Social media and Kalaignar Tv are gearing up to celebrate this festive season with much fanfare and exuberance. The team has roped in some of the popular singers in tinsel town like Karthik, Benny Dayal, Jessie Gift, Suchitra, Chinmayai,Deepa Mariam and Belly Raj. Popular pairs Lokesh- Suji Bala and Ranjeet -Aiswarya from 'Manada Mayilada'(Kalaignar TV's popular show) and comedians would also perform for this special Deepavali event titled as 'ILLAMAI SARAVEDI' which would provide a wholesome entertainment for the viewers. This on ground event will be held on 18th of October at the venue of University Centenary Hall from 6pm onwards and the show will be aired on Kalaignar Tv as a part of special programmes for Deepavali. Earlier Social media and Kalaignar had organized the first ever 'Tamil Music Award', which was later telecasted on 'Isaiaruvi', a music channel. The show garnered a channel's share of 27% and this time around they are confident of repeating the success.
Namitha exited to play cop in Ilamai Oonjal
Southern actress Namitha, known for her glamorous roles in films such as "Aai" and "Chanakya" over the years, is excited to don the khaki for the first time on screen in upcoming Tamil-Telugu-Kannada trilingual "Ilamai Oonjal". She is extremely happy to steer away from monotonous roles she has been doing for a long time. "It was a conscious decision to play a cop role. I'm excited as well as happy because in a very long time, I have got an opportunity to do something different. The director even offered me one of the heroines' roles in the film, but I refused because I wanted a challenging role," Namitha said "I don't think I want to do any glamorous roles anymore. I don't mind strong character roles as well. I'm glad I got this opportunity to play a cop. I managed to pull off some stunt sequences as well in the film. I think this will be my best part so far in my career," she added. Over the years, Namitha has also featured in a few item numbers across Tamil, Kannada and Telugu industries. Directed by Harirajan, "Ilamai Oonjal" is getting ready for release soon.
