vacation before the baby is born. You obviously know that my wife is pregnant. So, we went on what is called a 'babymoon'," the 31-year-old said here. "After marriage you go on a honeymoon and before a baby is born you go on a babymoon, it's the last holiday before you have a child. It was very relaxing," he added. Avantika is reportedly expecting their first child in June. Imran is revelling in the joys of becoming a father soon and is going through everything he needs to know about having a baby. "It's madness. Suddenly I am doing all these things online, I am researching baby car seats, best crib, all of these new things have come into my life now, that is how my days are spent. It's fun, I am thinking about things I never used to," Imran said. Imran and Avantika dated for almost nine years before tying the knot in 2011.
Kareena reinvented in 'Bombay Samurai'
Kareena Kapoor's career seems to be heading to an exciting new level with Dev Benegal's film "Bombay Samurai". Post-marriage, she seemed to flounder in her choices with her half-hearted crusader's role in Prakash Jha's "Satyagraha" and the totally inane social activist's role in "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein". With "Bombay Samurai", Kareena finally seems to have got her post-marriage formula right. According to sources, the film is "a crazy zany rollicking roller coaster ride with amazing twists and turns. There are seven to eight pivotal characters. But Kareena and Farhan (Akhtar) preside over the show". "They play a couple like no other seen before in our films. They are wacky and unpredictable. The two actors will have a ball playing their outgoing zestful characters," the source added. Both Kareena and Farhan were keen to work with one another. Says Farhan: "I've seen Kareena's work. She is consistently excellent. I was keen to work with her. Dev's film gives us a chance to try something different." Kareena expressed the highest admiration for Farhan: "I admire Farhan for being multi-talented. Which other director has done so well as an actor? Farhan took my breath away in 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'. I am really looking forward to working with him." The Farhan-Kareena film starts after Kareena's annual holiday in Switzerland in December. Incidentally, she goes on this annual Christmas-New Year holiday in Switzerland without fail every year with husband Saif Ali Khan.
Filmfare awards, covers never enough: Kareena Kapoor
Kareena Kapoor has featured on the cover of the movie magazine Filmfare almost 20 times, and she has also won six Filmfare awards - but she says any association with the brand is never enough. Kareena also graces the cover of the latest edition of the magazine. "I would like to thank the entire team of Filmfare for having me on this reinvented Filmfare cover for 19th or 20th time. But it's just never enough," the 32-year-old said here at the launch of the new magazine. "It's never enough to be on a Filmfare cover and it's never enough to have Filmfare awards. There are two things that every (Indian) actor or actress wants," she added. The new Filmfare packs in fashion, lifestyle and luxury besides the routine film news, gossip and interviews. Kareena hopes to feature on many more Filmfare covers, even when she is 60. "I hope I can always be on the Filmfare cover, even when I am 60 with all my wrinkles, hopefully no botox! I would still want to be on the Filmfare cover like I was when I was a six-year-old child," Kareena said. The actress' next film is the Karan Johar production "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein".
