Kiran Deohans to turn director;wants to cast Kajol

Ace cinematographer Kiran Deohans who has been the DOP for several reputed projects such as Aks, K3G and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak had disappeared from the filmy circuit. Since K3G, it's been a while since Kiran had taken up any film assignments. Now he returns as DOP on the much awaited Jodhaa-Akbar. Kiran doesn't regret being away from Bollywood as he does only films that appeal and doesn't do several projects in one go. So, whats kept him busy all the while? He quotes,'I' m happy doing ad films, atleast you have your kitchen going.' Kiran runs an Ad production house with wife cum partner Aban Deohans called Candid Creations. He believes that both filmmaking and ad film making are challenges, as both need to communicate and require dedication at work. Talking about Jodhaa-Akbar, he expresses his experiences. 'It was a great experience. Over a span of almost 2 years, Ashu and I became good friends. I always wanted to work with Ashutosh, that's why I picked this film after a long break.' On quizzing Kiran on creative differences on set, he remarks 'There weren't any in particular, but every film has its share of creative differences all for the betterment of the film. Like in my case while picturising the Hrithik-Ash romantic scenes, you don't expect the director to tell you what lens to use or what lighting to follow?' So what does the future hold for Kiran? 'Well, I really want to work as DOP for a film being directed by Aditya Chopra. I think I would be honoured to work with Adi. Also I intend on turning director sometime soon. I have done various Ads as director so it's not like I am experimenting something new. I want to do a film based on inter-personal relationships, something that moves the viewer's heart. I would really love to have Kajol in my film. One would love to have her on-board.' With already U,Me aur Hum set to release soon and several Karan Johar , Aditya Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani projects in the pipeline looks like Kajol is one of the most sought after personalities in Bollywood. In any case we wish Kiran Deohans all the very best for his upcoming ventures.

Kiran Rao prefers Prateik Babbar

He preferred it to be slow, safe and relaxed. Prateik Babbar , the son of Raj Babbar and the late actress Smitha Patil was in no hurry to start his innings as a leading man and selected the block buster 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' as his debut vehicle although he had only a short role to perform. But with his good acting and unconventional looks he managed to grab everyone's attention. Seems the guy is an easy going actor as not much information about him or about his plans for his future in the Tinsel Town has appeared in the media till now. His good performance in 'JTYJN' has given him a new project to look forward to. He has been fixed to play the central character of the debut film of Kiran Rao titled as 'Dhobi Ghaat' to be produced by her own production company- Cinema 73. No other information about this newly announced film has come out. One thing which the film buffs can be assured of is the strength of the story and screen play due to the fact that Kiran Rao is the better half of Mr.Perfectionist Aamir Khan and by working along with him in his films she must have imbibed his script sense and the importance given to the perfect presentation.

Kiran returns

Actress Kiran, who stole the limelight playing the lead girl in several films, is on a comeback mode. She is a part of Sundar C's 'Vaada', director Vinayan's 'Nalai Namadhey' and in the Sarath Kumar starrer 'Jaggubhai'. In 'Nalai Namadhey', she plays a sex worker Sarasu, a profession she uses to feed the orphans that the movie is based on. "Sarasu is the one who will give up her life to make others live. I don't see it as a derogative role to perform," she says. 'In Jaggubhai, it's only a cameo. I'm still a heroine. I play the lead lady in 'Vaada', and I am one among the six heroines in Rajathi Raja.' Kiran is happy that she is flooded with enough offers.
