Never expected 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy' to do so well: Nani

Actor Nani is buoyed by the response to his latest Telugu romantic-comedy "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy". Although he was confident about the film, he admits he never expected it to do so well. "I knew the film will be well received by audiences and critics alike, but I seriously didn't expect it to do so well and become such a huge hit," Nani, who has finally tasted success after a long time, told. Directed by Maruthi, the film's about a guy with very weak attention span and his love escapades. Unlike his previous films, Nani says he was confident about "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy" even before release. "Usually I am nervous few days before a release, but it wasn't the same this time. I was so relieved and sure that the film will do well," he said. Also starring Lavanya Tripathi and Murali Sharma, the film has grossed over Rs.10 crore in its opening weekend worldwide. The makers recovered the investment in the first two days since its release on September 4.

'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy' to be remade in Kannada

Nani-starrer Telugu blockbuster "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy" will soon be remade in Kannada. The remake deal was sealed earlier this week," a source close to producer Venkatesh told. The cast and crew are yet to be finalised. Nani tastes first blockbuster success with 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy'

It took actor Nani seven years to enjoy the first blockbuster success of his career with latest Telugu psychological comedy "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy", which has emerged as the most successful small budget film in the language. "It's the biggest Telugu hit of the year in terms of return on investment. Having recently completed 50 days of theatrical run, the film has approximately grossed over Rs.55 crore worldwide and is still counting," trade analyst Trinath told. Directed by Maruthi Dasari, the film is about the efforts of an absent minded person and the challenges he faces because of it in his personal life. Also starring Lavanya Tripathi and Rao Ramesh, "Bhale Bhale..." is produced by Bunny Vas. Said to have been made on a budget of Rs.9 crore, the film collected nearly Rs.10 crore from the US market alone. "It's one of the small budget films to have made it to the 1 million mark in the US. It grossed around Rs.9.7 crore during its run in cinemas here," distributor Sanjay of CineGalaxy Inc, the company that released the film in the US, told IANS. The film, meanwhile, is going to be remade in Tamil. According to a source, actor-composer G.V Prakash Kumar, who is on a high with two back-to-back hits, may star in the remake. "Prakash has been approached but nothing has been finalised yet. The remake will be jointly produced by Vamsi and K.E. Gnanavel Raja," the source told.
