'KAMBAKTH ISHQ' is already a list proposition in the trade as it has the golden combo of Sajid Nadiadwala & Akshay Kumar coming together again after the super success of 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' & Blockbuster 'Heyy Babyy'. Sabir Khan who assisted David Dhavan in Mujhse Shaddi Karogi will be directing the sure fire winner in the box office stakes'. The hunt for the heroine to be paired opposite Akshay Kumar is on. Infact insiders say that a high profile heroine has almost been finalized. Insiders also add that with a magical star cast already ruling the box office and a high profile Nadiadwala banner riding the crest of one of the biggest blockbuster this year has already. Made 'KAMBAKTH ISHQ' Red list!! In fact top distributor & corporate honchos have already started bidding for the rights to distribute the film. 'KAMBAKTH ISHQ' has become the new bollywood buzzword even before the shoot of the film has begun. Not surprising since it has the golden combo of Box Office king 'Akshay Kumar' & Sajid Nadiadwala back again to recreate the sure fire success!! Kunal looking forward to Kambakth Ishq
Kunal Kapoor did become an overnight sensation with the success of Rang De Basanti and the actor did feature in a couple of big banner films this year. Unfortunately, Kunal's run at the box office has been quite a misery. First came Milan Luthria's Hat Trick 'a film that had various stories revolving around the cricket world cup. Though the film carried all the buzz of cricket and an assemble star cast, it didn't do well at the box office. Then came Kunal's films under the prestigious Yash Raj banner. Pradeep Sarkar's Laaga Chunnari Mein Daag had all the elements that called for a hit, be it the likes of Abhishek Bachchan , Rani Mukherjee , Jaya Bachchan , Konkona Sen ; music by Shantanu Moitra and you name it , they had it all. But the movie didn't fare too well at the box office. Reports suggest that the clash with Priyadarshan's Bhool Bhulaiya is what cost them. Next in line was Aaja Nachle which was more of a Madhuri Dixit film with not much scope for Kunal or Konkona. The Madhuri comeback vehicle bombed at the box office and even the songs couldn't console collections. Finally, Kunal has his eyes set on Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakth Ishq which is one of the most talked about films of 2008 for it also stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. Let's hope that Kunal makes his presence in this love story and may he find success this year.
Hollywood casting agents for KAMBAKTH ISHQ
Sajid Nadiadwala has widened his horizons. His next venture Kambakth Ishq that stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in the lead, now also boasts of an international star cast. It has been reported that Arnold Schwazzenegar and Beyonce will play vital roles in Kambaqt Ishq. Says a source "Akshay plays a Hollywood stuntman in the film. Hence the inclusion of Arnold. Our desi action hero will be seen with the international action icon. Beyonce too is reportedly doing a sizzling act in the film. Everything is almost finalized. Apparently they are also looking at other Hollywood names to join the cast of Kambakth Ishq." But here's the latest news! Sajid Nadiadwala has officially appointed the casting directors of Entourage, the big hit reality show in the US. Susan Paley Abramson and Justine Hempe are the casting agents for the Hollywood stars for Kambqat Ishq that is to be shot extensively in Los Angeles. Prashant Shah, line producer of Kambakth Ishq, based in Los Angeles said, "Yes its true we are signed the casting agents of Entourage as the casting agents for Hollywood stars for Kambakth Ishq. This move only goes to show that the Hindi film industry is increasingly getting globalized. Powerful producers like Sajid Nadiadwala now are confident that Hollywood stars are within their reach. Only Sajid can make this happen. He is the only producer in the industry with a clout equal to Yashraj." Adds Sajid Nadiadwala, "We have a certain vision for our production company NGE (Nadiadwala Grandsons Entertainment). Since Kambakth Ishq is based in Hollywood, it would make perfect sense to appoint partners, who would streamline the requirements as per the script. And we and our Line producer in Hollywood, have taken a call to appoint various agents for the various expertise they have to offer. As our Indian film industry is making its presence felt and going global, I would like my banner Nadiadwala Grandson to think on a bigger scale."
Akshay and Kareena in international love story - KAMBAKTH ISHQ
Riding high on the box office, Kareena Kapoor has been paired opposite Box Office King Akshay Kumar in Sajid Nadiadwala's next blockbuster KAMBAKTH ISHQ. The film will be directed by Sabir Khan. It's Kareena Kapoor's first film that she has signed post the highly appreciated and successful film JAB WE MET. Says Kareena, "This is the first film I have signed post JAB WE MET. It's a very unusual love story and I loved the script. Besides, I always wanted to act in Sajid Nadiadwala's banner. I am also looking forward to work with Akshay again after Yashraj's 'TASHAN'. This will be our fifth film together and we share an excellent chemistry on screen." Sajid Nadiadwala, who is also running high after the humungous hit HEY BABYY, seems quite ecstatic about Kareena for 'Kambakth Ishq'. Says Sajid, "My director Sabir and I both saw JAB WE MET together and absolutely loved it. Her transition from an extroverted character to a matured character was fantastic. It was a difficult role, and she was exemplary." Sajid adds, "'Kambakth Ishq' is a romantic drama with comedy in it. Kareena is working for the first time with our banner and I am excited about it. She would suit the role perfectly. In fact we have had a 100% Golden Jubilee hit record with her sister Karishma in JEET and JUDWAA. Kareena's dad Randhir has worked with our banner Nadiadwala Grandsons in many films including 'Haath Ki Safai' and 'Rampur Ka Lakshman'. When questioned about Kareena being choosy about her scripts and his three month long lookout for the heroine to suit the role, Sajid laughed, "I don't make action films but women-centric films where a girl's role is pivotal to the story. All the boys and girls who have acted in my films have done well. 'Heyy Babyy' has grossed 100 crores in India in five weeks." Infact when I approached Kareena, she said that she didn't want to hear the script, but just wanted to start shooting. That was her confidence on our banner. Shooting of 'Kambakth Ishq' is slated to begin from January 2008 with 9 actors from Hollywood. The film will be shot in exotic locales of Los Angeles. Adds Sajid, "It will be an international love story on a huge scale."
