Post the sting operations and the declarations by numerous starlets about behind the scene happenings in Bollywood, casting couch has becomes a common term across households. Soon there is a small time film about to be released that has an actress narrating the tale of casting couch. The film's name is 'Madhubaala' and is directed by Shivram Yadav who had earlier directed 'Patth'. Starring Sameer Dharmadhikari, Nafisa Khan, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Milind Gunaji, Kanishka and Aditi Govitrikar in principal roles, 'Madhubaala' is gearing up for an April release.
Madhubaala releasing on March 31
Deoria Talkies' Madhubala will be releasing on 31 March. The Censor Board has given it 'A' certificate. The movie stars Sameer Dharmadhikari, Kanishka, Aditi Govitrikar, Gurpreet Singh, Ram Mishraa, Milind Gunaji and others. The film is directed by Shivram Yadav. Music is by Bappi-Tutul. The story is based on the casting couch prevalent in film industry. The buzz is that it is inspired from the true life story of Madhur Bhandarkar-Preeti Jain case.
Madhubala's ghost haunts Mallika
Did Madhubala's ghost visit Mallika Sherawat? The plot thickens just before the release of Ratan Jain's 'Maan Gaye Mughall e Azam'. The crew of Maan Gaye Mughal E Azam revealed that while taking a break, a stunned Mallika suddenly stepped out of her vanity van looking completely dazed. On being asked the reason for her perplexed look, the actress revealed that she had seen a vision of yesteryear actress Madhubala in the van. A unit member said, "Mallika was too stunned to react! She told us that she saw a ghost of Madhubala. It may sound unbelievable but these happen and there's no logic behind it. It could be Mallika's imagination too because she imagines herself as Madhubala who had performed the song Jab pyar kiya to darna kya song." Mallika was shooting for the spoof of Jab pyar kiya to darna kya when this incident occured on the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal E Azam. The song Jab pyar kiya to darna kya, originally from Mughal-E-Azam, was picturised on the immortal beauty Madhubala. She played courtesan who falls in love with Prince Salim and is shown being buried alive in the film.
Mallika Sherawat Steps Into Madhubala's Shoes
Mallika Sherawat is ready to step into Madhubala's shoes for her soon to be released comedy venture of 2008 'Maan Gaye Mughall E Azam' produced by Venus Records And Tapes Pvt Ltd. The film has got two things in similar to the classic 'Mughal E Azam'. One is the title of the film and another the song 'Pyar kiya to darna kya' and another is the title of the film. The song is in a completely different format which is written by Sanjay Chhel and composed by Anu Malik. According to Anu Malik "The song Pyar Kiya Toh darna Kya is one of the greatest songs in the history of Indian films. No one can ever make such a beautiful song nor can anyone copy Madhubala or even forget her performance in the song." As the film is a comedy film the song will be picturised as one of the stage performances done by the cast of the film. Producer of the film Ratan Jain says "The song has been picturised on Mallika and though the song is based on the classic song 'Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya'it will be in a completely different tune. Adds Anu Malik "As it is a comedy film and the cast play stage performers the song has many funny lines in it and the song is not meant to hurt anyone."Waiting to see Mallika do a Madhubala in the new song 'Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya' in a comic style.
Sonakshi would like to do a Madhubala biopic
Sonakshi Sinha is open to do biopics and says she would like to do a film on legendary actress Madhubala, who died at the age of 36 after reigning the silver screen with hits like "Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi" and "Mughal-e-Azam". "I would like to do a biopic. I think, biopics are quite interesting. I would like to do a biopic on Madhubala. She was very beautiful, had an interesting career, interesting life, but sadly, she died very soon," Sonakshi said. Sonakshi, who started with "Dabangg" and featured in hits like "Rowdy Rathore" and "Lootera", is now busy promoting "Once upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara", describes her role in the underworld based film as powerful. She said: "It's a very powerful role. It's a love triangle. I am glad, I did this film. It was an absolute pressure to be part of the film." Directed by Milan Luthria, "Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara" also features Akshay Kumar, and Imran Khan. It is coming out Aug 15.
Would love to do a biopic on Madhubala: Kriti Sanon
Actress Kriti Sanon, who is working with stalwarts like Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in her next film "Dilwale", says she would love to do a biopic on late actress Madhubala. "I would love to do a biopic on Madhubala. She was very pretty. I really admire her," Kriti said here on the sidelines of India International Jewellery Week, where she walked as showstopper for Jaipur-based Sunil Jeweller's Collection. "She is someone who is still alive in our hearts and people still remember her. I feel she had a life which can actually be told. I think not many people know about her story and we can tell them," she added. Madhubala was one of the most iconic actresses of Hindi cinema, who gave remarkable performances in films like "Mughal-e-Azam", " Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi", "Barsaat Ki Raat" and others. The actress died in 1969 after a prolonged illness.
