Akshay influences Jeena

That Akshay Kumar is a self-confessed fitness freak is a fact well known. All close to him in the industry vouch for the dedication of this self-made star and also credit his latest chiseled physique to Jenna, Akshay's trainer. In fact, so close is the bond between Akshay and Jenna that he ensures her presence on his sets to keep his workouts and diet on track. The surprise, however, came in the fact that Jenna learnt the Gurbani while Akshay was filming for Singh is Kinng in Australia and also got the Ek Omkar tattooed on the back of her neck. For the uninitiated, Gurbani is a form of prayer practiced by Sikhs all over. Such was the influence of the film on Jenna that she felt compelled to know more about the religion and community, epitomized on screen by director Anees Bazmee.

'Yaman' a homecoming for me: Jeeva Shankar

Filmmaker Jeeva Shankar, who has reunited with actor-composer Vijay Anthony for upcoming Tamil thriller "Yaman" after 2012 film "Naan', says the project is a homecoming of sorts for him. "It is indeed a homecoming for me, as I join Vijay after 'Naan'. His transformation during this period of time is astonishing," Jeeva said in a statement. He said the script of "Yaman" was with him while he was working on "Naan". "I was contemplating the idea of making this film with some other hero back then. In this interim, Vijay had grown in leaps and bounds as an actor and as a hero too. Now, he fits the title role of 'Yaman' perfectly," he said. Vijay will also double up as the music composer of the film, which also features Mia George. The film will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

Jeeva hits back

Soon after the release of Aran, Mohanlal pointed fingers at producer R B Choudhary for using a dubbed voice for him in Tamil without his knowledge and also adding few more scenes featuring Jeeva. Jeeva, who acted as Mohanlal's buddy in the film directed by Major Ravi, said, "Using a dubbing voice for Mohanlal was nothing intentional. Since he was shooting for a movie abroad, we had to use a dubbing voice for Mohanlal in the Tamil version. Had we waited for Mohanlal to return, the movie's release would have been delayed by a few more months". Also on the charge that Jeeva's role was made meatier in Tamil, Jeeva said, "We added up few scenes in Tamil only with a view to appeal to the Tamil audience. Since I am more familiar to Tamil audience, a few scenes were added. Again it was nothing intentional and targeted at hurting Mohanlal's sentiments. Jeeva felt dismayed at Mohanlal's outbursts.
