Hariharan turns music maker
We can wonder why it took so long for this immensely talented singer to try composing music for films. Whether it is the Hindustani style of singing or the traditional carnatic music of south India, the expertise and proficiency of Hariharan in both of these styles can be understood by the soulful and heart touching songs that he has sung. This singer whose talent was first noticed as a Ghazal singer later went on to prove that he is equally good in lending his voice for youthful numbers which have traces of western music influence to a great extent. Although the album 'Colonial Cousins' composed by Hariharan and Leslie Lewis made a great impact world wide, the two men team have not released a second album till now. After a long gap the composing skills of Hariharan will be tested again with the film 'Modhi Vilayadu' directed by Charan. There is news floating around that this senior singer was promised a mammoth Rs.75 lakhs. Not a surprise given the number of evergreen hit songs that has been given life by this senior all round singer and the reputation for him to be one of the most talented singers in the country.
