Dulquer Salmaan starring action thriller Kali has completed one month at the theatres. The Sameer Thahir movie, which stars Sai Pallavi in the female lead, is Dulquer's first release of the year. Reportedly, Kali has made a gross collection of 13.35 Crores, from its 27 days of theatrical run in Kerala. The net collection is 10.76 Crores and share is almost 5.80 Crores. While considering the initial collection made by the movie, it has failed to meet the expectations of the makers. Kali was initially expected to emerge the top 5 highest grossers list of Mollywood. The movie collected Rs. 2.34 Crores on the first day of release, from the Kerala box office. The first 3 days were extremely favourable for Kali, as the movie collected Rs. 5.75 Crores within such a short period. Even though the movie received fairly positive reviews from all over, Kali failed to impress a major group of audiences, which badly affected the collections. So, the first-week collection was restricted to 8 Crores.
Karan in Kaali
It has now become a trend in Kollywood to make movies with the titles of yesteryears' hit movies. The titles of stars like MGR and Rajini are in great demand. We have witnessed films like 'Polladhavan' and 'Nam Nadu' and we have many films like 'Aayiraththil Oruvan' in the making. Following the trend, Karan, will act in 'Kaali', the title of Rajini's hit movie. Karan, who is currently acting in 'Kaathavarayan', will be the hero in 'Kaali'. The movie will also have Sneha and Sandhya in lead roles. Friends Cinema, which produced 'Kokki' featuring Karan as hero, will produce 'Kaali' as well.
Dulquer Salmaan's Kali Censored With A 'U' Certificate
Kali, the Dulquer Salmaan starring upcoming action thriller bagged a clean 'U' certificate from the censor board. Kali, which is slated to release on March 26th, is directed by Sameer Thahir. Sai Pallavi essays the female lead opposite Dulquer Salmaan in the movie, which revolves around the married couple Siddharth and Anjali. Kali is said to be an intense, serious movie. Dulquer plays the central character Siddharth while Sai Pallavi depicts his wife, Anjali. Reportedly, Pallavi is playing a character with a huge scope to perform in the movie and has dubbed on her own. Interestingly, the team has initially tried to find an effective dubbing artist for Sai Pallavi, but the efforts went in vain. Later, they decided to make Sai dub for herself, by making some slight changes in the plot.
BOX OFFICE: Kali 4 Days Kerala Collection Report
Kali, the Dulquer Salmaan-Sai Pallavi movie has already emerged as a blockbuster. Even though Kali has been receiving mixed responses from the all over, it is doing extremely well at the box office. According to the trade analysts, the movie has made a whopping gross collection of Rs. 6.82 Crores, from the Kerala box office alone. The outside Kerala collections are yet to be calculated. The movie had a grand opening at the box office, by making an initial collection of Rs. 2.34 Crores. Thus, Kali broke the initial collection record, made by the Mohanlal starrer Ranjith movie, Loham. But the second-day collection decreased, as it was Easter. The movie collected Rs. 1.95 Crores on the second day. Thus, Kali made an approximate gross collection of Rs. 4.29 Crores within 2 days.

The movie has already emerged as a superhit. While considering the initial collection made by the movie, it is a disappointing box office figure. Kali broke the first day collection record Mohanlal's Loham, and was expected to enter the top 5 grossers list. Shobu Clarifies on Pawan Kalyan Kaali Title
One of the co-producers of Pawan Kalyan's upcoming Telugu movie The Shadow Shobu clarifies that no decision has been made to fix a title. Rumors surfaced in tinsel town that working title of Pawan Kalyan's new movie has been changed to Kaali. In this view producer Shobu Yaralagadda iterated and clarifies “Again I would like to clarify, we have not yet finalized the title and also none of the titles being mentioned are under consideration!!”says producer Shobu. Currently Pawan Kalyan's The Shadow is shooting action and song sequences in Kolkatta. It is known that, The Shadow filming is expected to wrap up by June 26. By the end of this month almost 60% of movie shooting will come to an end. Earlier producer also made it clear saying shooting is going on as per planned schedule. The Shadow” which is touted to be based on mafia backdrop and powerstar Pawan Kalyan is partially donning a negative role in it. 'The Shadow' is directed by Vishnuvardhan and jointly produced by Neelima Tirumalasetti and Shobu Yarlagadda under Sangamithra Arts and Arka Media Works banner. Actress Sara Jane Dias is playing female lead while Adivi Sesh and Anjali Lavania can be seen in important roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring music and Abburi Ravi is penning dialogues for this movie.
