Suresh Balaji, the producer of Ajith's Kireedom, has decided not to change the movie's title. There were talks that the producer would opt for a title change, since the word Kireedom has its origin in Sanskrit and Malayalam. It was feared that it would prevent them from getting tax exemption in Tamil Nadu. However, the producer had sought a clarification with the Tamil department of the State government, who are responsible to confirm if a title is Tamil or not. The department gave its approval for the title Kireedom. The shooting for Kireedom begins at Rajamundry on 6 December. For director Vijay this will be his maiden directorial venture. Ajith is paired with Trisha and the movie is a take off on a Malayalam hit of yesteryear of the same name. It deals with a quaint relationship between a man and his son. Ajith plays the son while Raj Kiran is his father.
Kireedom starts next week
Ajith, whose career is on a new high with the success of Varalaru, will commence shooting for Kireedom early next week. With Aalwar completed and ready to hit screens this Pongal, Ajith has decided to begin Kireedom for producer Suresh Balaji. The movie is reportedly inspired by the Malayalam hit Kireedom which starred Mohanlal and Nedumudi Venu. The movie features Trisha opposite Ajith with Na Muthukumar penning the lyrics and G V Prakash scoring the music. Recently a song sung by comedian Santhanam was recorded by Prakash, while Ajith had also rendered a couple of lines in between. The movie is inspired by the Malayalam hit of the same title which featured Mohanlal in the prominent role. Raj Kiran plays Ajith's father in the movie.
