Happy Birthday to Pawan Kalyan
Konidela Kalyan was born to Anjana Devi and Venkat Rao belonging to Mogaltur village in Godavari district on September 2, 1963. He got an opportunity, as the brother of Padma Bhushan, Mega Star, Dr Chiranjeevi, to make his debut into films as hero through 'Akkada Ammayi ' Ikkada Abbayi' directed by EVV Satyanarayana. While joining the films he changed his name to Pawan Kalyan. Though his debut film failed to prove a commercial hit, the audiences were shell shocked at the adventurous feats done by Pawan Kalyan on his own without any dupe. His heroic acts '€” like making 20 cars run over his fingers and keeping three huge boulders on his chest, he made them to break without any help of dupe '€” had really surprised the audiences. After the debut film, Pawan Kalyan played hero in 'Gokulamlo Sita' under Mutyala Subbaiah direction and proved that there is a real artiste in him. The first hit in his career came in the form of 'Suswagatham' directed by Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao. After that, 'Tholi Prema' directed by Karunakaran remained a blockbuster in his career. With this film, Pawan Kalyan earned a distinctive image among the youth, mass and family audiences, not as the brother of Mega Star, but as a hero on his own. Next came, 'Badri' directed by versatile director Puri Jagannath, which earned him the title 'Power Star'. He competed with versatile artiste Prakash Raj in this movie. In fact, Prakash Raj has the habit of dominating any hero with his performance, but he could not do so in front of Pawan Kalyan in this movie. That film remained a monster hit in Pawan Kalyan's career. The success of this film helped in a rise in the fan following for Power Star. He remained a roll model for several youth in real life. His film 'Khushi' that came in the direction of SJ Surya remained another blockbuster hit. Pawan Kalyan not only played hero in this movie but also composed action scenes for the movie, which remained quite natural and attracted the audiences in general and Power Star fans in particular. Pawan Kalyan had a lot of enthusiasm to direct a film. So, he took up direction for a film called 'Johnny' with himself playing the hero. Though the film failed to prove a hit on the expected lines, the movie had brought a gift in the form of Renuka Desai, who turned his life partner after the movie. Though the film could not be a commercial hit, it earned Pawan Kalyan good name and fame as a director and technician. The films that came later in his film career like 'Gudumba Shankar' under Veerashankar's direction, 'Balu ABCDEFG' under Karunakaran direction, 'Bangaram' under Dharani direction and 'Annavaram' under Bhimaneni direction, though ran as above average or hit films, they fail to match the expected hits of Power Star's image so far. Not only Pawan Kalyan but also all his fans are eagerly awaiting a blockbuster hit in his career again. It is quite surprising that the fan following of this young hero remained static and there is no downward trend, despite successive flops, average hits and hits. Presently, Power Star is playing hero in a film being produced on the banner of Gita Arts under Trivikram Srinivas direction, whose title is considered to be 'Jalsa'. All his fans are eagerly looking at the release of the film and had a strong belief and expectation that it would become a blockbuster hit. After this film, Pawan Kalyan signed the dotted line for a film to be produced by popular financier Singanamala Ramesh, which is said to be a heavy budget movie to be directed by SJ Surya, who gave the Power Star a blockbuster hit. Another speciality of this film is that world renowned musician, Maestro AR Rehman is scoring tunes for this flick. In this backdrop, there is no confusion to say that both the forthcoming films of Power Star would be definite blockbusters. Coming to the personal life of Pawan Kalyan, he is fond of a Russian director called 'Akira Kurosova'. Out of affection towards his favourite director, Pawan Kalyan named his son as Akiranandan. Pawan Kalyan's pastime hobbies are gardening and playing with his pet dogs, besides spending time with his wife Renu and son Akiranandan. Basically, Pawan Kalyan is a vegetarian and is a best friend of Venkatesh. Moreover, he is a favourite hero for many heroines like Trisha, Bhoomika, Mamata Mohandas, Genelia, Nikhita and Suhani and Vijay, a top hero of Tamil film industry. On the occasion, musicmazaa.com wishes him a very happy birthday and wishes him many more hits and blockbusters in his film career.
