'Lamha'- fighting to be a reality
"Anything worth doing is difficult". This usage can be attributed to how the production of the realistic film 'Lamha' in Kashmir is going on. The daring director Rahul Dholakia is facing immense difficulties in each step that he is taking in making his passion for portraying the real problems faced by the people of Kashmir a reality. The fruit traders in a market in the state were the first ones to halt the shooting going on in the place as they feared that the film intends to showcase them in a bad light. The presence of a gun holding artist of the film also led to more speculations leading to a situation where the director was asked to show the footage that he had canned to the locals. Then it was the turn of the students of a college in south Kashmir's Anantnag district who objected to the nature of the some of the scenes which were being shot there. Finally the principal asked the cast and crew to stop the shooting and go. Then again when the shooting was going on in the uptown Maharaja Bazaar area, the production was made to stop by some people. The reasons are yet not know. Rahul Dholakia intends to present a story which speaks for the never before exposed faces of the conflict going on in Kashmir and the painful suffering of the thousands of natives. He has done intense research for two years and traveled to a lot of places studying the real issues. Rahul even met a senior separatist leader and he has assured everyone that his story will only come from a true perspective. The film maker says that during his travel through the state, he had gone to a village named Dardpora in which there are hundreds of women waiting with the photographs of their husbands and sons to come back home. The film has Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu and Anupam Kher doing the lead roles. "Although it is a love story, I will be hated outside after the release of 'Lamha'. It will depict Kashmir's pain as I have seen during two years" This is what Rahul Dholakia has to say. Seems he has fully made up his mind for some kind of consequences after the movie gets to the theatres.
Shooting of 'Lamha' stopped due to suspicions
In a way, the shooting of Rahul Dholakia's next film titled as 'Lamha' which has got started in Kashmir can be called as the beginning of a war. Although the director who shot to fame with the highly acclaimed film 'Parzania' has only noble intentions and wish to portray the problems faced by the natives of the state and present a sincere film on the deep complex crisis that has been prevailing in the state in a purely neutral manner, due to the deep sense of insecurity in the minds of the local population, totally unexpected hurdles are coming up for the crew and cast to deal with. Rahul and his crew were shooting at the Parimpora fruit market situated in the capital city of Srinagar. The fruit sellers got suspicious about the nature of the film being shot in their territory and stopped the shooting. The traders feared that if they are shown in a bad light in the movie, it will be affecting their business and new problems will surface. They also asked the director if he had got the permission of the local officers and the fruit sellers association to shoot in the marker and when Rahul told that he had not obtained any permission, the sellers asked him to wind up the shooting and move out. More problems came up when the public who had swarmed to the market on hearing about the film's shooting saw a guy carrying an AK-47 gun. In fact it was one of the actors of the film, Bunny Anand who was seen holding the gun. But soon before the actual facts could be made clear, things got out of control and the committee members of the market locked up the main gate. They demanded that the entire footage created from 7.30 a.m when the shooting had started be shown to them so that they can be sure that the footage contains no scenes which have an offending nature to the public or the traders. Rahul Dholakia finally showed the whole recorded material and convinced the committee members of his purpose of making the film. 'Lamha' is a love story that has Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu playing the lead roles. We hope that the maverick film maker who has a lot to offer in terms of his cinematic talent wraps up the production of his ambitious movie safely and exactly the way in which he want it to turn out to be.
Here's why Katrina Kaif lashed out at the paparazzi
Katrina Kaif seems to be in a rather foul mood these days and no points for guessing the reason behind her not-so-pleasant behaviour. After all, she is still trying to come to terms with and recuperate from a heart-storming break-up with her ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor. That Katrina is not in the best of her mood these days was once again proved when the diva returned from her Morocco shoot yesterday and was spotted at the Mumbai international airport. The 'Fitoor' star was not in a merry mood as she did not care to wave or smile for the shutterbugs and rushed to her car without a second glance at the paparazzi. Even her bodyguards did not let even a single media person to approach her but just when Kaif was about to enter her car, someone asked her, "bulaya kyu?" (Why did you call us?) to which she replied, "Maine nahi bulaya" (I didn't invite you). Kaif will be next seen opposite Ranbir in 'Jagga Jasoos', which is being touted as the last possible film of the ex lovebirds. Apart from 'Jagga Jasoos' Kat will also be seen romancing Sidharth Malhotra in 'Baar Baar Dekho'.
