Famous House Of Animation on an Award winning spree
Famous House Of Animation has bagged the Asian Youth Animation and Comic Contest & China (Guiyang) Cartoon Art Festival (AACC), Asifa India Award For Excellence 2007. It has also been nominated and is now amongst the five short listed ads in the Best PSA Category for the upcoming Asia Image Apollo Awards 2007. Famous House of Animation (FHOA), is flying high these days with some extremely prestigious awards under its belt. FHOA has recently won the Best Character Design Award for their animated ad film BBC Chunnilal made for British World Service Trust (BBC WST) at the first edition of the Asian Youth Animation and Comic Contest & China (Guiyang) Cartoon Art Festival (AACC) held in Guiyang, China recently. The same ad film has also been nominated for the Asia Image Apollo Awards 2007 which will be held on 28th Nov'07. Asia Image Apollo Awards is known for recognizing the best in broadcast, production, and post, it is Asia Pacific's only regional Awards programme for craft and technical excellence. The BBC Chunnilal ad is among the five short listed PSA's in the Best PSA category of the Apollo awards. And that's not all; FHOA has also won the esteemed Asia India Award For Excellence 2007, which celebrates the very best in animation across the country. They have won the award in the Best Professional Film category for the animated ad of DTC Diamonds. BBC Chunnilal is short animated film about Chunnilal, a forgetful husband, with a social message which was made with the initiative of BBC WST. It was made with the aim of spreading awareness about HIV- AIDS and has received huge critical appreciation all over, winning an award for the same comes as an icing on the cake for FHOA. Speaking about the BBC Chunnilal film, E Suresh, Creative Director, Famous House of Animation, says, 'We had a great time in getting the structure cracked as the jingle written by Sumit had a lot to offer visually. From the challenge of creating the character 'Chunnilal' who had to appeal to the masses of UP, Bihar etc, where the film was targeted, to creating the neighborhood in miniature that too resembling the lower income group houses/surroundings were exciting tasks that my team and I engaged ourselves for 8 weeks. Meanwhile we created the track with the renowned music director Rajat Dholakia.' Famous House of Animation is one of the best quality animation studios in the country. Founded in 1998 FHOA are the pioneers in Clay animation [claymation] and doll animation in India and also cater to film making needs whether it is in 2D/3D/stop motion/ stylized/experimental live action, etc. They have credible ads like Amaron Kumbhakaran, Amaron-Hare & Tortoise, Top Ramen noodles, ICICI Chintamani ads, Cadbury 2-in-1 ads etc in their kitty. Poga series done by them on MTV was also immensely popular. Currently the Tata Sky 2d ad made by them is on air.
A big house is back
After a long gap, the famed production house Sathya Movies founded by MGR will be churning out a movie in Tamil. Owned by former Minister and a trusted lieutenant of MGR, R M Veerappan, Sathya Movies would be jointly producing with Sathya Jothy Thyagarajan, a movie titled Emdan Magan. The movie features Bharath and Gopika in the lead roles. Directing the movie would be Metti Oli fame Thirumurugan. The shooting for the movie would commence on 30 March in Chennai. While Sathya Jothy's last production venture was Parthiban Kanavu, Sathya Movies last produced Rajini starrer Basha. It's a good sign indeed that the likes of Sathya Movies are back to production.
Yash Chopra honoured at House of Commons
Yash Chopra has added yet another feather in his cap by being invited to the House of Lords and House of Commons to be honoured. What made this occasion even more special was that he was invited by the ROKO Cancer charity (a cause very close to the hearts of both Mr. & Ms. Chopra) to accept Patronage to the Charity and was facilitated by Rt. Hon. Keith Vaz (MP), Tony Baldry (MP) and John Barret (MP). On 17th May, he had lunch at the House of Lords and in the evening was honoured at the House of Commons, where he shared his thoughts with various dignitaries, community leaders and the press ' Mr. Chopra said: 'Indian Cinema is plagued with its own cancer of piracy, the blatant theft of copyright of intellectual property, the cognisance to the creators' dues... we have been trying to find a cure for this, but it has now spread in to the roots of the system and I wonder if we will ever find this much needed cure... The ROKO cancer society has embarked on their own battle to fight cancer and has been doing a splendid job in creating awareness for the dreaded disease among young women... indeed a yeoman's service to society ' I applaud their efforts and pay my own humble tribute for their service. Good Music has been known to cure diseases... good films provide solace to suffering people... so while they work hard at medical aspects of this disease, I promise to continue making better films and music so we are also able to relieve those who are suffering in the only way we know how'.
Anthony Gonsalves and THE HOUSE OF HORRORS
House of Horrors to be launched in Ahmedabad Through the world of cinema we have experienced unseen horrors. It will now be possible to have a brush with these mind-boggling creatures of our imagination at the " House of Horrors" which is all set to be launched for the first time in Ahmedabad at the Iskon Mall, after their success in Mumbai and Pune. A common sight abroad it is more often a part of theme parks and now in India this will be their third opening. House Of Horrors is a joint effort by Satish Reddy and Dr. Tanaz Irani. " The House of Horrors is a unique concept where it give the visitor a thrilling, spine chilling, hair raising, goose bump creating experience through a 10 ' 15 minute tour. Here we have made an effort to give people horror experience like never before," says Dr. Tanaz Irani. The entire team of the upcoming movie "My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves', which includes actress Amrita Rao, Nikhil Dwivedi and director E.Niwas will grace the opening and other celebraties like Tanaaz Currim, Bhaktiyar Irani, Neha Ahuja (Miss India Asia), Shibani Kashyshap. Siddharth Kannan, Sambhavana Sheth, Munisha Khatwani and Salman Ahmed from Madame Tussauds London, will be present. House Of Horrors has Top Twelve walkthrough attractions. As you enter your heart will shiver and as you proceed to a jungle which creates an ambience with breathtaking snakes, bats, etc. and the loneliness walk brings you into the isolated graveyard with gory dead bodies lying with skeletons, heads on sticks. The computer-generated sound effects are a thing to watch out for. "The market for horror comprising the movies and such amusement parks is worth 30 million in the US, the Indian market however is untapped. Also it is meant for all age groups, the grit to face the skulls and ghostly shadows specially designed to scare the wits out of you. We have attempted to Indianize this horrifying concept of the west," says Satish Reddy. Well, if you thought horror was only limited to the movies, The House of Horrors proves otherwise'
'House-full' takes the second step
House-full true to its name is expected to run packed houses with its unique theme of a romantic comedy entertainer that also packs a thriller sideline. Ajay Bhuyan makes his first directorial venture with this movie casting the double pair Vipin, Vega and Aryan, Gouri Pandit in the main lead. Production house Filmotsav of Chandra Siddharth produces this movie. The movie was launched during Dussera on 9th of October. In the first schedule, that was done till 21st Oct, a song along with some scenes were completed. The second schedule starts today (30th Oct) and the movie will be completed with this schedule. 'Ajay Bhuyan's narration of the story was parallel with my taste and thoughts which motivated me to make this movie. He did his graduation from New York Film Institute and also apprenticed under Suresh productions which pads up his skills. A total of five songs are being made for this film,' concluded producer Chandra Siddharth. Ajay Bhuyan who makes his first in an innovative manner said, 'The events in the story takes place in a single night and is narrated within the two hours of the movie. It's a new style of narration in the screenplay. Ali is entrusted with a meaty role and the main cast includes a dual pair of hero and heroines.' Music is composed by Anup. Nainy Deekshit, Ali, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, and others are a part of the prominent cast of the movie.