Happy Birthday 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan
Kalyan is the younger brother of Mega Star Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu. It takes a few years for his elder brother to earn the name and fame in Telugu film industry. But, Kalyan had everything smooth at the time of his launch as hero with a heavy fan following of Chiranjeevi. Moreover, his second brother Nagababu is a producer and another member of their family Allu Aravind is also an ace producer. Born on September 2, 1971, Kalyan is quite simple, humble and is away from publicity. Movies were never his passion. He spent a plenty of time in his youth to practice martial arts. That practice made him to gain self-confidence and it taught to grow up in a disciplined way. Kalyan, in order to clarify the comments by some critics over his skills in martial arts organized a show in Ravindra Barathi. After the programme, he was awarded the title 'Pawan', symbolizing Lord Hanuman. From then onwards Kalyan became popular Pawan Kalyan. He is also fondly called as Power Star by his fans. When it comes to his private life, Pawan Kalyan is a pure vegetarian. He is highly influenced by Jiddu Krishnamurthy and Vivekananda's philosophy. Pawan Kalyan made his debut appearance through 'Akkada Abbai Ikkada Ammayi' in 1996. Though it is an average grosser, Pawan earned a good identification in the film industry. Especially his experience and expertise in martial arts boosted the action scenes in the film and made him quite popular. After his first film, Pawan Kalyan has become choosy while selecting subjects. This had helped him in giving successive hits. Right from the second film 'Gokulamlo Sita' (1997) all his films including Suswagatham (1997), Tholi Prema (1998), Thammudu (1999), Badri (2000) and Khushi (2001) became big hits and brought him a good reputation. He was able to get a huge following with these six movies and able to make his seventh movie 'Khushi' collect more than Rs 20 crores. All his films were dealt with different themes. However, 'Khushi' has brought a revolution in his career and proved a biggest hit of that year and the biggest hit in his career. Pawan Kalyan is known for his ease and perfect timing in comedy. He is more flexible during the action scenes as well. After the release of Khushi, Pawan Kalyan took a long gap of two years in his film career. He went to Japan for a brief period to learn a martial art called Akido. He learnt this stunt to use in his first directorial venture 'Johnny' (2003). The film had Renu Desai in the female lead against him. Later, he married her. Pawan Kalyan's favorite director is Akira Kurosawa and hence he named his son after him as Akira Nandan. Though 'Johnny' did not fare well at box-office, it earned a good name for Pawan Kalyan as director. According to him a film is not just for entertainment or commercial profit, but it should educate the audiences. His film 'Gudumba Shankar' (2004) also proved an average grosser, as his fans expected some action-oriented film, but the film is a comedy entertainer. Next '?ÂÂ?Balu'?ÂÂ? (2005) and '?ÂÂ?Bangaram'?ÂÂ? (2006). A lot of hype was created on 'Bangaram' and there were lots of expectations on the film as it came from the makers of 'Khushi'. Let us recall a powerful dialogue in 'Bangaram' '?ÂÂ? Kattullo, Kodavallalo kaaduraa'?¦ gundello untundi pourusham antey'?¦ Adi ee Bangaram ki kaavalasinta undi'?¦. ('Guts will be there in one's heart and not in swords or sickles. It is abundant in this 'Bangaram'). This statement in his reel life applies to his real life as well. Pawan Kalyan never felt disappointed with failures and is now working with a renewed vigor. He is maintaining a low and secret profile about his latest film 'Annavaram', a remake of Tamil blockbuster 'Tirupachi', which is being directed by Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao and jointly produced by N.V. Prasad and Paras Jain on the banner of Mega Super Good films. Asin is pairing up with him in the female lead and Sandhya of 'Premiste'-fame is donning the role of his sister. Moreover, for the first time, his mega brother Nagababu is also doing a powerful police officer's role in that film. We have to wait and watch the character and characterization of the Power Star in 'Annavaram'. Hope he would look novel, different and stylish in this latest film. The entire unit kept their fingers crossed and did not reveal even a small hint about 'Annavaram'. Let us wish 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan a Happy Birthday and wish his latest flick 'Annavaram' a big hit.
Meera proves many wrong
Meera Jasmine no special introduction to Telugu audience. She is one heroine who has proved that glamour need not be the sole weapon in an actress repertoire. Despite being beautiful in a cuddly sort of way, Meera does not possess any of the curvaceous delights. She is also averse to exposure and glamour. But Meera has managed to survive not just in Telugu but is also one of the top heroines in Tamil and Malayalam. Meera, a National award winning actress, is a successful actress in Telugu. She has been seen in hits like Bhadra, Ammayi Bagundi. She also acted in Gudumba Shankar. She is now acting in a couple of films now. The latest on her is that she maybe featured as the heroine in a movie alongside Balakrishna. This is the movie that Balakrishna would be doing under the direction of P Vasu. Vakada Apparao will produce the movie. Meera surely is making every critic eat his words.
