Mega producer Chalasani Aswanidutt is producing a film 'Kantri' on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies with Meher Ramesh as director and NTR in the title role. Meher Ramesh proved his calibre by making the Kannada version of 'Andhrawala' a super hit, though its Telugu original was proved a dud. The film is all set to go to sets on September 14. Puri Jagannath had started the tradition of keeping 'slander words' as titles with his film 'Idiot'. Again it was Puri Jagannath, who titled his film as 'Pokiri'. With both the films becoming big hits, several slander words have come up including 'Julayi, Pokirollu, Aawaragadu' and others as titles. Now a film is going to be launched with a title called 'Kantri'. Music director Manisharma is scoring music for the movie. Presently, NTR's latest flick 'Yamadonga' directed by Rajamouli is running successfully and proved a blockbuster.
'Kantri' shooting formally launched
The shooting of 'Kantri' directed by Meher Ramesh and produced by Chalasani Aswanidutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies with Young Tiger NT Ramarao as hero was formally launched with puja activities at Aswanidutt house on 14th, September. The film would go to sets very soon. The director of the film is the prot©g© of versatile director Puri Jagannath and is making his debut through this film. It may be mentioned here that 'Andhrawala' of NTR directed by Puri Jagannath was a dud in Telugu, while the same film was remade in Kannada and that was a big hit there. Speaking on the occasion, NTR says, 'Now that I am enjoying the success of 'Yamadonga' directed by SS Rajamouli. That success gave me a renewed vigour and strength and my pleasure was doubled. I thank Jakkanna (Rajamouli) in this regard.'
'Kantri' to be launched on Vijayadasami
Directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by C Aswanidutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies 'Chirutha' introducing Mega Power Star Ram Charan as hero was released recently and it was proved a sensational hit. After such mega hit, the banner is planning to launch its next film which would go to sets formally on Vijayadasami Day. The film is 'Kantri' to be directed by Meher Ramesh and produced by C Aswanidutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies with NTR as hero. The formal launch of the film is planned on October 21 at Hyderabad. Manisharma is scoring music for the movie, while Hansika Motwani of 'Desamuduru'-fame would be the female lead.
'Kantri' song shot in city
'Yamadonga' has re-established NTR as a bankable star. He has been signed on by the prestigious Vyjayanti banner for their next film, Kantri. The film had a low-key launch in the city recently and a song has already been picturised on NTR. Music for the film is by Mani Sarma. Hansika is the heroine and it is being directed by Meher Ramesh, who worked under Puri Jagannath. Ramesh already has two hit films to his credit in Kannada.
'Kantri' on April 9?
That C Aswini Dutt has launched a film with NTR and Hansika Motwani is a known fact. The film's shooting has commenced and the unit has been shooting in and around Hyderabad. Now, they are all set to fly to Malaysia and Switzerland for shooting. It is essentially an action flick with a good dose of entertaining elements. The search is still on for the second heroine in the film. Prakash Raj is said to be playing a crucial role in the film. The director Meher Ramesh is debuting with the film. Earlier, he had worked under Puri Jagannath. 'The whole focus would be on showing NTR in a new shade and to focus on the hitherto unseen aspects of his acting,' says the director. The talk at the Vyjayanti Movies is that Kantri is likely to be a summer special and that the release date could be April 9.
'Kantri' unit out in South Africa
Though an extremely popular location with the Bollywood stars, not many Telugu films have been shot in South Africa. So, it was the turn of C Aswini Dutt of Vyjayanti Movies to fly his crew to South Africa for the picturisation of a couple of songs there. NTR and Hansika Motwani will be dancing around exotic locales in this African nation. The film is one of the big films lined up for release this summer.
