Johny Lever back to his best with '36 China Town'

Everyone who has watched '36 China Town' is unanimous in noticing one fact i.e. Johny Lever being at his best. His comic act has been amazing with the vintage touch pretty visible while his scenes with Paresh Rawal never failed to set the house on fire. Success of the film would be sweetest for Johney Lever who has been facing tough competition from Rajpal Yadav for last few years. 2003 was the least year when he was the TOP COMEDIAN with hits like Koi Mil Gaya, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Chalte Chalte and Andaaz. But since then it has been all downhill with projects like Market, Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav and Saawan - The Love Season that hardly created any ripples at the box office. Overdose of stuck films like Banana Brothers, Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai and Khullam Khulla Pyaar Kare coming in quick succession meant that whatever good work he had done phased away unnoticed! But with '36 China Town' bringing him a big league success once again, all eyes must be set on his next release 'Phir Hera Pheri' where he gangs up with the likes of Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty all over again after 'Awara Paagal Deewana' and 'Deewane Huey Paagal'!

Bhavna Balsavar joins Johny Aala Re

Zee TV's popular comedy programme, 'Johny Aala Re' is going to get a dose of rib tickling comedy of Bhavna Balsavar. Bhavna who has been in the industry for more than a decade now and done some of the biggest comedy flicks to her credit like 'Dekh Bhai Dekh' and 'Zabaan Sambhal Ke' is looking forward to her stint with Johny Lever after having withstood the mirth spread by another comedy king of small screen Shekhar Suman in 'Dekh Bhai Dekh'. 'Johny Aala Re' has completed 65 episodes and it continues to regale the viewers with the stand up comedy by the renowned comedy man Johny Lever. His take on Javed Akhtar is hilarious. Especially because, none of the mimicry artistes has tried to copy the lisping Akhtar so far in any of the other shows. Here's hoping Johny Lever will take this flavour of comedy to his films as well.

John rubbishes rumours about stage show with JLo

By Subhash K. Jha, Mumbai: Actor John Abraham, who is shooting non-stop for Ravi Chopra's "Babul" and Nikhil Advani's "Salaam-E-Ishq", rubbishes rumours about teaming up with Latin singer Jennifer Lopez for a stage show. "Where do these mediapersons get such information from? I don't know her. I have never met her," John told us. The Latin singer is going to perform in Mumbai April 23. But John says he has been pretty much on the edge, shooting features and advertisements, attending events and going to shows. "I have just been running around and around. It seems I have been working round-the-clock," he added. The giddy limit was last week when John shot back-to-back for two major films. "It was 'Babul' all day, and then 'Salaam-E-Ishq' in the night," says the "Dhoom" dude. "It couldn't be helped. 'Babul' is delayed. So it has to be squeezed into my schedule." With Amitabh Bachchan back on the scene to complete his critical pending work on "Babul", the rest of the cast is quickly doing some re-shuffling in their date diary. "Everyone wants to cooperate and get the film completed on time. The director Ravi Chopra is such a lovely man. And we are all so happy and relieved to resume shooting with Bachchan," said John.
