Film producer Anjaneyalu, who has been facing molestation charges from actress Malavika during a film- shoot, has shown the exit door to the actress from his movie. Addressing press persons, Anjaneyalu, who is producing the film, has said he never had any wrong intentions towards the actress. 'I just requested the pregnant actress to complete her part soon, which would benefit her and the unit as well. But for reasons best known to Malavika, she had made unfair and wrong allegations against me,' he said. Meanwhile, rumors did the rounds stating that Namitha would replace Malavika in the movie. When contacted Namitha, said, ' I am not part of the project. No one approached me as yet.' 'Whistle' fame Vikramaditya plays the lead role in 'Kaartheegai'. Suman, Kadhal Dhandapani, Suman Shetty, Rani, Sathyan and Srihari are also in the cast. Veera has penned the story and screenplay, besides directing the movie. The other credits include Deva (music), Snegan (lyrics) and Ashokraj (choreography).
Karthiga is down, but not out
Karthiga, who replaced Bhavana in director Bala's much-hyped Naan Kadavul, plays the role of a blind beggar in the movie. The shooting for the movie is on at Periyakulam and Kumbakarai areas. Recently Karthiga fell ill and was rushed to Chennai. She was down with viral fever and underwent immediate medical attention. Buzz is that the actress has recovered from the fever and is all ready to resume shooting for the movie. Starring Arya in the pivotal role, the movie is shaping up fast. Bala, who is known for striving excellence in his films, has cast a host of beggars in the movie.
'Karthikai' tells a story of relationships
The highly successful producer M.Anjaneya of films like 'Seema Sastri' and 'Girlfriend' in Tollywood is eyeing the Kollywood film market with his debut Tamil venture 'Karthikai' to be made under his banner Chithi Vinayagar. The film has the sultry Malavika and Samiksha as the leading ladies opposite Vikramaditya who acted as the hero in the film 'Whistle'. The first schedule of the shooting has got over in Bangkok and the unit will now move on to the other places like Ramesharam, Dhanushkodi and Kodaikkanal for the scenes which remain to be canned. The director of the film Veera is the man behind the story and the screenplay of the film and is directing a Tamil film for the first time. Deva composes the music, Cinematography is by T.Rajender, Chreography is taken care by Ashokraj and the lyrics written by Snegan. Kadhal Dhandapani, Rani Satyan, Srihari, Suman and Suman shetty are some of the other cast members of 'Karthikai' which has a storyline about the relationships between brothers and also between a father and his sons. What will be the response to this new venture by a new producer and what difference he brings to the frequently told stories about relationships is left to be seen.
Karthiga, the half-saree girl
Western attire seems to be a far-flung desire for young actress Karthiga. All the filmmakers who approach her for roles offer her characters that need to dress up either in half sarees or the South Indian traditional skirt worn by young girls. 'Right from my debut film 'Thoothukudi' and till now, all the characters I play need me to dress up in half sarees. But I am not upset with it', says Karthiga. Karthiga is currently playing one of five heroines for the film 'Raman Thediya Seethai'. She is the heroine for a film titled 'Vaidehi' that features Pandiarajan's son Prithivi as hero. The film was earlier titled 'Machaan'. She would also be seen as a village belle in the film 'Alaiyodu Villayadu' Offers keep pouring in and with every offer comes the half-saree too.
Karthiga to enter wedlock
Karthiga, the Malluwood actress who entered Kollywood with 'Nam Naadu' opposite Sarath Kumar got engaged last week to an NRI at her hometown in Kerala. An actress with girl next door looks, she has acted in more than 15 films in Malayalam and is currently acting in four films in Tamil including, 'Dindigul Sarathy', 'Pulan Visaranai'(new), 'Naalai Namadhu' and 'Aarumanamey'. In 'Dindigul Sarathy', which is a remake of Malyalam film 'Vadaku Nokki Endhiram', she is playing the ladylove of Karunas, who is testing waters as a hero. Sources close to Karthiga confirm that her wedding will take place only after she completes all her assignments.
