BHOOTHNATH fame director Vivek Sharma is on cloud nine these days. Post the film's release Vivek is experiencing a new high in his life. Though BHOOTHNATH may not have, in real sense, given a super hit tag to the debutant director, but the film has been well received and appreciated by the audience at large. It in fact has benefited the director by leaps & bounds. Wondering how? Here's the answer. Apparently this one film old director Vivek has signed on not one but as many as five different prestigious projects immediately post BHOOTHNATH's success. The first on the list of direction is Vashu Bhagnani's KAL KISNE DEKHA which will mark the debut of Vashu's son Jacky. Than is Studio 18 and finally Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision. The benevolent bhoot in BHOOTHNATH seems to have worked wonders for Vivek. Apart from these projects, Vivek also has some other projects in the pipeline like with T- series and the buzz is that Tips has also approached Vivek. Almost all big banners and corporate houses have offered to work this creative film director with big signing amounts and don't be surprised if you hear an announcement from SRK's Red Chilies and Big B's ABCL too. To begin your career with someone like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan by your side is half the battle won. Vivek Sharma, on the success of his directorial debut says 'It's a great feeling to have tasted success in your very first attempt and in addition to that, to be associated with the two top notch superstars of the film fraternity, that itself gives you a high.' 'Bhoothnath will always remain very close to my heart and I will always remember what Amitabh ji told me- Don't go by the words of others, instead introspect your work which will help you in the longer run,' says Vivek. When asked whether he paid heed to Big B's golden advice? 'Of course, I feel visual narration and screen staging are some areas where I will have to work on.' Quipped Vivek. When asked about the response he got from the people in the industry, he says, 'I was both surprised and honored, when veterans like Ashutosh Gowarikar, Jaya Bachchan and Aziz Mirza praised my work and efforts.' Workaholic to the core, Vivek is already engrossed with Vashu Bhagnani's Kal Kisne Dekhaa. To which Vivek says, 'Jacky Bhagnani would be launched in Kal Kisne Dekha which is a romantic thriller. The film would also introduce Vaishali Desai in the lead role. In addition, there is a surprise element in the form of Rishi Kapoor who would play a role he has never done before.' The buzz is that this film has cameos from few of the finest actors from Bollywood and these names are being slated to big pretty Big. Shedding some light on his future projects Vivek informs, 'I am turning producer very soon and wanting to collaborate with one of the biggest presenter. Talks are on and soon you will hear big announcement from FILMZONNE, with a film, which will take Indian Cinema to another level. Then for another movie of mine with Ashtavinayak's DIL Can Fly'€”Idhar Udhar, I have signed Govinda. It is a multi-starrer, romantic-comedy which will go on floors by February." It is interesting to note that Vivek has worked really hard for his way up to the ladder. The talented Director started his career as an assistant for industry giant Mahesh Bhatt and assisted him on films like Hum Hain Raahi Pyaar Ke ,Gumraah ,Naraaz ,Tadipaar ,Chahat Gentleman ,Najaayaz ,Gunaah ,Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi, Milan, Sir. He was also associated with many prestigious projects such as Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Duplicate, Angaarey, Criminal. Vivek also worked on post production design on big films like Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai , Chalte Chalte by Aziz Mirza,Farah Khan's in Main Hoon Na ,and Paheli directed by Amol Palekar. He has not only tried his hand at direction but is equally good in scripting 'Love You Hamesha' was written by him. Vivek has directed many successful Television Commercials like Hyundai's SANTRO ZIP DRIVE with Korean Agency having Shahrukh Khan as the lead model and Ayur's 'SAANWLI SALONI', a fairness cream launched by TVC. He is associated with several Red Chillies commercials for brands like - PEPSI, VIDEOCON, Hyundai GETZ, UNICEF's Polio Campaign, etc. It is Vivek's vision towards fine cinema that is leading him to success and big names in the Bollywood are associating with him for work. Reeth is the new girl in Town
Joining the long list of charming and photo perfect girls who hopes to be seen as a celebrity the next time they walk through the streets is Reeth, who makes her debut in the film 'Aaja Gunah Kar Le'. The new girl in the Tinsel Town is not new to the film Industry as her grand father was an acclaimed editor. Not in Bollywood, but in Bengali films. Reeth just like the thousands of girls who grew up seeing whole lot of movies never thought that one day she will be cast as a heroine in a B-Town movie. Since she has no contacts in the film industry at all, Reeth thought that a tough battle with fate and luck is needed if one has to establish in the filmdom. Director Surya who is a former assistant to Ram Gopal Varma and Shriram saw Reeth's photographs and as he was looking out for a new actress and because she had the looks that he had in his mind, she was finalized to be the love interest of Kanish Gangwal in 'Aaja Gunaah Kar le'. Right now Reeth is in high spirits as she has been able to get a role so easily and also because of the reason that she is working with a director who comes from a school of ace directors. In 'Aaja Gunaah Kar Le' she plays a very exuberant character which Reeth considers very close to her real character. The budding actress who is a dance freak knows salsa, Belly dancing, lambada, jazz, reggae, samba and Kathak. She loves to do roles of the kind that Neetu Singh did in her times and her family and friends also think that she can do justice to that kind of roles. Well all the best Reeth, hope you make it big.
Tushar Jalota victimized
Tushar Jalota, hero of Mukesh Bhatt's latest release Showbiz, lost his brand new lap top. Rues Tushar, "I had gone to JW for a meeting and while leaving, I hid my lap top under the front seat. Then I had to go to meet somebody near Fame Adlabs. I parked the car on the road and when I came back, my laptop was gone. It was brand new, had all my data and was well hidden. My car has central locking, still somebody managed to open the car and steal it." Tushar has spent close to 5 years working as an assistant director under the ever watchful eyes of his mentor, Mahesh Bhatt. He has worked on six films which include Gunaah, Saaya, Murder, Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Zeher and Kalyug. It was at the insistence of Mahesh Bhatt that he joined Anupam Kher's acting academy and agreed to become an artiste.
