Prashant Chaddha is the name that instantly comes to mind since he has been doing it quite consistently for songs in 'Tom Dick and Harry' and 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye', to name a few. But he is now not the lone runner in the race as another name that is fast catching up on the music video circuit is that of Kookie V. Gulati. He is the same man who has conceptualized and directed the music video of 'Marge Sohniye' for Mika's 'Something Something'. He was also recently in the news for his direction of title song of 'Pyaare Mohan' that stars Fardeen Khan and Viveik Oberoi. Things only seem to be looking better for this erstwhile associate director for Ken Ghosh's 'Ishq Vishk' and 'Fida' as he is all set to direct a full blown film. A love story that will have shades of comedy and thrills, the film will star upcoming actress Urvashi Sharma in the lead.
'Gulabi' Maheswari enters matrimony
Granduer marked the wedding of actress Maheshwari with Jayakrishna, a Hyderabad-based software pro, at hilltop temple town in Tirumala today. The marriage took place at a private Kalyana mandapam at North mada street. Maheswari forayed in to Telugu with her debut film 'Pelli' and acclaimed wide fame among the young audience in 'Gulabi'. Her debut portrayal of a jubilant girl in 'Ullasam' attained her stardom in the industry. 'Karuthamma' a film by seasoned director Bharathi Raja provided ample scope for Maheswari to deliver a serene performance in her role. She made a graceful performance and prevailed as a heroine for almost a decade in both the Telugu and Tamil cinema industry. Sridevi, Bony Kapoor, SV Krishna Reddy, Ram Gopal Varma, Meena, Sridevi (Manjula daughter), Sangeetha, Vijaykumar, Majula, Tamil hero Arun Kumar were among the film personalities who graced the wedding function. Maheshwari is the daughter o Sridevi's sister.
'Gulabi Talkies' ready
The four times Swarna Kamal award winner at the national level Girish Kasaravalli's 'Gulabi Talkies' based on the novel of Vaidehi for producer Basanthkumar Kumar Patil is ready. Basanth Productions has made 'Naayi Neralu' with the same stalwart director in the past and collected admiration. 'Naayi Neralu' besides participating in many contests and film festival has recently bagged the prestigious V.Shantharam Award. 'Gulabi Talkies' set in the island backdrop is about the happiness Gulabi gets in her surroundings watching films and television. As a protagonist she finds solutions from watching the films but the real fruit of it is materialized by her friend Nethru. In fact another face of Gulabi is this Nethru says Girish Kasaravalli. There are nearly 70 artists in this film. Director Girish Kasaravalli is showcasing some of the valuable records made by Kannada cinema interspersing it with the subject. Isac Thomas Kottukapalli is the music director. Ramachandra Ithal is the man behind camera. The top artist of Kannada cinema Umasri who is the sitting MLC represent the Muslim community in the role of 'Gulabi' says there is utmost satisfaction for her in portraying this role. She has been waiting for years to cast her in a film directed by Girish Kasaravalli. She has immensely liked the style, attempt and marketing strategy of Girish Kasaravalli. I have got a new experience in my life working in 'Gulabi Talkies' disclosed the state award singer M.D.Pallavi who plays Gulabi's friend role. I am basically crazy about working in good films. This is one such opportunity for me to work in the foremost important director of this country informed Pallavi addressing the media. Girishji says everything with authenticity. He shows us how important it is to behave but not to act complimented Pallavi. 'Gulabi Talkies' another Girish Kasaravalli film sure to conquer some awards and take part in festivals at national and international level is ready with first print. Prajwal "Gulama" for love
The underdog title has been justified. Prajwal's father Devaraj a senior actor of Kannada cinema was also not happy with the title initially but after hearing the story from debutant director Tushar Ranganath he is convinced. "Gulama" means bondsman in Kannada. In the film the hero Prajwal Devaraj is slave for love or slave for loving girl is the crux of the film says intelligent director Ranganath. He has been writing dialogues, songs and screenplay from last 10 years. Prestigious banner Ramu Enterprises was impressed with Ranganath style when he did the story for "Rakshasa". It was two years ago and since then he is in the camp of Ramu banner. "Gulama" starring Prajwal Devaraj, Sonu and Biyanka will be shot in 70 days in Mangalore, Bangalore and other places. There are six songs in "Gulama" that will be scored by Gurukiran. Ramu Enterprises 26th venture "Gulama" will be once again a big budget cinema. Ramu Entertainers roped in actor Devaraj in "Golibar" 15 years ago and now his son Prajwal is playing in the same banner with the title "Gulama".
Sridevi to act in ‘Yerra Gulabilu’ remake?
We had earlier reported that Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruthi Haasan will play a lead role in a remake of her father’s yester-year blockbuster film ‘Yerra Gulabilu’. The original movie ‘Yerra Gulabilu’ was directed by veteran filmmaker Bharathi Raja and now, the remake version will be handled by his son Manoj. And now, the latest buzz is that director Manoj has requested Kamal Haasan to sing a song in the film. And he also made a request to Sridevi through his father to play a special role in the movie. However, she is yet to finalize her decision. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring the music for this new version.
