Nandamuri Balakrishna's Lion has completed its censor formalities with U/A and gearing up for a grand release in second week of May. Directed by Debutante Satyadev featuring Trisha and Radhika Apte as female leads, Lion showcases Balakrishna in dual roles. Mani Sharma composed Lion music album lis getting thumping response from fans. Rudrapati Ramana Rao producing SLV [Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara] Cinema presents Lion grand release on 8th May.
Balakrishna's 'Lion' fails to roar at box office
In its opening weekend, actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer "Lion", which released amidst much fanfare, failed to roar at the box office and raked in Rs.11.2 crore in the first four days in the country. "In four days since its release on Thursday, 'Lion' managed to earn a meager share of Rs. 11.2 crore at the box office in India," trade analyst Trinath told. "You would expect it to make even more from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone but since the film opened to very unsatisfactory word-of-mouth, the numbers dropped from the second day. A big test lies for the movie at the ticket window this week," he said. Directed by Satya Deva, "Lion" features Balakrishna in dual role. The film features Trisha Krishnan and Radhika Apte in the lead roles.
Superstar roared like a lion -Raju Mahalingam
Putting aside all the rumors, Superstar Rajinikanth all set to be back in Chennai for the shoot of 2.o. As our readers know, Kollytalk.com has reported about Rajinikanth’s arrival for the shoot of ‘2.o’ on Thursday, later in the night Lyca’s creative head Raju Mahlingam has confirmed it through a tweet. “Our SUPERSTAR called me this morning and ROARED like a LION !!! Hope all RUMOURS are put to REST !!! MAGILCHI!!!”, posted Raju Mahalingam on his Twitter page. Sources close to the actor say that the veteran looks energetic and fresh after his brief holiday in USA and he is excited about the theatrical release of Kabali.
Sajid & Sajid hit Gold with Lion Clubs
Sajid Nadiadwala & Sajid Khan, riding high on the crest for the super success of 'Heyy Babyy', were the recipients of the Lion Clubs Gold Award 2007. Sajid Nadiadwala won the award for the best Wholesome Entertainer of the year for his lavish production Heyy Babyy. Also, Sajid Khan won the award for the best debut director of the year for his first super hit directorial venture Heyy Babyy. Both Sajid Khan & Sajid Nadiadwala were quite thrilled at receiving this honour. On receiving the prestigious award from the Lions Club, says Sajid Nadiadwala, "It is indeed a privilege and honour. I'm extremely grateful to the Lions Gold club for honouring me." Incidentally this is Nadiadwala's fifth Lion's award and Sajid Khan's first. "Many more to come for sure", quips funny man Khan!
