Hum Rajpal Yadav Bol Rahe Hain

He is a powerhouse of talent. And the moment he bursts on to the screen, the public expect him to be the mainstay of a movie. That's called: The Rajpal Yadav effect. The diminutive actor from Shahjahanpur has come a long way from winning the Filmfare Best Actor in a Negative role in 'Jungle'. After making his presence felt in the super hit 'Phir Hera Pheri' and being one of the main reasons for watching 'Chup Chup Ke', Rajpal is eagerly looking forward to two solo films 'Ladies Tailor' and 'Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain'. In 'Ladies Tailor' he shall be seen having designs on the tempting Kim Sharma while 'Hum Lalla Bol Rahe Hain' is in news because it is being produced by Nazim Rizvi. Yes, the same Nazim Rizvi who had produced Salman Khan's 'Chori Chori Chupke Chupke' and had been booked for having links with underworld don Chota Shakeel. Rizvi is out on bail and is busy giving interviews about his innocence and why he is making small films as compared to the biggie that he got caught with. It goes without saying that Rajpal is looking smashing from the stills of 'HLBRH' that are so far available in the media. Rajpal's earlier stint with solo leads in 'Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon' and 'Main Meri Patni Aur Woh' were highly appreciated. Both were labeled as flop films although Rajpal's performance was highly appreciated. While good actors like Arshad Warsi say it openly that it is not wise for them to do expect their solo films to be viable at the Box Office, Rajpal Yadav is still going ahead with the risk. It goes without saying that people in the interiors of the country love him and considering the low costs of his films, there's a good chance of him succeeding.

Humko Deewana Kar Gaye is a real life story

Cinema is considered a mirror of real life. Humko Deewana Kar Gaye stands evidence to this. A couple living in Toronto inspires the film made by Raj Kanwar. Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif play the lead. The film is inspired by a couple that Raj met in Canada two years ago through his common friends. The couple was engaged to someone else before they got married. This is also the story of Raj's film. In the film Akshay plays an auto engineer Aditya who is engaged to Sonia (Bipasha) a fashion designer. Jia (Katrina) is also engaged to someone else. The story unfolds in Calgary in Canada where Aditya and Jia fall for each other. Of the two in real life, the man is from Punjab and the woman is from some Asian country. The film tries to tell people how we fall for just one person in life whatever be the conditions. The film will premiere on April 13 in Toronto and the couple will be made public on that very day. They shall also be the guests of honor for the evening. The film celebrates the spirit of love.

Humko Deewana Kar Gaye in UK top 10

The U T V - distributed mega release, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (*ing Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu & Anil Kapoor), has opened strongly in the UK. The gross from its previews and 4-day Easter weekend was a staggering ?£ 219,981. With this title, U T V gives Akshay Kumar his highest ever solo opening in the UK. The opening of Humko Deewana Kar Gaye was even bigger than director Raj Kanwar's previous release, Andaaz, which had fared well in the UK. On the basis of its weekend performance (April 14-16), despite being on only 38 screens, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye has made its way to the coveted UK Top 10 list (Source: EDI) at # 10. It ranks above Western titles such as HOSTEL (Sony / 217 screens), THE PINK PANTHER (20th CENTURY FOX / 272 screens), YOURS, MINE & OURS (Sony / 240 screens), THE SQUID AND THE WHALE (Sony / 18 screens) and THE DARK (MOMENTUM / 179 screens).

Humko Deewana Kar Gaye - now on DVD

Talking of 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye' and its music, the film has just been released all over on DVD and VCD! This Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif film that also starred Anil Kapoor and Bipasha Basu in guest appearances looked to be a sure shot success at the box office before its release but surprisingly has barely managed to inch towards the 15 crore coverage mark. Now with the original DVD/VCD on this family film being floated in the market, one can expect some good sales since the subject is reasonably appealing to the middle aged group, especially ladies, who generally avoid visiting multiplexes/single screen theatres and instead prefer to watch a movie in the comfort of their homes!
