Karan Mehra's celebrates holi after four years!!

Karan Mehra was looking forward to playing holi this year but how it would start was something he hadn't imagined. A day before holi, Karan after his shoot was packing up to leave for home when the team of his show, Betiyaan Apna ya Paraya Dhan in which he plays the character of Nishaanth, asked him to wait to make some scheduling changes. And just when Karan was in deep thoughts to manage his date, they showered him with colour. Karan didn't mind it one bit, because he was going to be playing holi after four years, with a terrible experience of coming down with typhoid last year. But this year, he was more than glad because not only was he free, his sister had also come down from Delhi to join in for the celebrations. Looks like someone had a jolly good holi!

Big B not to celebrate Holi

Amitabh Bacchan has announced that he will not celebrate the festival of colours this time around. In his blog, he said, ''We will not celebrate Holi this year as we do not feel comfortable when our own people have lost lives in the Pune German Bakery blast on February 13." The blast that shocked the nation has left an indelible impression on the actor's mind too. The mind-numbing terror attack, that worsened our fears, has forced the actor to not celebrate Holi. However, he extended wishes to the nation. On the other hand, Big B is angry about a prominent news group's publication of reports regarding Aishwarya's marriage. Calling the reports as false and baseless, he said that though he had written to the newspaper seeking clarification, he has not received any. It is known that Amitabh has always denied such reports in the past. Saying that he and his family do not believe in "superstitions," he re-iterated in the past that the reports were concocted by the media. Let's see if the media stops being excessively Bacchan-obsessed, this time at least!

'The Dirty Politics' release postponed to Holi

Mallika Sherawat-starrer "The Dirty Politics", which was earlier slated to release Feb 13, will now hit the screens March 6, which happens to be Holi. The reason behind the delay is to avoid a clash with other films, and to record one more song. The film's director K.C. Bokadia told: "Earlier my film was supposed to release on Feb 13, but since my song 'Ghaghra' is doing really well, we have decided to record one more song for this film. So, Mallika will be shooting for this song on Feb 13, 14 and 15." Bokadia says March 6 gives them a "good window" due to the festival of Holi, which also falls on the same day. "It's better to release your film separately than to have two to three releases the same day," he said. The director also clarified that Mallika will not be shooting an item song for the movie, and that it will be a situational number.

Mani Ratnam Karthi Aditi Rao Hyadari Kaatru Veliyida a Holi celebration song shot in Chennai

As we have reported earlier, director Mani Ratnam is presently busy shooting for his upcoming Tamil film 'Kaatru Veliyidai' which has Karthi and Aditi Rao Hyadari in lead roles. The latest update about the shoot we learn from a reliable source is that recently the veteran director has completed canning a grand Holi celebration song in Binny Mills, Chennai. The lead pair will be featured in the song along with other actors and many dance assistants. it is worth noting that Mani Ratnam's classic blockbuster 'Nayagan' had a Holi song 'Andhi mazhai megam' and this song's phenomenal success paved way for many such Holi songs in Tamil films. While 'Andhi Mazhai Megam' had the musical score of Isaignani Ilaiyaraja, this song has been composed by Isaipuyal A.R.Rahman. The master director seems to have recreated the same magic and this will definitely be a treat to watch on the silver screen for which we will have to wait for some months. .
