In Defence Of The Legends

Tamil film fraternity joined hands to protest against the derogatory remarks by writer Jayamohan on the two legendary figures of Tamil cinema ' MGR and Sivaji. The distinguished writer, who has recently entered film world by penning dialogues and script for the movies like 'Kasthoori Maan' and 'Angaadi Theru', has written a piece on the legendary actors in his blog. The write up that carries offensive remarks on the two was brought to broader notice by a leading Tamil weekly, which reproduced the piece recently. The Tamil film fraternity naturally got anger and decided to protest against such uncalled for remarks. A horde of admirers of the two actors protested against the writer by staging a fasting struggle today (March 1) in Chennai. Vijayakumar, Radha Ravi and Mayil Sami among other attended the fasting struggle.

Baahubali The Lost Legends teaser released

'Baahubali has changed the way many perceived Telugu film industry and thanks the vision of S.S.Rajamouli, Tollywood has been venturing into new paths.Baahubali makers teamed up with Arka Media Works and Amazon India for an animation series on 'Baahubali', which is titled "Baahubali : The Lost Legends". The teaser of the animation series was released this morning. An elated Rajamouli took to his twitter handle and wrote : "@ArkaMediaworks @GraphicIndia and @AmazonIN join hands to make an animation series on Baahubali. Very excited that we are venturing into paths that haven't been treaded before". The first look of "Baahubali : The Conclusion" will be out on 22nd October on the eve of Prabhas birthday (23rd Oct). Meanwhile, an exciting announcement related to Prabhas will be made on 5th October. Rajamouli says that not only Prabhas fans, but every South Indian movie fan will be proud of it .

Honor in the names of the legends

Every New Year begins with a positive and bright note for the film personalities. It is the day when many stars, filmmakers, and technicians are conferred with the prestigious award in the name of two legendary stars - MGR and Sivaji - of Tamil cinema. The awards are given away by V4 Entertainers with the help of Kalaignar TV, Tamil daily Dina Thanthi, Popular Appalam, Medimix Soap and TVK Cultural Academy. The list of awardees reads like 'who is who' of Tamil cinema. The list includes Manorama, Sri Priya, Bharath, Dhanush, Jayam Ravi, R.V. Udhaya Kumar, K.S. Ravi Kumar, Radha Ravi, Vadivelu, Pandiarajan, Saranya, Sathyaraj, Sarath Kumar, Sneha, Tarun Gopi, Jeevaa, Simbu Devan, Sundar. C, Gautham Menon, Vadivelu, Harris Jayaraj, Ravi Varma, Tharani, Daniel Balaji, Susi Ganesan, Pasupathy, Sangeetha, S.Ve. Sekhar, Sandhya, and Seeman. Among the other categories, Nikhil Murugan was awarded for being best PRO and Aadhirajan (Maalai Murasu) for best reporter. The function was held in the grounds of the Wesley School in Royapettah where a huge stage and lots of lights formed the setting for the function. Sadaga Paravigal performed a music and dance show. Manorama, Vadivelu, Sarath Kumar and Sandhya sang and entertained the audience. Lifetime achievement awards were given to Manorama and Sripriya, music director Deva and producer AVM Saravanan. musicmazaa congratulates all the awardees and wishes them more such honors in future.

'Legend (It's Not Celebrity)' title registered

Chiranjeevi (Cherry), who worked as executive producer for 'Chatrapati' and 'Vikramarkudu' is presently busy as producer for films called 'Okkadunnadu' and 'Yamadonga' produced on the banner of Clap Entertainments. He is planning his next film with Creative Director Krishnavamsi, who gave a hit like 'Rakhee' recently. The name of the film was registered as 'Legend' (It's Not Celebrity) with the AP Film Chamber. Cherry says, 'I am now busy with 'Yamadonga' shooting with NTR in the lead. We will start 'Legend' after the present film on hand. There was a lot of curiosity among the industry circles over the film and its subject as the title was taken up from a controversy that erupted in the film industry and which has become a hot topic recently.

Legendry Singers Honored

In a grand and opulent style the four top playback singers of this nation Dr.P.B.Srinivas, P.Susheela, S.Janaki and Dr.S.P.Balasubramaniam were felicitated by producer of Kannada film 'Ganga Cauvery' R.V.Venkatappa at the audio release of the film at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in Bangalore on Thursday evening. At the memorable and meaningful evening two top lyricists Geethapriya and C.V.Shivashanker were also felicitated. A huge Lord Venkateshwara statue, two garlands, shawl and fruit basket were presented to all the dignitaries in the midst of flower petals. Producer Venkatappa's son Akshay is playing the lead with Mahi and Mallika Kapoor as heroines. KFCC President Tallam Nanjunda Shetty, Vice President Sa.Ra.Govindu and bureaucrat of the government of Karnataka K.V.R.Tagore presided over the function. It was a touching felicitation function and the first audio release of a film made by S.P.Balasubramaniam in Kannada. Symbolizing Ganga and Cauvery rivers a set was erected by art director Hosmane Murthy at the audio release function. Addressing on this occasion noted playback singer Dr.SPB said,' The love and affection what he got from Karnataka has not come for him from any other part of the country. Dr.PB Srinivas, S.Janaki and P.Susheela and me are all non Kannadigas yet the people of Karnataka showed immense love for the talent. They simply loved our songs. This is admirable said SP Balasubramaniam. I have learnt so many things in my profession from PBSji, Janakiamma and Susheelamma. Among them the humbleness is most important'. At this unique event he called upon the terrorists to give up pistol and hold musical instruments for serene and harmonious life.
