The ever-youthful actress Ramya Krishnan, who has the credit of being in the industry for more than two decades playing both lead and supporting roles, is back to rock audiences with an antagonistic character in 'Aarumugam'. This kind of a character comes naturally for this 'Nilambari'. None can forget the intensity with which she played the character of Nilambari in the film 'Padayappa'. Be it an arrant home-maker or an arrogant vamp, glam-doll or even a goddess, the actress delivers the best and simply steals the screen even when many others stalwarts are alongside her and that includes even Rajinikanth in some scenes of 'Padayappa'. The versatility, chic and glamorous appearance and on-screen presence are the assets that have bestowed this actress an unusual privilege of acting in five languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi). Ramya is presently appearing in a daily soap 'Kalasam' in Sun T.V. The veteran actress says 'I will continue my film career until I get good offers with which I can perform. Soap Operas in television also do offer the same scale of pay as films and both have managed the same level of reach among audiences. No difference between the two exists today', says the actress.
Ramya Krishnan denies rumors
Ramya Krishnan on Monday distanced herself from a media report that she had connection with Gold Quest, a multi-level marketing firm which had allegedly cheated several crores of rupees from its members. Speaking to reporters, the actress said, "The report which claimed that I have connection with Gold Quest was totally wrong. I am very much irked by such rumors. Please don't believe it." Stating that she had earned the goodwill of film fraternity and people grace her hard work and commitment, Ramya Krishnan said she was upset by such malicious report. Ramya Krishnan is currently acting in 'Arumugham', directed by Suresh Krishna.
Trisha Krishnan attracts fans galore on 'Nayaki' set
People from various villages gathered to meet southern actress Trisha Krishnan on the sets of Tamil-Telugu bilingual "Nayaki" in Zaheerabad, a town on the border of Telangana and Karnataka. "Over a thousand people from nearby villages gathered at the shooting spot to meet Trisha when we shot in Zaheerabad. This happened on all the four days of the shoot and just ten of us had to control the crowd," the film's director Govi told. Amazed at the fan-base Trisha enjoys as a star, the director was equally surprised that everybody in the crowd was well-behaved. "Nobody tried to gatecrash. They just gathered to watch Trisha and the shoot. It so happens that it was the first time a film crew had gone to shoot in that place, so it doubled the excitement of the locals," he said. Nearly 60 percent of the film has already been completed and the team will soon start a month-long schedule in Hyderabad. The latest addition to the cast is actress Poonam Kaur. "She plays an important guest role. Puunam is a very talented actress and she was apt for this character," said Govi adding that she has already shot for her part. Also starring Ganesh Venkatraman, Sentrayan and Rajesh, the film has music by Raghu Kunche, and will also mark the debut of Trisha's singing career.
Ramya Krishnan in Krishna Vamsi's 'Rudraksha'
Actress Ramya Krishna, last seen in S.S. Rajamouli's "Baahubali", has teamed up with her filmmaker husband Krishna Vamsi in upcoming tentatively titled Telugu horror fantasy "Rudraksha". The film also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu. "Ramya and her husband have joined hands after 15 years. She plays one of the leads in the film," a source from the film's unit told. Ramya and Krishna Vamsi had previously worked together in the latter's 1998 film "Chandralekha", starring Akkineni Nagarjuna. The film was originally rumoured to feature Anushka Shetty in the lead. "As of now, Samantha and Ramya are on board. The makers did approach Anushka for one of the main leads; however things didn't fall in place. The film also features four male newcomers," the source added. To be bankrolled by Dil Raju, "Rudraksha" is tipped to be the most expensive film in Krishna Vamsi's career. "It's going to be made on a lavish budget. The film features nearly an hour of visual effects (VFX) and the makers are currently in talks with several VFX studios," the source said. The project is most likely to go on the floors in May or June.
Ramya Krishnan may team up with Kamal Haasan
Actress Ramya Krishnan is most likely to reunite with actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan after a decade in his upcoming yet-untitled Tamil film, which also features Shruti Haasan in an important role. "Kamal has approached Ramya to play his wife in his next film. The talks have been initiated but she's yet to give her nod," a source close to Haasan told. Kamal and Ramya had previously worked together in 2002 Tamil comedy "Panchathantiram". Malayalam filmmaker T.K. Rajeev Kumar has been roped in to direct the project, which will feature Shruti as Kamal's daughter on the screen. To be produced Kamal, who has also penned the script, the film will be predominantly shot in the US. Maestro Ilayaraja is expected to be roped in to compose the music. The project is slated to go on the floors from April or May.

Actress Ramya Krishnan who has earlier worked with Kamal Haasan in Panchathanthiram, is now set to romance his yet again.She will be playing as Kamal's wife in a upcoming movie, which will also have Shruti Haasan playing as their onscreen daughter.With the script Penned by Kamalhaasan, Popular Malayalam director T.K.Rajeev will be seen directing this project, which will mostly be shot in United States.
