John Abraham, Kunaal Roy Kapoor in 'Kala Ghoda'

After "Force", there's some more action up the sleeves of Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham. The actor has once again signed up to play a cop in director Aditya Bhattacharya's new film "Kala Ghoda" which will also feature Kunaal Roy Kapoor of "Delhi Belly" fame. "Kala Ghoda", set in the Mumbai underbelly, will be shot in real time on actual locations and promises some real action. "It's the story of two cops, one hard-nosed no-nonsense and volatile played by John and the other a goofy ineffectual bumbling cop, played by Kunaal Roy Kapoor, who come together under trying circumstances for one night of relentless action in Mumbai," said Aditya, who is Bimal Roy's grandson and director Basu Bhattacharya's son. The film goes on the floors at the end of the year and involves situations that come straight out of the record books of real-life police stations. The director admits he was initially reluctant to get into the project. "'Kala Ghoda' is a authentic cops film. And my catchline for the film would be 'No Gun No Fun'. I was a bit hesitant. It was John's exuberance and energy level that convinced me," said Bhattacharya. "His homework for the role is incredible. I come from a sensibility different from the archetypal 'Bollywood' cinema. I felt John and I coming together to do a film would be as odd as John and Kunaal Roy Kapoor's characters in 'Kala Ghoda' coming together. "But John's dedication to the film has convinced me that 'Bollywood' no longer exists. It is a state of mind where the walls have dissolved and a misfit like me has a place here," he added. John, who will produce the film, conceives it as a low-budget gritty independent film, meant for a specific target audience.

Mega Star is 'Kala Prapoorna' now

Mega Star Chiranjeevi remained in the No. 1 position in the Telugu film industry for the past 25 years and performed in several sensational films. He moulded his career in itself a career of records. Though he remained on top of everyone in the film industry, he remained humble, never forgot his past and continued to serve the society in many forms. With the inspiration given by Bharata Ratna Mother Teresa, he launched blood banks and saved many lives by providing the life-saving blood to many patients through his blood banks. Later, he started eye banks to provide light to many blind people. Whenever the Mega Star starts a service activity, his fans reacted to all of them positively and are strengthening his hands. Very recently, he had also launched a movement against the AIDS. When everyone is thinking of their own family, his own children and himself in a selfish way, the Mega Star is thinking about the common men, though he is on a high pedestal. Keeping all his service activities in view and his high stature in the Telugu cinema, the Government of India had awarded him with one of the highest civilian award like 'Padma Bhushan'. In addition, the first citizen of India and President APJ Abdul Kalam personally visited the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust and complimented his service activities. Now, the Andhra University, from where Chiranjeevi received his degree recognized his talent in acting, awarded him with an honorary doctorate and presented him 'Kala Prapoorna' award on November 6. The Mega Star received the 'Kala Prapoorna' from the State Governor and Chancellor of the university Rameshwar Thakur.

'Shankar Dada Zindabad' audio at Shilpa Kala Vedika

The audio of 'Shankar Dada Zindabad' directed by noted choreographer-turned-director Prabhudeva and produced on the banner of Gemini Film Circuits, with Padma Bhushan, Mega Star, Dr Chiranjeevi and Karishma Katak in the lead is all set for release through Aditya Music at Shilpa Kala Vedika of Shilparamam in Hyderabad on July 4 at a grand function. It is reliably learnt that Pawan Kalyan not only made a special appearance and played a guest role in the film, but also shook his legs along with the Mega Star. Another speciality is that the Mega Star had danced a huge dance bit in a song in a single shot and this would definitely enthral the Mega Star fans. It is well aware that the Nizam Area distribution rights were bagged by Siri Media for a whopping Rs 8.5 crores.
