Madrasapattinam audio on April 4

Aarya’s much waited periodic film ‘Madrasapattinam’ has finished its production works and is all set to release soon. The audio of the movie will be launched on April 4. The film is being directed by ‘Kireedom’ fame Vijay and produced by Kalpathy S Aghoram of AGS Entertainment. GV Prakash has scored the music for the film. Na. Muthukumar penned the lyrics for the tunes of Prakash. Amy Jackson, the ‘Miss Teen World 2008′ will be Arya’s new heroine for the movie. Director says that it is a periodic movie which has been planned against the backgrounds of past Chennai during the pre-independence era.

Madarasapattinam audio released

The audio of Arya and Amy Jackson starrer much waited flick ‘Madarasapattinam’ was released yesterday evening in a grand manner at the Chennai Trade Centre. The legendary actor Kamal Hassan, the chief guest at the event released the audio in the presence of director Shankar who was the guest of honour. Bala, Sibiraj, Bharath, Sasikumar, Prabhu Deva, Parthipan, Vasanth, Srikanth, Lissy Priyadarshan etc. were attended the event. The young music director of the film GV Prakash says “It is a very special day for me, as I had done a lot of research on the music of the film.” Sources say “The guests had to walk through Mount Road of that era with Elphinstone theatre, trams, horse drawn carriages and small petty shops. Vijay and his team brought about a certain amount of authenticity that left everybody awed. The VIP’s were brought on stage in a train with a steam engine. Four of the five songs from the film have been presented on the stage by Rukmani, Piaa, Amy Jackson and Arya. The only song to be visualized on screen was ‘Meghame, Meghame…’ that was picturised touching the background of a ‘dhobi ghat’ in old Madras.

Aarya 's ‘Madharasapattinam’ from April 14

The first day of the Tamil month Chithirai would see the release of ‘Madharasapattinam’, the Arya starrer, which is set in pre-independence era. Directed by Vijay of ‘Poi Solla Porom’ fame, the film is produced by Kalpathi S Agoram of AGS Entertainers. According to circles close to the production house, a major part of the film is completed and post production works are currently on in full swing. “If everything goes as planned, the movie would no doubt hit the screens on April 14,” they say. “It is a lively entertainer. Director Vijay and his team took immense pains to recreate the old Madras. The film would certainly shift the audience to the pre-independence era. It is going to be a totally different treatment,” says Arya. Says director Vijay, “Madharasapattinam is a straight contrast to my earlier two films - Kireedam and Poi Solla Porom. We are bringing back the old Chennai on screen. You will see boats making their way in Buckingham Canal and a Mount Road full of greenery.” The rest of the cast includes Nasser, V M C Haneefa (who passed away recently), Bala Singh and M S Baskar. Cinematography is by Nirav Shah while G V Prakash has scored the music.
