More news →'Karthikai' tells a story of relationships
The highly successful producer M.Anjaneya of films like 'Seema Sastri' and 'Girlfriend' in Tollywood is eyeing the Kollywood film market with his debut Tamil venture 'Karthikai' to be made under his banner Chithi Vinayagar. The film has the sultry Malavika and Samiksha as the leading ladies opposite Vikramaditya who acted as the hero in the film 'Whistle'. The first schedule of the shooting has got over in Bangkok and the unit will now move on to the other places like Ramesharam, Dhanushkodi and Kodaikkanal for the scenes which remain to be canned. The director of the film Veera is the man behind the story and the screenplay of the film and is directing a Tamil film for the first time. Deva composes the music, Cinematography is by T.Rajender, Chreography is taken care by Ashokraj and the lyrics written by Snegan. Kadhal Dhandapani, Rani Satyan, Srihari, Suman and Suman shetty are some of the other cast members of 'Karthikai' which has a storyline about the relationships between brothers and also between a father and his sons. What will be the response to this new venture by a new producer and what difference he brings to the frequently told stories about relationships is left to be seen.
'Karthika Masam' shooting in progress
The shooting of 'Karthika Masam' directed by Geddada Anandababu and produced by Anaparthi Sivarama Krishna on the banner of Mallikarjun Movies with popular Shaivaite temples in its backdrop, with Yashwant as hero is progressing well. The film had recently completed its first schedule. Speaking on the occasion, director says, 'A family goes on a pilgrimage to visit the Pancharamas and the film was based on this tour. It is a complete devotional movie. We have shot some important scenes during the first schedule. There are a total of nine songs in the movie and recording of all the songs was completed recently.' Naresh, Tanikella Bharani, LB Sriram, Annapurna, Kavita, Delhi Rajeswari, Ramireddy, Narra and others are in the cast. Lakshmi Vinayak is scoring music for the flick.
Karthika wants STR
Karthika's very first film in Tamil, Ko was a smash hit but much to the disappointment of her new fans she has not been seen on the big screen since then. Word was that she is doing a Telugu film called Dammu with Jr. NTR and Trisha. But now she has confirmed that she will be seen in a Tamil film soon. Radha's daughter will be seen in Bharathiraja's next film and she said that the official announcement will be out soon. Tamil cinema fans will remember that it was Bharathiraja who introduced Radha. When quizzed about whether she was doing Vetri Maaran's film with STR she said that the reports were false but she does want to do a film with STR soon.
Karthika shoots in Jodhpur Deserts for Purampokku
Karthika heads to Jodhpur to shoot some important scenes in the deserts for her upcoming Tamil film Purampokku being directed by SP Jhananathan. Purampokku team lead by director S.P. Jhananathan went on floors in freezing Kullu Manali on January 14. After Manali schedule, Purampokku was shot in Tamil cinemas favorite location Mumbai followed by Jodhpur now. “Off2 Jodhpur..after shootin in freezin snow its Blazing Desert”, posted Karthika in her twitter page, who earlier tweeted, “Wrapped an adventurous freezin..schedule in Manali..nw off to soak sum pollution n heat in Mumbai!”. It is known that Karthika is playing the female lead in Purampokku that casts Arya, Vijay Sethupathi and Shaam in the lead roles. UTV Motion Pictures producing multi-starrer Purampokku is co-produced by director SP Jananathan's Binary Pictures banner with Yuvan Shankar Raja's music.
Karthika will stun audiences with stunts
Actress Karthika Nair will be seen in an action avatar for the first time in upcoming yet-untitled Telugu action comedy and the director of the film feels that actress will stun audiences with her stunts in the movie. "Karthika has put on her action boots for this film. She plays a courageous sister who comes to the rescue of the hero whenever he's in trouble. She will stun audiences with her stunts in the movie," Chinni Krishna told. "She plays a character on par with the hero. Usually women in films are only used for glamour but I have completely changed with Karthika's role in my film. It's a rare character that she has landed and she's done justice to it," he added. The makers, who will complete shooting by the first week of August, want audiences to find a suitable title for the film. "We want audiences to find us a suitable title. We've even started a contest on Facebook for the same and the one who comes up with the best title will be rewarded," he said. The film also features Allari Naresh and Harshvardhan Rane in important roles.
Karthika as funny as Naresh in 'Brother of Bommali'
Actress Karthika Nair, who plays the twin sister of actor-comedian Allari Naresh in upcoming Telugu action-comedy "Brother of Bommali", has impressed the film's director B. Chinni with her comic skills. Chinni feels she's as funny as Naresh. "Heroines are usually known to be glamorous and rarely funny. Karthika has a knack for comedy too. She's as funny as Naresh in my film. Audiences are going to love her new avatar in the film," Chinni told. It was Naresh who had suggested Karthika's name for the role. "Naresh told me that she would be perfect for the role. I was initially sceptical but after I started working, I realised that she was extremely talented," he said. "Karthika has also performed her own stunts in the film. We even suggested that we could use a duplicate for the stunts, but she declined the offer," he added. The film, which is currently in its post-production phase, is gearing up for release soon.
