Reacting to the apology rendered by actor Richard Gere to the media following the outcry over pecks he planted on Shilpa Shetty's cheeks, the actress's spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar commented, "It is sad that Gere had to apologize for no fault of his". "All he had done was enacted a scene from his film 'Shall We Dance' to entertain the truckers at the AIDS awareness event. It was a natural cute and loving impromptu gesture by Gere which was blown out of proportion due to improper projection by the gossip-hungry television media," Bhagwagar said. He maintained that it was an irrelevant controversy and said that Shilpa was neither hurt nor humiliated by Gere's gesture. "It is really surprising that three pecks on Shilpa Shetty's cheeks can cause such an uproar especially in the land of Kamasutra ," he added.
Serial Kisser smooched!
And all this happened much to the disgust of music director Pritam Chakraborty. The appalled musician has reportedly said that if all this was a rehearsed event then the show was nothing but digging its own grave. All this commotion happened during the recording of the 'Voice of India' show held on February 25, Monday. As the shooting was going on an over enthused fan ran to the center stage and kissed Emraan Hashmi right on his lips much to the shock and disgust of others present. The judge and composer Pritam expressed his disgust by staging a walkout of the show. Thinking back on the event Pritam is believed to have said that the entire episode happened so fast and suddenly in a show that was showcasing children's talent. The music director is of view that such explosive behavior should be curtailed in public. Pritam is believed to have made his stand very clear by saying that 'Voice of India' is a very potential show and that it has produced very deserving winners, and he did not want this show to just bank on TRPs alone like a lot of other ordinary music shows. Of kisses and bikini - Aditi Rao speaks her mind
Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has flaunted a bikini and kissed on screen too. While she is "proud" of her bikini scene in "Boss", she says actresses, if seen "smooching repeatedly", could end up acquiring a "reputation" in the minds of the "conservative" Indian audiences. Would she have desisted from doing multiple smooches with Arunodoy Singh in "Yeh Saali Zindagi" and the bikini sequence in "Boss" if she had a choice? "I am very proud of my bikini sequence in 'Boss'. I think I have the physique to carry off the swimwear. No one can force me to wear what I don't want to. I wore a bikini in 'Boss' because I was comfortable in that scene. If I am not convinced, then no power on earth can convince me," she said. As for "Yeh Saali Zindagi", Aditi feels things went out of hand. "About the kisses, I'll have to admit we went overboard. I realised only later that the image is very important for the Hindi film actress. It doesn't matter how many times a male actor kisses on screen. If a female actor is seen smooching repeatedly, she acquires a reputation. Ours is a very conservative audience and film industry," she noted. "Here, smoking, drinking and wearing short dresses are equivalents of being liberated. For me, these external trappings of emancipation are secondary. To me, freedom means the freedom to say yes or no as I want."
Alia kisses Shahid in first look of 'Shaandaar'
Actress Alia Bhatt plants a kiss on Shahid Kapoor's cheek in the first look of "Shaandaar", which spells love and romance. Producer Karan Johar on Wednesday unveiled the film's first official look. It features Shahid, looking smart in a leather jacket and a beard, while holding the quirkily dressed Alia, who is seen planting a kiss on her co-star's cheek. Shahid is all smiles in the poster of the film, which is directed by Vikas Bahl of "Queen" fame. Karan tweeted: "And here it is!!!!! #Shaandaarfirstlook @shahidkapoor and @aliaa08 like never before!!!" Even the newly married Shahid shared: "And the Shaandaar journey begins....#Shaandaarfirstlook", while Alia shared: "AND we are up!!!!This Dussehra make it SHAANDAAR !! @shahidkapoor #ShaandaarFirstLook #SHAANDAARonDUSSEHRA." Just a day before, the filmmaker had shared a teaser poster, featuring Shahid and Alia against the backdrop of a romantic view. While Alia was seen sleeping on a wooden bench, Shahid is leaning his head on her elbow. An airplane is seen leaving a vapour trail depicting two hearts. The two hearts are also seen in the first look, suggesting that the movie will be truly a romantic one at heart. Its trailer will be out on August 11.
Does Ash-Hrithik Kiss Warrants a Court Case?
Why the hell such a big deal is being made out of a mere kiss. Beats me. Especially when the kiss in questions has been shot aesthetically and is a beautiful romantic moment in the film. Obviously you know what I'm referring to. Now, the Ash-Hrithik kiss in 'Dhoom 2' has invited a court case. A publicity hungry advocate Shailendra Dwivedi finds it 'obscene' and has filed a case in the court of judicial magistrate first class R K Batham in Indore under Sections 292 (vulgarity) and 509 (derogatory to women) of the Indian Penal Code. According to the complainant, the women felt offended after watching the scene and it promoted vulgarity in society, especially among the youth. The court has fixed December 11 for recording evidence. Earlier it was alleged that the Bachchans were upset with Aishwarya for losing her inhibitions. But this public tamasha has gone a bit too far. Apparently this advocate Shailendra Dwivedi has earlier filed such complaints against other film stars as well with the sole intention of becoming famous. It goes without saying that with all the news channels showing his bytes, the man is famous already and can also provoke a few heated debates on television soon. Hypothetically speaking if the court finds Aishwarya and Hrithik guilty and sentences them to jail, then in that case kissing queen Mallika Sherawat would be sentenced for life'Oh these kissing woes'.
