Romeo Juliet and Innimey Ippadithaan are the two awaited Tamil movies slated for June 12th release. Advance bookings of these Friday releases are happening in full swing, given the craze of their lead stars Jayam Ravi, Hansika and Santhanam. Romeo Juliet and Innimey Ippadithaan are touted to be out and out rom-coms that marks the second time combo of Ravi-Hansika and Santhanam-Ashna Zaveri, after Engeyum Kadhal, Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham, respectively. Directed by Muruganand of Lollu Sabha fame, Santhanam himself produced Innimey Ippadithaan on his Handmade Films banner, Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies is distributing it. S Nanthagopal's Madras Entertainments presents, Ravi's Romeo Juliet is written and directed by Lakshman. D Imman is the music director. Vamsi Krishna, Poonam Bajwa are also part of the movie. Ravi-Hansika's Romeo Juliet is releasing worldwide in 350+ screens with 150 mins running time, while Innimey Ippadithaan is locked to 134 mins running time and has its share of best theaters. Press Meet of Inimey Nangathan
The press meet of the first 3 D animated Tamil movie, Inimey Nangathan, took place at Sathyam Theatres yesterday. Produced by Sridevi Rao for Mayabimbham Media and directed by S Venky Baboo, this film has a lot of firsts to its credit. Besides being India's first animated movie in a regional language, this film is also India's first non mythological animated film with an original storyline. Also, the first 3 D Tamil animation movie with 2 K resolution, this film will also be the first movie to release in Analogue/Digital/IMAX and 3 D versions. These are not all. This film, which will be on par with international animation standards, will be the first Tamil film to release in many languages worldwide. Stalwarts like Maestro Ilayaraja, Editor Lenin, Dance Master Shiv Shankar and Lyricist Valee have got together for this film. This film has been made in Chennai with local professionals, who have taken care of everything including post-production works. The CEO of Asian Sky Entertainment, Nag Ravi, gave an introduction about the film. The event was a great success with the presence of AVM Saravanan, Santhanabharathy, S J Suryah, RD Rajasekhar, Sathyaraj, Sibiraj, director Saran and director Lingusamy, among others. This film is slated for a worldwide release in late December 2006.
Inimay Nangadhan, a big draw among children
Director Venky Baboo's first animation film in Tamil cinema Inimay Nangadhan has opened well in Chennai. The film is about Vichu, Varadhu, Vaithi and Govind, four friends, making a livelihood out of Kathakalakshepam. Aiming to become richer, they meet a Swamiji, who asks them to retrieve a holy necklace from Rakshasas. On their way, the four comes across many interesting places which they would never have dreamt of. However, the thirst for money splits the four friends. What happens next forms the climax. India's first 2K animation movie, produced by Sridevi, the movie throws light on the technical expertise available in the country. The dubbing lend to the characters by Pandu, Vasu Vikram, M S Baskar, and Maran is a big hit. The songs set to tune by Illayaraja are already a hit. Children queued up in large numbers in several theatres to watch the movie.
Santhanam performs stunts sans body double in 'Innimey...'
Comedian Santhanam, who is gradually transforming himself into a full-fledged hero, has performed stunts without the help of body doubles in upcoming Tamil romantic-comedy "Innimey Ippadithaan". "This is a romantic comedy, but there are a few thrilling fight sequences. Santhanam performed these scenes without the help of body doubles. The effort he has put into this project to appeal to all sections of the audience is commendable," read a statement from the makers. According to director duo Prem Anand and Murugan, Santhanam had promised to introduce them in one of his projects. "We've known him since his television days. He had promised to introduce us as directors in one of his projects. He kept his word and we're delighted about it," Prem and Murugan said. The film, which is slated for release on May 22, features Ashna Zaveri and Akhila Kishore in the female lead roles.
