She is all set to make a racy a debut in 'Nishabd' the Indian take on 'Lolita' opposite none other than the biggest superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Directed by Ram Gopal Verma. She has already set Bollywood afire with her sensuality and her devil-care-attitude by falling in love with a much older person in her first film itself. She is presently in London and has sent her birthday wishes to Mr. Bachchan. Here's what she said in her own words: We can only be a said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures. My first little treasure has been working with Mr. B in my first film, Happy Birthday, Mr. Bachchan!! Meeting Mr. Bachchan the first time was nerve racking but he has the ability to calm your nerves and makes you feel settled which for an actor is vital. Throughout my first shot with him I only remember his performance in 'Black' I may have learnt more from him than I learnt at lee strasberg institute of acting. He is a genius of an actor and watching him act before my eyes was like watching da vinci paint. He was very sexy in 'Zanjeer', he had the persona of Clint Eastwood. As an actor he sets a perfect example, for someone like me to look upto. I am grateful for his presence and feeling a sense of gratitude to him.

The man considered to be one of the greatest talents India has ever produced in the field of movie direction is celebrating his birthday today ' 2nd June. Every single actor and technician in India who wants to make it big has an enduring desire to be part of this director's team. Mani Ratnam's first movie 'Pallavi Anupallavi' was made in Kannada and brought to light the emotional struggles of a man in love with a woman older than himself. Though the movie bombed at the box office, the movie was successful in garnering a Karnataka state award. Many critics felt at that time that the movie was much ahead of its time. But there was no stopping Mani Ratnam. He went on to make a string of movies in Tamil that rocked audiences with what was to be later called 'the Mani Ratnam style'. 'Mouna Ragaam' is the story about a woman who is ever so passionate about her love life before marriage that she cannot come to terms with her marriage with a groom of her parents' choice. Then came 'Nayagan', starring Kamal Haasan. The dark story of a helpless and homeless boy who goes on to become the undisputed don of the underworld. The movie won such rave reviews worldwide and a feather in the cap of Mani Ratnam's career is the fact that Nayagan has made it to the top 100 of Time Magazine's All Time Greatest movies. Then came 'Agni Natchathiram' and 'Anjali' which were huge box office successes. 'Dalapathi' saw superstar Rajinikanth join hands with the ace director. The success was unimaginable. A young wife battling political and rebellious situations in order to get back her kidnapped husband with war torn Kashmir as the backdrop had a stunning effect on audiences all over India. The movie was also hailed for it's intriguing patriotic spirit. The film 'Bombay' pictured an embittered Mumbai city caught in riots and lives of lovers caught in it all. The husband a Hindu and the wife a Muslim, love one another and plod on to victory not letting the surrounding mayhem affect them. the movie stated beautifully that in times of adversity, true love can only get stronger. With these films Mani Ratnam had captured national attention and become a household name in India. 'Alaipayuthey' rocked South India with its smooth screenplay and slick direction big time. The story of a boy and girl getting married secretly and living their lives with their respective families as though nothing had happened became the object of fascination among young minds. Passion overflowing in abundance among the central characters showed sparks of Mani Ratnam's understanding of youthful exuberance. The film was remade in Hindi titled 'Saathya' starring Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukherjee. The presentation of Yuva was exceptional in the sense that one incident becomes the focal point and connects the lives of three individuals. Handling of the artists and the treatment was slick. His latest flick 'Guru' with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai was critically acclaimed and went on to be a huge money grosser. Industry sources suggest that the team is coming together for another movie. The Tamil version of the film is to feature Vikram in the place of Abhishek Bachchan. Happy Birthday 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan

Kalyan is the younger brother of Mega Star Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu. It takes a few years for his elder brother to earn the name and fame in Telugu film industry. But, Kalyan had everything smooth at the time of his launch as hero with a heavy fan following of Chiranjeevi. Moreover, his second brother Nagababu is a producer and another member of their family Allu Aravind is also an ace producer. Born on September 2, 1971, Kalyan is quite simple, humble and is away from publicity. Movies were never his passion. He spent a plenty of time in his youth to practice martial arts. That practice made him to gain self-confidence and it taught to grow up in a disciplined way. Kalyan, in order to clarify the comments by some critics over his skills in martial arts organized a show in Ravindra Barathi. After the programme, he was awarded the title 'Pawan', symbolizing Lord Hanuman. From then onwards Kalyan became popular Pawan Kalyan. He is also fondly called as Power Star by his fans. When it comes to his private life, Pawan Kalyan is a pure vegetarian. He is highly influenced by Jiddu Krishnamurthy and Vivekananda's philosophy. Pawan Kalyan made his debut appearance through 'Akkada Abbai Ikkada Ammayi' in 1996. Though it is an average grosser, Pawan earned a good identification in the film industry. Especially his experience and expertise in martial arts boosted the action scenes in the film and made him quite popular. After his first film, Pawan Kalyan has become choosy while selecting subjects. This had helped him in giving successive hits. Right from the second film 'Gokulamlo Sita' (1997) all his films including Suswagatham (1997), Tholi Prema (1998), Thammudu (1999), Badri (2000) and Khushi (2001) became big hits and brought him a good reputation. He was able to get a huge following with these six movies and able to make his seventh movie 'Khushi' collect more than Rs 20 crores. All his films were dealt with different themes. However, 'Khushi' has brought a revolution in his career and proved a biggest hit of that year and the biggest hit in his career. Pawan Kalyan is known for his ease and perfect timing in comedy. He is more flexible during the action scenes as well. After the release of Khushi, Pawan Kalyan took a long gap of two years in his film career. He went to Japan for a brief period to learn a martial art called Akido. He learnt this stunt to use in his first directorial venture 'Johnny' (2003). The film had Renu Desai in the female lead against him. Later, he married her. Pawan Kalyan's favorite director is Akira Kurosawa and hence he named his son after him as Akira Nandan. Though 'Johnny' did not fare well at box-office, it earned a good name for Pawan Kalyan as director. According to him a film is not just for entertainment or commercial profit, but it should educate the audiences. His film 'Gudumba Shankar' (2004) also proved an average grosser, as his fans expected some action-oriented film, but the film is a comedy entertainer. Next '?ÂÂ?Balu'?ÂÂ? (2005) and '?ÂÂ?Bangaram'?ÂÂ? (2006). A lot of hype was created on 'Bangaram' and there were lots of expectations on the film as it came from the makers of 'Khushi'. Let us recall a powerful dialogue in 'Bangaram' '?ÂÂ? Kattullo, Kodavallalo kaaduraa'?¦ gundello untundi pourusham antey'?¦ Adi ee Bangaram ki kaavalasinta undi'?¦. ('Guts will be there in one's heart and not in swords or sickles. It is abundant in this 'Bangaram'). This statement in his reel life applies to his real life as well. Pawan Kalyan never felt disappointed with failures and is now working with a renewed vigor. He is maintaining a low and secret profile about his latest film 'Annavaram', a remake of Tamil blockbuster 'Tirupachi', which is being directed by Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao and jointly produced by N.V. Prasad and Paras Jain on the banner of Mega Super Good films. Asin is pairing up with him in the female lead and Sandhya of 'Premiste'-fame is donning the role of his sister. Moreover, for the first time, his mega brother Nagababu is also doing a powerful police officer's role in that film. We have to wait and watch the character and characterization of the Power Star in 'Annavaram'. Hope he would look novel, different and stylish in this latest film. The entire unit kept their fingers crossed and did not reveal even a small hint about 'Annavaram'. Let us wish 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan a Happy Birthday and wish his latest flick 'Annavaram' a big hit.
