RGV's next on the killer of Veerappan

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, known for path-breaking films such as "Sarkar" and "Rakht Charitra", will next make a movie titled "Killing Veerappan" on the man who gunned down the dreaded smuggler. A multi-lingual project, "Killing Veerappan" will be made in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. "I've always been fascinated by the story of Veerappan, and have been waiting to make a film on his life. Finally, I've got the perfect script that'll do justice to his story," Varma told. Kannada superstar Shivrajkumar has been roped in to play the killer of Veerappan, while RGV is yet to cast someone to play Veerappan. "My story will not focus on Veerappan, but on the man who killed him. I've cast Shivrajkumar for a particular reason. Veerappan had kidnapped legendary actor Rajkumar many years ago, and now I'm giving his real-life son, Shivrajkumar, an opportunity to take reel revenge on the villain," he said. Veerappan, one of the most wanted of Indian bandits, ruled the forests of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for several decades, smuggling tonnes of sandalwood. He was gunned down by the police in 2004. "The governments of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka had spent hundreds of crores for his capture. Thousands of police personnel were on his trail for years. But only one man could kill him. My story will focus on that one individual," he said. According to RGV, there was nobody else more dangerous than Veerappan. "I can't find anybody more dreaded and dangerous than Veerappan. He was more cunning, ruthless and barbaric than Osama Bin Laden. Agreed Osama may have had bigger network and was working on an international scale, but he wasn't more dangerous than Veerappan, who, according to me, is the most dangerous villain ever," he added. RGV, who is busy writing the film, will officially launch it by the end of this month or next. "I'm almost done writing. I've been watching all films, videos and documentaries available on Veerappan. My story will be narrated from a different perspective as I have found new information from different sources." "We are waiting for Shivrajkumar to be relieved of his current commitments. If all goes well, we might launch the film this month or in early May," he said, and added that other cast members are yet to be finalized. When asked about whom he will cast in the role of Veerappan, Varma said it will be a surprise and that he wants to keep the identity of the actor a secret for now.

'Killer' music arrives on 15th June

It's a general perception in the industry circles that whenever Emraan Hashmi and Vishesh Films come together, it's time to celebrate, both from the movie and music point of view. After the superb musical success of 'Gangster', history seems to be repeating itself as their next arrives in the form of 'The Killer'. No wonder the music of the film is HOT in demand and the people behind the music have wasted no time in announcing the music album's release date. 15th June is the D-day for everyone as the much anticipated 'new sound' arrives on the stands. The first song, 'Teri Yaadon' has just been unleashed on air and needless to say, this Sajid-Wajid composed number looks set to be a winner. The song belongs to the same genre as expected from a Bhatt film and it's a welcome change to see Nisha Kothari in a non-RGV setup!

'The Killer' promises a new sound

When Vishesh Films and Emraan Hashmi combine, great music obviously follows! From 'Footpath', 'Murder', 'Tumse Nahi Dekha' to 'Zeher', 'Kalyug' and most recently 'Gangster', each of the films has always boasted of popular music. Now the production house and Emraan Hashmi are coming together yet again with 'The Killer' that stars Irrfan Khan in the lead role along with Nisha Kothari who plays Hashmi's love interest. While no one doubts yet another exciting music on the way, the film's publicity still chooses to explicitly call it out. Promising an arrival of new sound in the form of some outstanding melodies, the music of 'The Killer' comprises of 5 numbers that are soon coming your way!

'The Killer' opens to good reviews all over

Bhatts seem to be on a winning spree! While their last 'Gangster' was the classiest ever coming from their production house, their on-the-road-hardocre-masala-flick 'The Killer' too seems to have found a flavor amongst the critics at the least. Though audience reaction would be known once the weekend is through, the critics seem to have given a thumbs-up to this Raksha Mistry-Hasnain Hyderabadwala debut flick inspite of 'The Collateral' inspiration. The director duo has ensured that the basic plot is sprinkled with Indian 'masala' and presented as potpourri that would work amongst the masses. Except for one or two publications/sites which are habitual of snubbing every Bollywood movie week after week, regardless of its credentials or actual box office fate, practically every other website, publication and independent critic has agreed that the film needs to be looked as a time pass entertainer, in which aspect it comfortably succeeds. The most notable point about the film is said to be the Irrfan-Emraan chemistry that seems to have worked in a big way. For once a film-maker's claim [in this case the Irrfan-Emraan tussle being akin to Tom & Jerry] appears to have been for real!

'Agra' fame Chithrai Selvan is to direct the film which is inspired by the recent serial killings in Vadapalani. The film is to be produced by Rangeela Enterprises. According to Chithirai Selvan, 'Security guards are killed one after another. A cop investigates and then faces severe problems from various quarters. Does he manage to punish the killer forms the crux of the story'. 'The movie is a reflection of events that is happening in real life', he asserts. Norway killer was interested in hunting, bodybuilding

Although Anders Behring Breivik’s own Facebook account seemed to have curiously disappeared hours after he was accused of massacring 91 people in Norway, the virtual world was inundated with extreme outbursts against the 32-year-old ethnic Norwegian. “Hang him”, “rot in hell”, “death penalty”, “the most hated person in Scandinavia”, they said. A single search on Facebook for Breivik showed up almost 150 results by Saturday evening, consisting of pages, groups, events — all condemning the barbaric attacks carried out Friday. “Die in hell you b******.”, You murderer pshyco! I hope you rot in there.”, “Death penalty…must die.” Most of the posts were of this nature or a level more abusive. Breivik, who is believed to belong to rightwing extremist groups in eastern Norway, gunned down children on the island of Utoeya and detonated a bomb in Oslo Friday. Though the gunman’s own Facebook account seems to have been taken down, reports say he had described himself as a Christian and a conservative. His interests were listed as hunting, body building and freemasonry, according to the Norwegian media that accessed his Facebook account before it disappeared. His single Twitter post on July 17 reads: “One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100,000 who have only interests.” Outraged by the attack, many netizens said this was proof that no one religion could associated with terror. “Proved, Muslims are not terrorists, sick-minded men in each religion turn this world into hell….,” read a message on Facebook. Kelvin John Engels wrote: “This guy was a sick, and then took high consequences, it spilled over, now he’s mad sick deserves to pay dearly for all he did. and now, many families are crying because they lost someone, while we say he can’t continues to jerk around. he shall pay off and very expensive” Kira Lynge Andresen wrote: “I hope you will get what you deserve! R.I.P from Denmark. Killing so many innocent, proud now?” “May all prisoners have a long time a lot fun with.you! Hope your dying will last a long time!!!” said another hate message.
