Khiladi between Skyscrapers in Bangkok

Wait, get set and hold your breath to see a slice of action which only a person with the mind of a daredevil can even think of doing. Any other star would have used a body double for jumping and skating off from Thailand's tallest buildings. As the person to host the programe 'Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi' to be aired on the new Hindi General Entertainment channel Colours from the media company Viacom 18, the action King of Bollywood has shot a promotional video that will beat any given trailer of a Hindi film. There is no doubt that the programe will shoot up into the top rank holder among the several shows hosted by the Bollywood stars now running in the different channels. With people slowly getting bored with the game shows, reality shows and with dance and music competitions bombarded on them, it is time for some out of the box action and real adventure. And the new channel has got the right man in Akshay Kumar as there is no one else who is better suited when the show's main bone is conquering the fear inside. This promotional video conceived by the creative agency Rediffusion DY&R and shot by Kunal Kapoor of AdFilmswala is a prelude to what is actually in stock to blow off the minds of the viewers. This is what Rameet Arora, the marketing head of Colours Channel has to say about the forthcoming promo film. "This video will unmistakably be very different from what has till now being shown in Indian Television conceived by an Indian team. Setting the tone for a never seen before campaign, you can look forward to a unique synergy between Bollywood and television. And that too, with India's favourite hero. It is an un-missable start." Akshay Kumar is also much exited with the video. Sharing his experience in shooting the film he said "With something as crazy and exiting like 'Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi' you have got to start at Bangkok. I truly enjoyed being on skate board, straddled between two of the tallest buildings in Thailand- just to give a preview of the show to my viewers. It may sound easy on paper. Just take a look for yourself and enjoy the ride with me. You don't have to be daredevil lover to enjoy this show. It is packed with me of course, but also with love, friendships, deadly stunts and a lot of fun. He arrived as the Khiladi, then he became Sabse Bada Khiladi, then he changed into Khiladiyom ka Khiladi. All the three name tags, he carried off with ©lan. Now he is 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' with which is the name which suits him the best when his personality is considered. Akshay getting a competition from among his Bollywood hero friends hosting another real life adventure programe is out of question as it is just not asking questions, motivating and making fun. It needs sheer guts in its purest form and nerves as strong as steel to be the host and a role model to give the competitors the mindset to go ahead and do it.

Khiladi sequel on, but without Akshay Kumar

Producer Ratan Jain says he is planning to make a sequel to 1992 superhit film "Khiladi" with a newcomer. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, the 1992 hit movie "Khiladi" starred Akshay Kumar in the lead role and it also featured Ayesha Jhulka and Deepak Tijori, among others. "Films that I have made are not too old. I started working in the 1990s, so yes, youth knows about my film. Yes, we are trying various ideas to come up with different films," Jain said "I don't know about remake, but we are planning to make a sequel to 'Khiladi'. It's in a very early stage, we are still scripting," added the filmmaker. Jain, who had worked with Akshay in "Dhadkan" as well, plans to rope in a new face for the movie. "Most probably we will cast a new comer for the sequel," he said when asked about the cast.

Action Khiladi against eight wrestlers

In 'Singh Is Kinng' Akshay Kumar may be enacting the role of a village simpleton who ends up in a foreign country amid strange people and unfamiliar circumstances. But when it is the action king of Bollywood doing the role of the leading man, can some high voltage action be left out? To add some breathtaking action sequences and to provide the sardar with tough opposition to prove his Punjabi strength, the Khiladi will be seen confronting eight professional wrestlers. The eight WWE wrestlers have been selected from Austalia and will be seen in an action sequence. During the shooting, all the eight muscle men gelled well with Akshay. Between the shots the film star and the fighters talked a lot as some of them had seen Akshay's films. A wrestler named Chris even shared some arm wrestling secrets with the Khiladi.

Akshay Khanna: The New Shatranj Ke Khiladi!!!

Once the famous Oscar winning director Satyajit Roy had made the "Shatranj Ke Khiladi" with Amjad Khan and Sayeed Jafrey, where they had to learn chess game by heart. But it was only for the film but in reality Bollywood has its own Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Akshay Khanna. He is a tremendous good in chess game. Recently he is shooting for Abbas Masatan's next project "Race" with Saif Ali Khan in Yashraj Studio, where in between the break Akshay literally pulled everybody from cast to crew to play chess with him, including the director duo. He is the master of the game and defeats everybody; actually he can read the mind of the opponent and thinks 5steps ahead from ahead. He knows how to move his horses from one side to other side and accordingly he moves his horses and confuses everybody. In the sets of "Naqaab", in Duabi, he played chess everyday with the unit members of the film and defeated all of them with his fast moves. Abbbas-Mastan's "Naqaab" is also a thriller where everybody plays game with everybody so surely we can call Akshay the new shatranj ke khiladi.

Priyanka makes TV debut as ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi

Actress Priyanka Chopra will make her debut on small screen as the host of the adventure reality show “Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi”. She will host the special Indian Premiere League (IPL) edition of the show on the Colors channel. The glamorous actress, who has replaced action star Akshay Kumar as the host, will be taking 13 cricketers to task. “It feels fantastic to be associated with one of the biggest shows on Indian television today. It fits perfectly with my personality. I have been a huge fan of the show and thoroughly enjoy watching it. “I am looking forward to begin an all new innings in TV with this show which pumps up the adrenaline levels. It’s exciting to be a part of the concept which is unique and is associated with some of the biggest names in cricket,” Priyanka said in a press release. The special edition of the show will feature Indian as well as international cricketers competing with each other to vie for the “Fear Factor – Khaton Ka Khiladi” title for 2010. Colors’ programming head Ashvini Yardi says Priyanka has replaced Akshay due to a change in format. “Akshay took this show to great heights with his inimitable style. However, this year we’re changing the format. So far you had seen 13 beauties with one khiladi. This season get ready to witness 13 cricketing khiladis (macho men) and ek haseena (one beauty),” said Yardi. “We’re delighted to have Priyanka on board. When you combine her glamour, mass appeal and athleticism with cricketers’ energy and adrenalin, what you get is the best possible combination for a show like ‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi’,” she added. I’m extremely happy with ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ success: Priyanka Chopra

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, whose small screen debut “Khatron Ke Khiladi” is garnering high TRPs, says that the success of the show makes her feel very happy. “I’m happy on the fact that ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ opened the way it has because this is the first time I’m doing television and secondly being a girl I’m doing a show like this, so it has been very encouraging for me,” Priyanka told reporters here. Asked how is she planning to hold the high TRPs once other shows like “Kaun Banega Crorepati” with Amitabh Bachchan and “Bigg Boss” with Salman Khan hit the screens, she said: “‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ is a four-week season, so by the time other shows will come on air, it will be over, so there is no stress.” The 28-year-old actress was present at an event to launch radio station Oye 104.8 fm with actor Ranbir Kapoor, her co-star in upcoming film “Anjaana Anjaani”. Asked what would she like to give Ranbir if he enters “Khatron Ke Khiladi” and wins it, Priyanka joked: “There is no way that Ranbir will win the show unless I cheat for him.” Ranbir continued the joke: “I can never participate in ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ because I will never be able to pass the auditions and even if I pass the auditions, I will be out in the first round itself.”
