Marriage is always special in any girl. Laya is no exception. The beautiful actress married Dr Ganesh in a traditional wedding today at the Jewel Gardens in Secunderabad. It was a function that was open only to close relatives and friends. A grand reception is set for later this evening at Madhapur wherein the top names of the industry will be at hand. Ganesh is a US-based doctor and Laya is expected to fly off with him soon. But she says she will continue to give dance performances. Laya has also just completed her MCA.
Laya's last laugh
Laya is now busy talking about marital bliss. The beautiful actress who got married to an US-based doctor, Ganesh, recently is enjoying her new role. But if you want to enjoy, perhaps for one last time, Laya's role as a heroine, then you need not wait for long. Her last movie Tata Birla Madyalo Laila is almost ready. It is after this movie that the true-blue Andhra girl called it quits from acting. The fun-filled caper is just the right movie to say adieu. The humor must have helped Laya to have the last laugh, as it were. Produced by Lucky Media, Tata Birla Madyalo Laila has Sivaji playing the hero. Sivaji and Laya share a good working understanding having acted in a couple of films together before. Tata Birla Madyalo Laila is almost over and the dubbing work is said to be progressing. The film will release either in the last week of July or early August. Should be interesting, if not for anything, at least for being Laya's last show.
Laya Gorty denies accident rumour, says she's fine
Telugu actress Laya Gorty, who was rumoured to be injured in a car accident in Los Angeles earlier this week, has rubbished the reports and added that she's absolutely fine. In a video on her Facebook page, she said the news about the accident is absolutely baseless, and that she's alive and kicking. She also requested the media to verify news before publishing anything. Having starred in over 50 Telugu films such as "Swayamvaram", "Hanuman Junction" and "Nee Premakaia", Laya married Sri Ganesh Gorty, a doctor by profession in 2006. She has since then settled in Los Angeles and is blessed with a daughter and son.
Losing Laya and all that
Laya, the original Andhra girl, is not the most happening actress on the circuit. Her only Telugu movie is Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila with Sivaji. After that she is on a limbo in Telugu. But Laya is not totally without work. After making a good splash in Malayalam (movies with Jayaram, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi), she is now looking elsewhere. Laya is moving to Kannada these days. She is being paired up with Shivraj Kumar for a prestigious banner. A good talent will always find favour. A pity that Tollywood has not understood her potential.
Sivaji, Laya plan big
Fun and comedy have a timeless appeal. And it is this appeal that director Srinivasa Reddy is planning to tap with his new movie Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila. It is an entertainer where the fun never stops, says the director. The duo share an inimitable understanding. This is their third film together and they are hoping that it will be thrid time lucky for them. The last film that they acted together was Adhirindayya Chandram. Incidentally, Srinivasa Reddy directed this one too. So naturally the rapport between the lead pair and the director --- something very crucial for a film --- is splendid here. Adhirindayya Chandram was a light-hearted comedy, Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila has also some shades of thriller. Apart from Adhirindayya Chandram, Sivaji and Laya have earlier worked together in Missamma. "We want to score a hat-trick with this film," he says brightly. Producer Gopi (Venugopal), a close friend of Sivaji is making this movie on the Lucky Media banner. Music is by Srilekha.
