Rahman’s tunes for Mani’s Kadal

Oscar winning music director AR Rahman has completed setting the tunes for Mani Ratnam’s Kadal. The musician has come out with some great tunes for Mani, whom he considers as his guru. It was Mani Ratnam who introduced Rahman as a music director several years ago in Roja and since then there is no looking back for the musician. Rahman has always given his best for Mani and Kadal is not going to be any different, state sources. Kadal will mark the debut of Gautham, son of Karthik and pairing up with him is Samantha.

Kamal Haasan - In the master's voice

Kamal has taken a new avatar. This actor-director-producer has lent his voice for R B Choudhary's Aran. The movie begins with Kamal Haasan's voice narrating the tense situation in the Indo-Pak border at Kashmir besides introducing characters in the movie. Thanking Kamal Haasan for his gesture, Aran's producer R B Choudhary, 'It is great for such a busy actor to have sparred his time to give narration for the movie. It has come really good'. On his part, Kamal Haasan, said, 'I deem it a privilege to have given voice-over for a movie which dwells on the heroics of Indian soldiers in the country's border'. To be part of a movie that is a tribute to the heroics and valor of the Indian army is a great pride for me', he added. Kamal Haasan also urged the producers and directors to come out with films glorifying the sacrifices of the soldiers.

Kamal Haasan and Ajith fans - At last, some real hope

Good news for Kamal Haasan and Ajith fans. The former's Vettaiyadu Vilaiyaadu and Ajith's God Father lying in the cans for a long time in spite of their completion may finally hit the screens on 11 August. Buzz is that the timely intervention of the newly-elected Tamil Film Producers Council has helped the producers of these solve all pending issues proving to be a handicap for its release. The new team led by its president Rama Narayanan had detailed meetings with the producers, distributors and has worked out a deal between them. It is said that these two films would hit the screens on 11 August. Meanwhile efforts are also on to get films like Srikanth's Sathurangam and Vijayakanth's Perarasu get released at the earliest. Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu features Kamal Haasan and Jyothika in the lead roles and is directed by Gowtham Menon, while K S Ravikumar directs God Father, featuring Ajith in three different roles.

Kamal Nathani saysWith Luv Tumhara

Kamal D Nathani has assisted the likes of Sai Paranjpe on classics like 'Chashme Baddoor' and 'Katha'. He is also a part of another middle of the road cinema 'Saath Saath' that is best remembered for a fabulous music score. After spending several years in television, he is making a foray in Hindi cinema with 'With Luv Tumhara'. This film stars Parvin Dabas, Preeti Jhangiyani and Anupama Verma. And it has already impressed with a few fantastic songs composed by Sudeep Banerjee. Nathani is hopeful that his film will do down well with people who like 'good clean cinema'. His intentions are in the right place but with a limited release, Nathani can only look forward to some critical acclaim if at all the film merits it. 'With Luv Tumhara' releases today in a mere five cinemas in Mumbai. Is it the 'Dhoom 2' effect'.Or something else'.

Kamal Hassan teams up with Walt Disney

Actor Kamal Haasan will now join hands with the Walt Disney Productions, who are expected to produce his forthcoming film 'Marma Yogi'. Walt Disney Productions, which recently tied up with Yash Raj Films for a full-length animated feature film called 'Roadside Romeo', wants to expand its operations across the country. So they have decided to start a venture with the versatile actor cum filmmaker. The Kamal-Walt Disney venture will be co-produced by Bharath Bala, who produced A. R. Rahman's patriotic music video Vande Mataram. 'Marma Yogi' will also bring Kamal and Rahman together after a long gap. 'Marma Yogi' will be a period film, set in the seventh century, which will have erstwhile Bollywood heartthrob Hema Malini. Kamal and Hema Malini had earlier teamed up in 'Hey Ram'. Asin, the heroine of 'Dasavadharam', will play a key role. The film will probably be directed by Kamal Haasan. 'Marma Yogi' is said to be one of the costliest films ever made in India with a budget of Rs. 90 crore. Kamal will shortly go to the US to discuss the production of this film, which is slated to be shot in Thailand. The shooting might get started by February.

Kamal's short film on Marmayogi

Remember the grand trailer Kamal filmed for his dream project 'Marudhanayagam' a decade ago. In similar vein, the actor has now come up with a short film on his forthcoming movie 'Marmayogi'. Sources reveal that the short film comprises the theme of the movie, cast and crew along with other technical details. It would be screened at the grand launch of 'Marmayogi' planned at Mumbai by this month end. It is said that bigwigs of Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shah Rukh Khan are expected to attend the launch ceremony. Produced by Pyramid Saimira, 'Marmayogi' would have Hema Malini and other Bollywood actors in pivotal roles. A short film to promote a feature film is indeed a novel idea. What will creativity come up with? Let's wait and watch.