Lyricist Praveen Bhardwaj doubles up as composer for BARSAAT
Lyricist Praveen Bhardwaj, who just recently contributed with four songs for Agam Kumar's successful album PHIR BEWAFAI, is now coming up with another album as a composer. He has just launched his debut album titled BARSAAT - THE SONG OF LOVE for which he has also written the lyrics. Newcomer Sumit Paul has sung for the album. Starting his career with 'Kem Chhe' song in 'Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai', over the years he worked with top directors & producers like Mahesh Bhatt, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ram Gopal Varma, Vikram Bhatt, Vivek Agnihotri, Vipul Shah, Deepak Tijori, Anurag Basu, Gaurang Doshi, Tinu Anand and Amol Shetge for films like Chocolate, Ankhein, Zameer, Ek Hindustani, Naam Gum Jayega, Pitah, Hathyar, Gunah, Ehsaas, Saaya, Bhoot, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon, Ishqe Diwana, Jaanasheen, Ishque Ishque and many more. His first encounter was with music director Anand Raj Anand for 'Kem Chhhe' and Parveen Bharadwaj gives him full credit for giving his career a mighty push. He has worked with many other composers like Anu Malik, Anand Milind, Jatin-Lalit, Nikhil-Vinay, Daboo Malik & Pritam. Praveen Bharadwaj has also written lyrics for super-hit non film albums like Hasrat, Tera Mera Pyar and Bewafaai. Some of his hit songs are 'Zahareeli Ratein' from Chocolate, 'Dil diwana... from Janasheen , 'Humne tumko dil ye de diya.. from Gunaah, 'Kuchh qasmein hai jawaan...' & the item song, 'Chhalka chhalka...' from Aankhen, 'Khoye khoye din' from Hum Tumhaare Hain Sanam and 'Thoda sa pyar hua hai...' from Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. His last album as music director and lyrist, 'TANHAAI'.can listen the silence' was well received by the audience. Audio was released at the hands of Champak Jain of Venus & Records Company. Jackie Shroff specially came to give his best wishes and support. Praveen Bharadwaj, who has written lyrics for more than 75 Hindi films in about six years, says, "I have reached my place as a lyricist and to grow further, music direction is the natural extension. I am happy that my first album is with company like Venus. My first film 'Vash' as Music Director is also ready for release." Praveen Bharadwaj has also launched his web site from where he plans to do worldwide release music of his own albums as direct marketing. He will also provide this platform for upcoming new singers to sell their songs directly to the listeners to avoid marketing complications and setbacks.
Tulip/Ashmit pair up in 'reincarnation' film - KABHI KAHIN
After number of superhit albums like 'Kashish Mix', Kash Aazma Le', 'Yadein' and many more, R-Vision is coming out with its new venture that is a feature film 'Kabhi Kahin'. "Kabhi Kahin' is being directed by Amol Shetge who has directed 'Gunaah', 'Rain' and lots of Marathi Films for which he has received awards also. The main starcast of the film comprises of Ashmit Patel, Tulip Joshi, Sachin Khedekar, Sanjay Narvekar and Anubhav Anand. Presently the shooting of the film is going on at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan in the debris of Kuldhara and Khaba. When asked about the film, Amol Shetge says, 'The film has a very unique and interesting storyline. Despite a complete romantic film it's a story of some friends with thrill, action and suspense as well. Based on the concept of reincarnation the treatment of the film is like it will maintain the curiosity and interest of the audience and they will eagerly wait for the next scene'. When asked about the location of the film in the debris of the Jaisalmer Amol responds, 'India is full of art, nature, elegance and there are lots of beautiful sights here. Even though many directors choose foreign locations for their film. This tradition is not good for our country. And when I got the location for my film in Jaisalmer, then what is the need to go outside?" He added, "I believe that to bring reality in our films we should choose the locations near to nature. It was my dream to shoot in the exotic locations of Rajasthan. And when R-Vision's proposal of 'Kabhi Kahin' came to me, I immediately decided to shoot this film in Rajasthan.' On the importance of beauty of actress in the film with the striking location, which one is more important for the success of the film, producer Ravindra Singh says, 'Beauty lies in the eyes of the person. In any film beauty has its own role to play either it's in the way of beautiful actress or beautiful location. Both the things are equally important for the success of the film.' As Kabhi Kahin is a romantic film, Ravindra Singh is not in the mood for any kind of compromise for the music. According to Ravindra Singh, 'With the story, we are giving much importance on the music also. We have done a lot of hard work on the melody of the songs. Moksh Group and Raes Bartiya have done a marvelous job on the lyrics written by Anwar Sagar. The songs of the film are easy on ear, as music is the USP of the film. With the melodious voice of Shreya Ghoshal and Madhushri, I have also given my voice in the songs.'
Irrfan Khan repeated by Vishesh films
Years back Irrfan Khan made his foray into big league with VISHESH FILMS' 'Kasoor' [2001]. While he was seen in films like 'Gunaah' [2002] and 'Footpath' [2003] later on, he got promoted to the lead role with 'ROG' [2005]. The film bombed in a big way but that didn't deter the association between Khan and the Bhatts. That's the reason why he was the first choice of the production house and the film's director duo of Raksha Mistry and Hasnain Hyderabadwaala when the screenplay was being written for their upcoming film 'THE KILLER'. Irrfan Khan was unanimously chosen for the role played by Tom Cruise in the film's Hollywood inspiration 'Collateral'. With this, Irrfan Khan now finds himself playing the central role once again!
