Watch 'Joker' for Rs.10-Any class

Tired of doling out in 3 digits for every movie? Time for a massive slash! Upon intense investigation, it has been successfully zeroed in that it all boils down to money; the prime reason people resort to piracy in watching new releases, is the price tag on cinema tickets. It has been a long time wish - almost a prayer - to bring down the ticket rates for movies. Although TN government has been successful to a certain extent, in bringing a parity among all cinemas, apart from the rare mercy of a row of super-slashed priced tickets, it still pinches some of us, or even burns a hole in the pocket of many. What could we do about it? A theatre in Thirupattur is the first to take a step towards progress. The recently released Joker, is creating waves as a movie with adequate dosage of social message, embedded in entertainment. After all, the very motive of movies is to spread awareness, in a format acceptable to the masses. While Raju Murugan and team seem to have mastered this art, this Thirupattur theatre is doing its part too. This Sunday, in an effort to spread goodwill, all tickets at the theatre, will cost only Rs. 10, to watch Joker. Here's your chance to good movie time.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s social media accounts have had several of his followers compare his role in his recent release, Raman Raghav 2.0, to Heath Ledger’s Joker act in The Dark Knight (2008). When the film premiered at the Cannes film festival last month, critics and film lovers were so impressed by his performance that they drew parallels between him and Anthony Hopkins in the Hannibal (2001). That Nawaz is happy is an understatement; he is walking on air.
