Director Solomon's Lee featuring Sibiraj in the role of a footballer is being shot at Military Training College at Udumalaipet. Lee is the first movie to be shot in the Military Training College. Says Solomon, 'Scenes involving Prakash Raj and Sibiraj are being shot here. Prakash Raj plays a football coach and Sibiraj his student. We approached senior defence officers and obtained permission to shoot the film. After several restrictions, we were allowed to shoot here'. Acting opposite Sibiraj is Nila. Adds Solomon, 'My Kokki brought to light the travails of an innocent man in Chennai. Whereas Lee would be different. A pulsating storyline, which should click with the masses'.
Lee audio to be released
Lee, the film which stars Sibiraj and Nila in the lead roles, is produced by the hero's father actor Sathyaraj, for Nadhambal Film Factory. Lee is directed by Prabhu Solomon who directed Karan for Kokki earlier. Lee, interestingly, features Sibiraj in the role of a footballer and Prakash Raj plays a football coach in the film. The music of this film is by D Imman, who scored the music for many films last year. His music has a distinct style and he has given hit numbers with fresh voices. Hence, the audio of this film is expected to re-create the magic that Imman has been synonymous with. The audio will be released at Sathyam Cinemas on 24 January and many celebrities are expected to attend the function. Stay tuned for the exclusive gallery and videos of the event.
Lee ready to kick off
Football may not be the most popular games of India. But it forms an intrinsic backdrop to Lee, the Sathyaraj produced movie for his son Sibiraj. The film is almost completed now and will release this month-end. Nila is paired with Sibi in this youth-centered movie. Prakashraj plays a football coach and Sibi is a football player. Prabhu Solomon, who made a mark with Kokki, is the director. The director says,' The story is about, what happens when talent goes unrecognized. The film has been shot in 100 different locations in and around Chennai." Sibi said that he was happy with the way the film had emerged as it showcases him in a new style.
'Leelai' - Ready and raring to go
Shooting of the Madhavan-Shamita Shetty starrer 'Leelai' has been completed, according to reports. Apart from Shamita Shetty, (Shilpa Shetty's younger sister), Madhavan has also romanced Sada in this film, which is based on a Telugu novel. Said a source, 'Dubbing, re-recording and sound effects have been completed. Currently, the film is in its final mixing. You can expect 'Leelai' to hit theatres soon.' 'Leelai', which was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Telugu, becomes the first direct Telugu film for Maddy, since the actor's earlier ventures were just dubbed and released in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh.
The real story behind Lee
Arriving at the titles for the movies these days is no easy task. Ask Sibiraj, he would vouch for it. Speaking about his Lee, which is currently underway, Sibiraj says over 300 titles were suggested for the movie initially. The greatest difficulty was to choose a catchy title and at the same time ensure that it is a perfect Tamil one. After intense discussion, we decided to settle down with Lee based on the character name of lead role played by me (Leeladharan). When the name was suggested, everyone liked it and appreciated it, he added. Sibiraj further said, 'The greatest difficulty then was to prepare myself for the role. I ensured that I look different and changed my mannerism a lot. Grew long hair and beard too.' Since Sibiraj plays a footballer, he underwent football coaching at the YMCA every evening. Lee directed by Kokki fame Solomon features Nila opposite Sibiraj.
Nilas chances on Lee
Back in Chennai to shoot for her next venture Lee is Nila. The Delhi-girl, who made a glamorous beginning with S J Suryah's Ah Aah, is hoping to turn things around with Lee. 'I had an average outing in Jambhavan. Unfortunately the movie couldn't do well. Hope Lee revives my fortunes.' Asked why she did not team up with Suryah after Ah Aah, Nila, says, ' I was approached for his Thirumagan directed by Rathnakumar. But I was asked to play a rural belle, which I felt would not suit my image. Hence I declined the offer'. Nila is getting good offers in Telugu. She says, 'Doing Telugu films makes me feel happy. Unlike Tamil films where heroines get limited scope to perform, Tollywood gives more screen space for us'. Lee would usher a fresh lease of life not just for me but also Sibiraj, she says.
