Sanjay Suri re-launches site; interacts with fans

There is good news for all Sanjay Suri fans. Sanjay has re-launched his website and is looking forward to becoming much more accessible with his fans as well as professionals who may wish to get in touch with him. "There was this site of mine which was created around 3 years back but it always had some areas of improvements", says Sanjay, "I along with my web designer worked on this entire professional feel that we wanted to give to the site." "The idea was not just to add some pictures and give it a snazzy look and feel", he adds, "In addition the purpose was to have an interactive site where audience could come in, post their comments on what they loved or hated about me or my film, get in touch with me, access information about my past and forthcoming films along with other usual details." What more is in the offering here? "Navigation was given key importance. So many times it happens that one gets lost in what to see and in the process misses out in accessing some information for his use. This is why it was of utmost importance to make the site so user friendly that a person accessing the website knows in a jiffy what was there in the offering", he explains. How about current affairs surrounding him? "That is one area that will be regularly monitored; actually on an almost daily basis", he divulges, "So while information about me coming in electronic and print media would be accumulated, in case there are any rumors that are required to be set straight, I would be adding my own comments in the news section." Apart from fans, any other target set of visitors that he had in mind? "Film makers who want to see my work from the past and get in touch with me for their projects", he says quickly, "In fact you would be surprised to know that makers of some of the recent films that I have locked in approached me though my website itself. It is a great medium and though in West it is being used in an extremely professional manner, in India it is catching up well too!" Ram's moving interaction with 5-year-old fan

A gesture by Ram to call on a 5-year-old, paralyzed kid from Vizag is getting laurels. Kundana Poorna Chandrika is a big fan of Ram. Paralyzed from waist down, she had the opportunity to interact with Ram when the hero was in Vizag the last time while shooting for Shivam. This time too, her parents wanted to fulfill her wish to spend time with her favourite actor. Since they couldn't get in touch with him, the father decided to let Ram know about it through a newspaper. When the news was brought to Ram's notice, the actor contacted the parents and met Kundana at her residence. Ram was visibly moved to tears when the girl went on to describe at length her favourite scenes from his movies. She also spoke about her favourite dance moves of Ram. Seeing Ram in tears, the parents too broke down. The girl was unconscious about all this and spent happy time with the hero. Ram reportedly asked for the kid's medical reports. He obviously wanted to see if something can be done about the kid's condition. When the girl told him she wanted to watch Ram during the making, Ram said OK and made all arrangements for it. He even invited the family to lunch with him. The girl's parents have expressed their happiness over Ram's gesture.

New MIT technology allows 3D image interaction

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have found a way to allow people in one place to interact with three-dimensional versions of people or objects in a different location. MIT's Tangible Media Group calls the technology inFORM. A person in one location moves or puts an object in front of a depth-sensing camera. That camera sends signals to a motorized pin screen somewhere else and that's where the 3D image pops up. If someone on camera is moving his hands, for example, that movement would show up on the pin screen in another location. They hope the technology can eventually be used by urban planners and architects. It could also be used by doctors and others who need to look at CT scans.
