'Maha Yagnam' with a good message

DTS mixing works are in progress for 'Maha Yagnam' directed by Krishna Thota, presented by Srinivas Karthikeya and Srinidhi and produced by Ranga Ravinder Gupta and Sandhya Ravinder Gupta on the banner of Sri Tirumala Movie Creations. Director says, 'Our film explains the role of youth in building an egalitarian society. Krishna Maruthi is being introduced as hero through the flick. Though a novice, he performed with a good ease. Several senior artistes including Nazar, Chandramohan, Sita and Bhanupriya did justice to their characters.' Noted lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja also played a sensational role in the movie. The film had come out in a way to attract all classes of audiences. Music by Vandemataram Srinivas would remain an asset for the movie. Ramireddy, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, Rahul, Sharif, Telangana Sakuntala, Babylonia, Madhumita and othees are in the cast. Dialogues are by Dasam Venkat Rao, photography is by Surender Reddy, while story, screenplay and direction are by Krishna Thota.

Trisha in Balakrishna's Hara Hara Maha Dev

For the first time Trisha would be pairing up Nandamuri Balakrishna in his upcoming movie 'Hara Hara Maha Deva'. Directed by B Gopal, Hara Hara Maha Deva is another action drama coming from this Balayya-Gopal camp and the makers have reportedly roped in Trisha as the heroine. Earlier, Trisha shared screen space with Chiranjeevi (Stalin), Nagarjuna (King) and Venaktesh (3 movies) but never acted with Balakrishna in Tollywood. Perhaps this offer makers her one of those heroines who worked with the Big 4 in Telugu movies. Moving away from Hara Hara Maha Deva, Trisha is working with Venkatesh for 'Ganga The Bodyguard' movie, which is readying for release in October. And this Balakrishna offer could not have come at a better time for Trisha since he's not enjoying a good srtint in Telugu cinema at the moment.

Smita's New Album release for Maha Shivaratri

Maha Shivaratri is round the corner and it’s time to soak in devotion and celebrate Shiva. On this occasion I am happy to announce the release of my two music videos on Shiva. One of them is Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya’s “Nirvana Shatakam”, being released tonight (4th March, 2016). The second video will be released on 7th March, which happens to be the night of Maha Shivaratri. Nirvana Shatakam is a composition consisting of 6 slokas that summarize the basic teachings of Advaita Vedanta or the teachings of non-dualism. It is often said by realized Gurus that these few verses can be of tremendous value for those progressing on the path of self-realization. Success of “Ishana” inspired me to go deeper into spiritual music. Nihal who composed Ishana has also scored music for these two songs. The videos are beautifully captured by Sameer Reddy garu, choreographed By Vijay and edited by Adele Periera. I dedicate this video to Sadhguru, my guru who set me on a spiritual journey seven years ago and my grandmother Smt.T.Lakshmi Kantamma who has been my driving force and my inspiration. She was intensely spiritual and lived her life in the true essence of Nirvana Shatakam. I would like thank all the musicians and vocalists who helped me in making this happen.

Shankar Mahadevan beats Shaan on ‘Music Ka Maha Muqqabla’

It was an enthralling finale to STAR Plus’ “Music Ka Maha Muqabbla”, as popular composer-singer Shankar Mahadevan pipped playback singer Shaan in the mega reality show here Saturday night. Shankar’s team “Shankar’s Rockstars”, comprising singers Rahul Vaidya, Sharib Sabri, Sanjeev Kumar and Neetii Muhan, rocked the stage with peppy numbers and won the show by three points. They took home a cash prize of Rs.50 lakh (Rs.5 million) presented by sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. After the victory, Shankar said: “I used to meet with my team members now and then but I never thought that we will make such a wonderful team. Our main motive was entertainment, but along with that we tried giving some message which thankfully reached to the people. I haven’t decided what to do with the prize money. Now we will party and hopefully go on a tour.” Shaan too gave his best shot to the show and gave tough competition to Shankar with his team “Shaan’s Strikers” that included Harshit Saxena, Anweshaa Dutta Gupta, Debojit Saha and Shadab Faridi. However, even with a lot of votes, he fell woefully short. Popular numbers, a lively audience, energetic dancers – the show was a melange of it all. “Music Ka Maha Muqqabla”, which has been on air since 13 weeks, had Mika, Himesh Reshimyya, Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal in the race earlier.
