Kareena Kapoor is flying high these days, we mean literally. She has so much of offers and all will be shot in different locales across the globe. Right now shooting for 'Golmaal Returns' with Tusshar Kapoor she will soon be off to Australia for shooting her next film. Then again towards the end of this year she will be doing a film for KJo with her beau Saif. Didn't we say she was flying high? Apart from the films that she is doing, Bebo has also been continuously endorsing Brands as well as posing for the camera as the cover girl for various successful magazines. And as the icing on the cake she also won the Filmfare award for the best actress this year for her performance in 'Jab We Met' with Shahid Kapoor. Kareena was so impressed with the work of director Imtiaz Ali of 'Jab We Met' and was looking forward to star in his next film too, but sadly the director went ahead and cast the fresh new face, Om Shanthi Om girl Deepika Padukone. Kareena was candid enough to come out with her displeasure when she received the Filmfare award when she said that she was happy she did 'Jab We Met' but she was a little disappointed when the director failed to cast her for his next film. But since Kareena is hard pressed for time, we guess missing this one film is not a big blow.
Salman: Just for the li'l ones!
Whenever there is Salman around he does not fail to hit the headlines. While some say he is the bad boy of Bollywood many feel he is a guy with a loving heart. This star was recently seen as the judge to the reality music show for kids, 'Chhote Ustad'. And what did he do this time. From the moment the kids saw Salman they began cheering him and Sallu to seemed over-whelmed by their talent. Then some kids in the show placed a request to Salman. They wanted to see their hero in his trademark style, bare-chested and Salman instantly removed his shirt and flashed his torso with his rippling muscles. He also hit the dance floor and also sang 'O O jaane jaana..' amidst roaring applause. Salman yet again proved that he has a good heart inside that great body by donating five lakh rupees for one child battling with cancer. Not only that, Sallu also surprised the kids with is talent in handling the canvas when he painted for the kids on the sets. He is one guy who knows to win many hearts. Salman has a riot of films releasing around mid-2008 with 'Hello', 'Heroes', 'God Tussi Great Ho', 'Main Yuvraj' and 'Wanted Dead And Alive'. With so many Salman films in queue Salman fans can truly feast on their hero after mid-2008.
"I just show what happens in society" - Madhur Bhandarkar
Ace film director, better known for his award winning trilogy, has scored a Hat-trick of National Awards, winning the National Award for The Best Film Director, for his film Traffic Signal. Madhur's first National award was for Chandni Bar, which was selected as Best Social film, for the year 2002. Than came Page 3, which changed the entire stature of Madhur Bhandarkar. This film, apart from winning him rave reviews, also won the National award in best Feature Film category. Film Traffic Signal now becomes his third in a row National Award, as he is announced as the best Film Director of 2007, for Traffic Signal. Madhur recalls these as one of the greatest moments of his life. 'I thank my audience, my fans and all those people who saw the movie. It is this love and affection of the audience, that gives me the immense freedom of creativity and deliver something very new and out of league.' He quips. Madhur ran a video cassette library in Khar- Mumbai, before he turned Film Director. This gave him access to a large collection of movies and studying movie making. It was the first National award for Chandni Bar that boosted Madhur's confidence to establish himself into the top league of filmmakers in Bollywood. Since then, success follows him on every of his project. Madhur is always known for his socially relevant and hard hitting films. After out of ordinary films like Satta, Page -3, Corporate and his third in a row National award winning film Traffic Signal, Madhur is all set to come up with his next film Fashion, which stars many top Bollywood celebs like former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Mugdha Godse. In most of his films Bhandarkar has projected the female the main protagonist. This has been seen in four of his films: Tabu in Chandni Bar, Raveena Tandon in Satta, Konkona Sen Sharma in Page 3 and Bipasha Basu in Corporate. But Traffic Signal was a different attempt, which was very well accepted by the audience and the critics. "My movies are not exposive, maybe they just hold up a mirror to society. My movies are not judgmental, I just show what happens in our society, sometimes there could be a solution and sometimes there may be none. Life goes on." With Hat-trick of National awards already under his belt, Madhur's 'Fashion', which is making quiet a Buzz and is awaiting to unfold many surprises, will now be reviewed with much more anticipation and expectations.
Just in: Samantha joins Dhanush, VIP team
Viewers are aware that Dhanush is teaming up with his Velai Illa Pattathari team for the second time. Now, the actor-producer has confirmed that Samantha is also part of this untitled movie. “Team VIP Welcomes @Samanthaprabhu2 on board :) shoot from feb 2015”, posted Dhanush in his Twitter page. Cinematographer turned director Velraj will wield the megaphone for this Dhanush, Samantha starrer. Amy Jackson will be playing the female lead for Dhanush in the movie. Anirudh will compose the music for this yet-to-be-titled Wunderbar Films production venture. Shooting starts in February 2015.
Just In: OK Kanmani releases on April 17
Mani Ratnam's O Kadhal Kanmani release date is officially confirmed on 17th of this Month. Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon, who played lead roles in Malayalam films like Ustad hotel, Bangalore Days and 100 Days of Love have paired up for the fourth time in this musical romantic entertainer OK Kanmani. Prakash Raj, Kaniha and VJ Ramya will be seen in important roles in this Madras Talkies production film. O Kadhal Kanmani enjoys mesmerizing songs composed by AR Rahman, cinematography is by PC Sreeram. Studio Greens and Sri Venkateswara Creations distribute OK Kanmani / OK Bangaram for Tamil and Telugu audiences, respectively. Releasing worldwide on April 17th.
Just Begun: Regina's horror acts
Like we reported earlier, much awaited horror act of Regina has begun now. Today her latest movie is launched formally with a pooja in Chennai. Produced by director Gautham Menon and directed by 7/G Brindavan Colony fame Selvaraghavan, "Nenjam Marappathillai" is an upcoming horror flick that another director SJ Suryah as hero, while Regina is the leading lady. She will be seen as ghost in most of the film. Apparently Regina is waiting for right break these days, and probably this horror flick should rescue her. Wait and see.
