Genelia made her debut as heroine through 'Boys' simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages. Later she played several good roles in various films. She played opposite all the heroes of the present generation including Nithin, Siddhartha, Venkatesh, NTR, Vishnu, Allu Arjun. However, she failed to earn enough name which she ought to. Last year, she played a good character as 'Hasini' in 'Bommarillu' produced by Dil Raju. More than a good character, it is the main character in this film. Her character is the highlight of the film, as it was moulded as a bubbly, innocent and at the same time a girl with individuality, besides a sensitive girl. The character had impressed every one so much that the director of the film, Bhaskar had also given a statement that he wanted to marry a girl who had the characteristics of 'Hasini'. After that character earned her a very good name, everyone was of the opinion that Genelia would bag many offers and she will become very busy. But to the dismay of all of them she remained very free. Now, she bagged an offer to play heroine in 'Mr Medhavi'. According to sources close to Genelia, the heroine is showing interest to do films only which would earn her such a recognition like the one in 'Bommarillu'.
Genelia restates 'Hasini' in Bollywood
Genelia an ever jubilant girl started her career as a debutante at the same point of time in three movies in different languages. The movies 'Boys' (Tamil), 'Sathyam' (Telugu), 'Tuje Meri Kasam' (Hindi) starred her in the lead roles which was made in 2003. She is now on cloud nine, triumphing over a series of blockbusters in the South. Genelia was away from Bollywood for awhile, as she was occupied with Telugu and Tamil flicks which was under progress. The recent spectacular hit 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane na' attained her fabulous fame and proposals for new projects started queuing in for the actress. Among them Genelia stars for the third time as Hasini in the Hindi remake of the Telugu Blockbuster 'Bommarillu'. The remakes usually will feature heroines who are widely recognized in their respective industries but Genelia had the rare opportunity to play the role of 'Hasini' in all the three versions as she is known widely. The Hindi version titled as 'It's my Life' is produced by Bony Kapoor.
Hasini is Genelia
Genelia, who debuted in Kollywood through the Shankar directed film 'Boys' and rose to absolute stardom with the blockbuster 'Santosh Subramaniam', is an infrequent kind of an actress who has the rare combination of both the suave performance and charming looks. With more and more of her films becoming major hits at the box office of Kollywood, Tollywood and Bollywood, Genelia has been flooded with offers from producers and her schedule has become too hectic to commit herself to other projects. But despite her chalk-a-block schedule, the actress always looks refreshingly different. When she was asked on her fresh looks, Genelia answers in her trademark style as, 'Is it? I don't know. I guess I am just growing up. Perhaps the reason could be my 'take it easy' attitude like Hasini in 'Santosh Subramaniam'. I am neither irked nor bothered by things happening around me. I am always cool, confident and cheerful.'
