Sarath in 'Jaggubhai'?

No one would have forgotten the fanfare and the hype that surrounded the announcement of superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Jaggubhai', under the direction of K.S. Ravikumar, a few years ago. The magical combo of 'Padayappa' (Superstar and K.S. Ravikumar) created much expectation after the forgettable experience with 'Baba'. However, the project was dropped for reasons unknown to the public. Rajini then went on to team up with P. Vasu for 'Chandramukhi', and the rest, as they say, is history. Now the buzz is that 'Jaggubhai' resurfaces with a different name in the lead. According to a grapevine, K.S. Ravikumar is all set to restart the process of making 'Jaggubhai' and he has opted for 'supreme star' instead of super star. It is tipped that Sarath Kumar would play the lead role. One of the reasons sited for Rajini's withdrawal from the project was its political overtone. The superstar was apparently not comfortable with a film that has strong political message. For Sarath, who has become a political leader with aspirations to capture the power, the political movie would be an ideal and natural choice. Since Sarath ' K.S. Ravikumar combo too is a successful one, the project, if takes off, would create sensation. However, the circle close to Sarath denies the news on 'Jaggubhai'. While the sources confirm a new project of Sarath with K.S. Ravikumar, they say that it is not 'Jaggubhai'. Whether the new project would be a political subject is yet to be known.

Shriya elated with 'Jaggubhai'

Shriya Saran is happy at being part of a Sarath Kumar's film 'Jaggubhai'. The pretty damsel, who hogged the limelight doing movies like 'Sivaji' and 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan', is more than happy to enact a meaty role and that too in a film to be directed by K S Ravikumar. She says, 'it is a girl-centric script and I am sure to have a great opportunity to perform well'. 'Jaggubhai' interestingly was supposed to star Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. However due to undisclose reasons, the project was shelved. The film is to be made with Sarath Kumar now. Says the actress, 'I am very impressed by the story narrated by K S Ravikumar and I felt doubly so, when I came to know that superstar Rajinikanth had once planned to act in this movie.' When asked about the story, Shriya said, 'it's all about a dotting father, who cares for his daughter. The travails he faces and the challenges he overcomes forms the crux.' Shriya is hopeful that the movie would go on to prove that she can not only ooze with glamour but also can perform challenging roles on screen with eased and ©lan.

Was That Really Jaggu Bhai's Voice?

Yesteryear actor Jagapathi Babu is the busiest artist in Telugu. He is also getting villain and other character artist roles in star hero films in Tamil and Malayalam. Jaggu Bhai has got a great opportunity to associate with Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg and he is quite excited for this. Jagapathi Babu has lent his voice for the lead role in Telugu version of upcoming Hollywood flick 'The BFG'. Apparently, they have used many filters and other technology, since we won't feel it was Jagapathi Babu's voice. Since the animation character 'The BFG' is old, Jaggu Bhai was required uttering the dialogues with shivering voice. Seems like, the Hollywood filmmakers have roped in Japathi Babu to cash on his popularity. For the Tamil version, senior actor Nasser has dubbed for the role. 'The BFG' is based on 1982 children's book of same name written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake. It is an expansion of a short story from Dahl's 1975 book Danny, the Champion of the World. BFG stands for Big Friendly Giant. The film is about an orphan human girl befriends a benevolent giant who takes her to Giant Country, where they attempt to stop man-eating giants that are invading the human world. The BFG premiered on May 14, 2016 at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. It was released in the United States on July 1st to positive reviews. As of July 3rd, The BFG has grossed $19.6 million in North America and $3.9 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $23.5 million, against a budget of $140 million. The BFG is slated for release in all the dubbed languages in India on July 15th.
