Editor Mohan's son, Ravi also known as Jayam Ravi, has been very successful in Tamil. He recently received Kalimamani award from the Government of Tamilnadu. It is heard that both brothers (Ravi's brother Raja directed Hanuman Junction in Telugu) are gearing up for a film in Telugu. The film is titled Aggiramudu.
Jayam Ravi in Lage Raho Munnabhai remake
Well, this is the question that has been doing the rounds in kollywood these days. It is well known that the Gemini Film Circuit which remade with great success Munnabhai MBBS in Tamil, has bought the remake rights for the sequel Lage Raho Munnabhai MBBS too. The film on Gandhigiri is being made in Tamil and Telugu. Chiranjeevi is likely to be the hero in the Telugu remake. But it is in Tamil that there is a speculation. Saran, who directed Vasool Raja MBBS, though being its producer may not direct Lage Raho. Kamal has also indicated that he may not act in the Tamil Lage Raho. Sources indicate that Jayam Raja may direct the Tamil remake of Lage Raho. So with Raja at the helm, there is intense speculation that Jayam Ravi may get to play the hero. Jayam Ravi, Jeeva come together
Jayam Ravi starrer Dhaam Dhoom will go to floors on Friday between 12 noon and 1.30 pm. An action-packed entertainer, Dhaam Dhoom will be directed by Jeeva. He will also crank the camera for the film besides penning the screenplay. It's not just the combination of Jayam Ravi and Jeeva that sounds interesting. The film has a strong crew which comprises Harris Jayaraj for music and Thotta Tharani who will take care of art direction. V T Vijayan is the editor and stunts are by Kanal Kannan. That's a lot for film buffs to look forward to! Ravi will act in a full-length action film for the first time. Search for a heroine is on.
Jayam Ravi is busy
After Unakkum Enakkum, Ravi is currently working in Deepavali directed by Ezhil. The movie has story and screenplay by Ezhil himself. Produced by director Lingusamy, the movie is expected to release this February. Next on line for Ravi is Dhaam Dhoom, a movie to be directed by cinematographer Jeeva. A racy and action-packed entertainer, the movie would have two newcomers acting opposite Ravi. A major portion of the movie would be shot in Russia. Ravi plays the role of a medical student in Jeeva's Dhaam Dhoom. The movie is produced by Media One Entertainment.
Jayam Ravi starts with Dhaam Dhoom
Having completed his Deepavali, Jayam Ravi is off to commence shooting for his next venture Dhaam Dhoom. The movie features the actor in an action-packed role for the first time. Cinematographer-director Jeeva, who completed his Unnalae Unnalae, will wield the megaphone for the movie. Initially Sivapathigaram fame Mamta Mohandas was supposed to play the heroine in the movie. Now the baton has been passed to Reema Sen. Fresh from the success of Rendu, Reema would be playing Ravi's ladylove in the movie. Sources close to Jeeva say there is one more heroine in the movie. But the details of who is playing the role is kept under wraps. Ravi plays a trainee doctor in the movie and major portion of the movie would be shot in Russia.

Jayam Ravi is eagerly awaiting the release of his Deepavali. Directed by Ezhil and produced by Lingusamy, the movie features Ravi at his romantic best with Bhavana playing the heroine. The actor is on to his next Dhaam Dhoom, directed by Jeeva, which is an action-packed entertainer. Says Ravi, 'I want to do varied roles. I don't want to be branded as a romantic hero or an action star.' On his role in Deepavali, he says, 'I play a typical Chennai youth. It is a romantic entertainer, sure to catch the hearts of youngsters. However, there would be action and emotional sequences too. Ezhil's narration of the story is sure to impress the filmgoers.' On Dhaam Dhoom, the actor, says, 'It is quite unlikely for the film to be a routine action film. We are striving hard to match Hollywood in action sequences in the movies. A major portion of the movie would be shot in Russia.' Ravi is nursing ambitions to direct a film too! In the next few years, he says, 'I would try my hands at directing a film. Hopefully, I would play the hero in it.'
