Dhanush to play the role of an MLA in Vetri Maaran directorial Vada Chennai

Dhanush’s action trilogy Vada Chennai is one of the highly expected films of this season, which is directed by Vetri Maaran. It is a known fact that this trilogy will depict the 30 years life span of a gangster. Reports suggest that Dhanush might be playing the role of an M.L.A. in the film. With earlier reports also telling that he would be seen as a gangster, can we see Dhanush turning from a gangster to a politician? Pudhupettai too had a similar kind of plot, where the lead hero transforms from nobody to a gangster, and from a gangster to a politician. If that is to be the case, it would be great to see Dhanush in an avatar like that once again. Vetri Maaran also hinted us earlier that the film would be as intense like his previous film, Visaranai.

Suriya’s Maatran expected to take off in June

Director KV Anand is currently enjoying the success of his latest release KO which features Jeeva and Karthika in the lead roles. Now he is all set to start his next project Maatran with his Ayan hero Suriya. Actually Maatran has to take off before KO but due the dates problem the project didn’t take off at that moment. It is well known that Suriya is playing five different roles in Maatran and this is for the first time the actor is playing five roles in one film. As of now Kajal Aggarwal, Taapsee and Samantha are being considered for the female leads opposite Suriya. But rumors are at a buzz that Suriya is not willing to star opposite Taapsee. Maatran is most likely to take off in June as Suriya will be completing his current project 7am Arivu directed by AR Murugadoss. Director KV Anand is bringing in his favorite crew Harris Jayraj and writer Subha on board for Maatran. AGS Entertainment of Kalpathi S Aghoram is producing the film. Stay tuned for more updates!

Makrands next is a spoof on society

After a spoof on Bollywood it is time for a spoof on our society. Renowned theatre and film personality Makrand Deshpande is coming up with his next project 'DHAAN' which is a dark comedy based on rural urban truth. 'Dhaan' is based on farmer suicides and will certainly be an addition to the list of subject-oriented films. The film happens to be the first production venture of Shekhar Suman and will have him in the lead cast as well. 'I approached Shekhar with the script for the lead role, but he liked the script so much that he decided to produce it', says Makrand. Makrand's film 'Drream Man' which is all set to release this October, has also been in news for its unconventional story line. When asked on the subject of the film, Makrand said, 'Farmer suicides are now a major part of rural India. We are celebrating 60th year of Independence but we are still incapable of stopping the rising number of suicide happening in our villages'.
