Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said that the national recognition came as a wonderful surprise. He said that he is feeling very ecstatic after the awards were announced. He said that the achievements of the new comers Abhijaat Joshi who was one of the screenplay writers and Swanand Kirkire who won the best lyrics award makes him and Rajkumar Hirani very proud. Rajkumar Hirani, the director of the movie, said that he is very happy because a film based on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi has won the best award for wholesome entertainment. He also praised Abhijaat Joshi and Swanand Kirkire by expressing that the new guys winning the prestigious awards make the magic moments even greater. Screen play writer Swanand Kirkire told that although he has won the award, the achievement was a result of a collaborative effort and the film is a collective piece of work. Sanjay Dutt on his part wanted the title to be 'Munnabhai Meets Mahatma Gandhi' but when an opinion poll seconded 'Munnabhai Lage Raho' he decided to go with the flow. Jayam Ravi in Lage Raho Munnabhai remake
Well, this is the question that has been doing the rounds in kollywood these days. It is well known that the Gemini Film Circuit which remade with great success Munnabhai MBBS in Tamil, has bought the remake rights for the sequel Lage Raho Munnabhai MBBS too. The film on Gandhigiri is being made in Tamil and Telugu. Chiranjeevi is likely to be the hero in the Telugu remake. But it is in Tamil that there is a speculation. Saran, who directed Vasool Raja MBBS, though being its producer may not direct Lage Raho. Kamal has also indicated that he may not act in the Tamil Lage Raho. Sources indicate that Jayam Raja may direct the Tamil remake of Lage Raho. So with Raja at the helm, there is intense speculation that Jayam Ravi may get to play the hero.
